[Valhalla Club – 8PM]
The meeting abandoned its usual ritual tonight.
No ten o’clock starting time or the eleven o’clock late start.
No glasses clinking against tables.
No laughter echoing beneath the vaulted ceiling.
Everyone’s already present.
Marley, Genevieve,, and the other Billionaires.
Dean arrived last, and moments later, the doors opened again.
Xero stepped through, sealing the room shut behind him.
Marley talked first, his voice lacking patience…
“Wrath took Kimmy. I want my daughter back before dawn.”
A dry, mocking chuckle slipped from Dean. “You’re worrying about the wrong corpse, Marley. Your family’s already bleeding to death. Kimmy’s videos are everywhere.”
Genevieve shot to her feet. “Shut your filthy mouth, Dean!” He didn’t even look at her as she snarled.
“Your daughter should really be the least of your nightmares,” Xero cut in from the throne. “You two touched Kindred Foster Home?”
Genevieve slammed both palms on the table, standing. “My daughter is missing! Why should I give a damn about some miserable foster home?”
“Because that ‘miserable foster home’ belonged to my uncle.” Dean shot. “And do you know who his son is? You don’t wanna know.”
“And Dean…” Xero muttered. “You actually announced Wrath as the owner of the Empire.”
Dean blinked innocently. “He wanted my head, but i handed him his own head! What other way should I have handled it? Fûck!”
“And now the company is out of your hands? Can’t believe I was intending to connect you with Greece! You’ll get punished for this!” Xero pronounced.
“The company was never mine,” Dean shrugged. “And now even after I announced Tobias as the owner, it still doesn’t belong to him. He’d be shocked.”
Marley stood again.
“My daughter has vanished. The internet is watching her degradation. And somehow…” His stare settled on Dean. “You’ve managed to make this meeting about your business.”
“The world doesn’t stop because your family is collapsing!” Dean spat.
Marley lurched from his seat, ready to attack him, but a sound interrupted him.
Not a loud sound, but the slow groan of doors opening.
Every conversation suffocated, and every eye shifted.
A strange figure emerged from the darkness beyond the entrance with echoing footsteps.
Xero rose immediately from his throne.
The figure continued his unhurried walk through the black corridor until the light finally found him.
Deep green eyes.
Xero lowered his head.
“Behold…” His knife-smooth voice carried through the silence. “The true leader of this club.”
He lifted his gaze toward the man who just entered…
“Vince St. Graves.”
Not a single person breathed as Vince stepped fully into view.
