Light left Tobias blue eyes.

Darkness set in.

With raised chin, he looked around the seashore, searching for any sign of watching eyes or listening ears.

Though, he’d have felt it if there was one, but he has never not been calculatedly careful.

So, he looked.

“Area surveyed, Wrath. We did checks before we landed.” The parachute guy chimed, sounding like trouble and the synonym.

“How deep?” Tobias faced him.

Before parachute guy could reply, surfboard lady beat him to it…

“Deep like the last p+$sy I f+ked, Wrath. No one was around besides the Serpents. Now that they’re down, this seashore is clear.”

The cat and mouse play between the two of them is so obvious like they’re enemies from different clans.

“Yeah, you’re gonna keep taking my fuckin’ lines, right, Yalda?” Parachute guy sneered. “You’ve been on this bullshit since forever.

“Migos, you need to get your shit faraway from me tonight, or I have your eyes for dinner.” Yalda shrugged, squeezing her lips.

Tobias right hand flew up in a swift flight, and the back of that hand came down on Yalda’s cheek.

The sound ricocheted, one would think her cheek would tear.

The lady fell on her knees.

Tobias used his left hand too, sending the back of it to Migos’s jaw.

The hit was brutal like him. Migos hair scattered around his eyes.

He went on his knees, too.

The other Odds stood silently in the circle, watching the unfolding.

Scenes like this are inevitable with Yalda and Migos.

As Hawks of Odium, they’re enemies for an unknown reason.

“You wankers seem to have lost your consciousness compasses, f+k!” Tobias glared. “You come here to the first meet in years, and the first thing you do is exchange words in front of me when I’m still mad from the deeds of the poor club? My head is still heating. Get close and feel the ooze, Yalda. Get close, Migos. Feel the f+kin ooze and tell me what you think!” His words slapped against the crashing waters like a solid form.

“I’m sorry, Wrath.” Yalda calmed.

“More sorry, Black Rose.” Migos added.

Behind everything, Seraphina watched like a stranger.

She felt like a stranger here.

Truly, she never knew anything clean or orthodox with him.

He was always intimidating and unsettling in an odd kinda way. She knew he wasn’t ordinary.

But she never placed her mind on this kind of extraordinary.

Now she feels like she doesn’t even know him at all. Like all the things she knew before were a fairytale beside this one she’s witnessing.

Powers exist, too.

And this man definitely stood on top of it all. She doesn’t need a diviner to tell her they’re a organized cult.

A Dark Crime Cult.

And Tobias is like a Crime Boss.

They called him First Man of Odium.

Meaning…he owns this cult.

That realization made her throat close on nothing, but her grip on his shirt never loosened.

She even held the shirt tighter on each side of his body from that back she stood at. His shadow covered her completely, his tallness clears.

Suddenly, everything she experienced in the den of the people who kidnapped her meant nothing.

Suddenly, she forgot about it all.

She focused on the man she’s hiding behind. He’s all that matters now.

She once asked herself where she’d find power to fight her enemies with, but now…her answer seems clear.

Clearer than day.

She cast a long, deep look at the circle of Odium members and the dead bodies surrounding the seashore.

The scene made her chest ring.

With fear.

She white-knuckled Tobias shirt, fists squeezing his shirt so hard like he’s her only available refuge.

And he is.

Now, Yalda and Migos are up from their knees, back to their silence.

“Check the bodies,” Tobias ordered, loud enough to rise over the waters.

Two Odds moved to go do that…

“I was talking to you, Jude.” Tobias interrupted them.

The two Odds returned to their initial positions, and Jude moved.

He moved from the position he has been since the beginning of all these, walking slowly and looking around at everyone while at it.

His shock is gone, now replaced with deep intrigue.

He stared at them like he’s interested in what made up their systems.

Like he wants to dig into the system.

Migos gave him an unwelcome glare when their eyes met.

Yalda? Yalda was strictly blank.

