[Washington DC – White House]

The White House stood authoritatively with black iron fencing and towbeering columns gleaming beneath the afternoon sun.

Armed agents and discreet surveillance stood fixed.

Tobias’s black SUV rolled to a stop at the designated visitor entrance after his credentials had been cleared in advance.

Secret Service agents met him immediately, confirming his identity, scanning him through security, and escorting him through a series of controlled corridors where every door required authorization to open.

Staff members moved urgently, barely sparing him a glance as they carried folders and spoke into earpieces.

Once the formal checks were complete, a White House staff aide greeted him with a courteous nod.

“You’re requested to wait a few minutes, Mr. St Graves. The President has a visitor right now.”

Tobias didn’t argue.

He’s too silently angry to engage in any conversation right now.

So, he sat, and waited.

[President’s Office]

The office was spacious without being ostentatious, and every detail projected history and authority.

Warm sunlight cast a soft glow across polished hardwood floors and a neatly arranged seating area with cream-colored sofas.

American flags stood proudly in the corners, while framed portraits and historic paintings adorned the walls, lending the room an air of gravity.

Vince sat facing the President behind his large desk, and it’s obvious they’ve been in a heated conversation before now.

Behind Vince, there’s Ruth who sat on a wheelchair, looking as pitiful as she could make herself look.

“I still can’t believe you’re talking this way, Your Excellency,” Vince relaxed. “Ruth’s mother was your younger sister who was tragically killed by a criminal. When they found her at the hideout, she wasn’t only shot dead, but parts of her was burned with hydrochloric acid.”

“And how did she get there?” The President sighed. “How did she get to the hideout in the first place? She hired people to act like Atlanta police and kidnapped someone from NYC to Atlanta. It’s not a crime in your diary? Huh, Vincent?”

“But Ruth is now powerless!” Vince shouted. “I still have my father around me, but Ruth? Ruth’s father has always been absent and obsessed with touring the world. He didn’t even attend mother’s funeral!”

“What do you want me to do about that, Vincent?” The President asked classily, sophisticatedly.

“It’s your job as the President to protect the citizens,” Ruth spoke up. “I’ve been cheated, and I want…”

“Justice?” The President cut in.

“Yes,” Ruth nodded.

“And you’re saying one Tobias St. Graves from NYC killed my sister,” the President added. “But the cops are doing their job, and nothing found led to the man.”

“But I saw him! He shot at my leg and killed mother all for that trashcan girl from the Redd family!” Ruth shouted in the large space.

“Now you’re admitting that you kidnapped her from her city and took her to Atlanta to kill?” The President relaxed. “If no one came to do the saving, she’d be dead.”

“You’re supposed to be on my side, uncle…” Ruth cried.

“I am the President, and yes I have family like you, but that doesn’t make me less human or less empathic,” the man cleared. “I cared about your mother when she was alive. She was my sister after all, but she got what she got because of her own deeds. I’ll never step in.” The President vowed.

Ruth tried standing from her wheelchair for a better confrontation but she fell back quickly.

Her broken leg returned her.

“I hate you!!!!” She yelled, veins stretching on her neck.

“I want the investigation on Wrath Investments Empire to end, at least.” Vince said alternatively. “The money laundering was never Dean’s deed, it’s all Tobias’s plan.”

“And why would you be concerned about the Empire?” The President asked, getting bored.

“Because it’s mine,” Vince stood. “I wouldn’t fight for the Empire if I don’t own that bitch!”

“Are you sure?” The President reclined and increased the volume of the TV, tuning in to NYC business.

The current news is that Dean St. Graves released an announcement that Wrath Investments Empire belongs to Tobias St. Graves.

Statement released ten minutes ago.

Slowly, Vince stood, eyes fixed on the TV like he wants to enter and kill everyone who aired that statement from Dean. How dare Dean?

He slammed his fist on the table and dashed for the door.

“Wait for me, Vincent!!” Ruth quickly pushed her wheelchair after him.