Jude arrived at the limousine before he stopped staring at them.

He zoned his attention on the limousine which is now filled with bullet-holes, numerous enough to trigger trypophobia.

Tino’s body lay there below the car, his head beside the front tire.

Bodies of Serpents lay around him like sacrifices.

But Jude noticed something though.

He moved closer to one of the bodies and went down in a squat, checking out his tattoos.

Jude stuck out his pointer finger and rubbed the tattoo.

It came off.

He went to another Serpent body and rubbed the bodily tattoos.

It came off, too.

Jude stood, facing the cult.

“Fake tattoos, I think they’re fake.” He said smartly.

“Yeah I knew they were fake,” Yalda sighed. “Serpents might be below us, but they’re not completely spineless. It’d have taken more minutes for us to take them down if they were real. The stupid Leader of Valhalla would never send his Serpents over that fast. He sent fake Serpents cos he knew we would waste their arses.” Yalda yapped, head intentionally low and eyes glaring up.

“You got some skills, I agree.” Migos nodded at Jude. “But shit, you aren’t an Odd. You’re too new to the system while we grew up with this shit.”

“I never said anything about becoming an Odd though.” Jude said casually, feisty.

“All of your moves shows your eagerness to be recognized, dawg.” Migos glared. “Don’t try to whitewash details for me, I already know.”

“Migos,” Tobias called huskily for immediate caution.

“Pardon my manners,” Migos nodded back as Jude walked past him.

“You cool,” Yalda nodded at Jude with a unfiltered smirk.

“Thank you, Yalda.” Jude nodded back, a little empty smile rubbing on his features.

He caught her name when Tobias was talking to them earlier.

Weirdly, Tobias never looked back at Seraphina again since he put the coat on her. It’s like he forbade himself from turning his neck at her.

Seraphina felt too lonely back there.

Too lonely it was choky.

Tobias’s phone buzzed with a new call which he picked without even looking at the screen.

Who’d call at this heated hour if not the Leader of Valhalla.

“Don’t touch Tino. I returned the only hostage I have with me. Naturally, he should be returned too.” He went straight to the burning issue.

“You didn’t return shit, motherfucker,” Tobias growled, mad. “You took a healthy human, but she returned with two cuts on her brows, one cut on her lip, bruises on her laps and her two knees. Then, her br+sts were definitely touched. You touched the muse of my altar, and you already know something goes for something. You sent me a arrow with a clipped butterfly too, and I’m still holding it. I’ll make your son a little lab rat and soak my hands with his blood. I wanna hear you cry.”

Seraphina went still behind him.

He knows the number of cuts and bruises on her skin?

Just like that? How did he…

“I didn’t know you had any connection with her before picking her up.” Valhalla Leader breathed out it nearly crashed the speakers. “If you dare touch Tino again, Tobias St. Graves, you know how bloody I fight.

“I don’t fight, I end people,” Tobias raised his shoulders eagerly. “And thank you, make it bloody.”

He hung up and snapped his fingers at the Odds.

While Yalda gathered the bodies in one place, Migos called their cleaning sector to come with a truck.

An Odd drove the destroyed limousine into the sea.

Another Odd carried Tino’s body into Tobias car.

While all of these happened, Tobias was already walking to his car.

Though, he made sure Seraphina was right in front of him.

Seraphina looks like she has a lot to say, but how would she when he never said a word to her?

Jude opened the car door for her.

She looked back at Tobias, but he was already at the other side.

So, she entered the backseat.

Jude threw the door close and joined Tobias in the front.

So, Seraphina is alone at the back.

The drive began, and all she got was his back view as he made various calls to the Odds, ordering them around like the Boss he is.

She doesn’t even have her phone anymore. They took her phone at Valhalla Club.

The evidence of Marley killing the former gatekeeper is all gone now.

She needs something brand.

Something new.

But to get anything at all in this stage, she needs him.

She needs Tobias.
