Then… boom!

A bomb exploded.

Adeline’s mind went down on a thick mash of fear and got muddled as she continued rolling down the grass with Madden whose arms are around her waist.

The force of the bomb explosion shook the place to it’s roots, and the other six mobsters on the grass rolled down with them.

Luckily for them, the bomb didn’t get any of them, but it made a mess of the snow, boring different huge holes in it.

One of the trees around caught fire, and it began burning brightly, sharing it’s fire around the place.

Madden let go of Adeline when they got to the downside part of the grass, and he stood, his arm bleeding from the shot and the right part of his face stained with black from the bomb fumes.

Adeline stood, slinging her gun on her shoulder with shaky hands before facing him.

“You’re… wounded!” Her eyes widened when she saw his bleeding arm, but when she tried to touch it, he literally slapped her hand away, and she stepped back before looking at his face again.

“This ain’t the right time to play pathetic, get your head straight in the game! If you get yourself killed, I’ll happily have you buried!” He harshly said, and she swallowed her own spit as the harshness hit her all in the face.

Adeline badly wants to ask how he knew her real name, or when he found out, but obviously, this ain’t the right time too.

She almost died, and that same mistake shouldn’t happen again.

The other six guys stood to their feet too.

“Shield yourselves with the trees and follow the strength of your capacity. The real hunt starts now” Madden ordered, and the guys split themselves in twos, going in different directions.

Madden went straight, covering himself with a leafless tree, and Adeline followed, staying at the other side of him.

She hid behind a tree too before peeping out to the cabins.

She could clearly see the bastards who threw the bomb.

They’re already coming into the forest, probably to check if the bomb got them.

There are like dozens of them.

Before Adeline could think, Madden already opened fire on them.

Adeline followed his lead, opening fire too together with the other mobsters around.

Within two minutes, they brought down over thirty of the bastards, and the rest of them ran into hiding, shooting back from there.

One of them targeted Adeline’s spot, and she had to gum herself to the tree cos any slight movement from her, she’d be shot down.

Madden saw it and tried taking the bastard down, but it’s impossible from his angle.

Adeline is the only one who can bring him down.

Adeline held her breath, deciding to risk it and come out from behind the tree…

“Stay where you are” Madden told her.

“But I can’t freeze for life” she replied.

“Then you’ll come out and get yourself killed?” He said.

“Didn’t you say you’d happily bury me if i die?” She replied.

“This little shit” Madden muttered, and before he could address her again, she came out from behind the tree with her sniper intact.

The target shot immediately, and she shot at the same time, hitting him in the head.

The target went down, and then several other shots started coming from his colleagues, aimed directly at Adeline.

“Shit!” She spat, climbing the tree as bullets flew around the leaves.

Madden had to face them under the tree while she shot back from a tree branch.

Together, they brought down another round of thirty, thanks to their stellar shooting skills.

Suddenly, one of them targeted the branch Adeline is standing on, shooting it three times consecutively.

The branch tore, and Adeline fell from it, landing on the ground.

Madden doubled up his efforts immediately, and within that short period, he brought down twenty on his own.

Adeline got back to her feet as fast as possible, but her gun fell already and is covered by the fallen branch.

She went on her knees and began trying to remove it, but while at it, one of the men successfully shot at her.

The bullet hit her back, on her right arm.

She was already holding her gun before she got hit, but all the energy to shoot left her immediately.

Still, she stood with bloody shaky arm…

“Get back on the ground f+çking idiot!” Madden shouted at her, still shooting relentlessly as he shouted.

Adeline tried lifting her gun nevertheless, but her eyes turned heavy and drowsy as more blood rushed out of her wound, soaking her black jacket.

She went on her knees before falling flat on her face, passing out.

Madden pretended not to see her and just focused on his shots, bringing them down alone.

His other men and the other two teams are probably bringing them down on the other side of the forest cos he could hear the gunshot sounds.

A bullet nearly hit him again on the same arm, but thanks to instinct, he targeted the shooter back, blowing off his head.

While doing that, his eyes caught Adeline’s body which is still lying on the ground.

Blood is still pouring out of her shot back in handfuls, and if the blood doesn’t stop within a given time, she’d die for real.

She’s losing too much blood, and it’s understandable since that’s her first gunshot wound.

Leaving the others to face the battle alone while taking care of her won’t make any sense, and at the same time, he can’t let her die yet.

He hid behind a tree again and tapped his bud, contacting the other two teams.

“Cease fire and return to the cars! Mission failed!” He ordered.

“Yes master!” Jinx’s voice came.

“Y…y..es… master” Loud’s voice came shakily, and Madden just knew immediately that something went wrong with his team.

This will be the first time his mission went awry like this, and he could already imagine the number of losses that’s on ground.

He cancelled the thought and covered himself with the grasses before going for Adeline.

He pulled her up, and despite the fact that she’s unconscious, she’s still holding her sniper gun so tightly to her chest.

Her face is becoming pale with her lips, and her blood is mixing with the snow already.

He took the gun from her before lifting her to his back, then he took their guns together, going down the forest as fast as possible.

The gunshots were still coming from the cabins, and he could still feel bullets raining on the trees as he ran out of the greenery.

He never runs.

All his life, he has never been chased.

He’s always the one doing the chase, but the reverse is the case now.

The amount of anger and rage inside him right now could destroy any living and nonliving, and thats how he knew that this ain’t over.

This is far from over.

He arrived at their cars after twenty minutes run through the forest, and he placed Adeline inside the black wagon, waiting for the others.

He only had to wait for a minute before Jinx and Poe arrived with their team.

They lost two mobsters, and they’re carrying their bodies on their shoulders.

They placed the bodies at the back of the truck, then Loud appeared with his team.

They lost just one person, and that one person is on Loud’s shoulder.

Jinx gasped immediately, but Madden kept his face straight despite the fact that he already knows who that body belongs to.

Loud has hot tears in his eyes as he dropped the body in the truck too.

It’s Nikolai!

He was shot on the chest, directly in the heart.

“Niko!!” Jinx cried out, covering her mouth.

That only made Loud’s tears go louder , and he sat on the ground, letting it all out.

Poe kept her face frozen, seeming uninterested in the ongoing sorrow.

Her eyes are on Madden’s shot arm, and she hates Micheal more for it.

How could he allow Madden to get hurt when he could have protected him?

She saw Adeline’s unconscious body in the car, and she scoffed, wishing he died instead of his unconscious state.

“Over” Madden finally spoke, entering the car.

The others started entering the other cars too, and Jinx had to pull Loud up.

She entered the truck with him, and they stayed with the dead bodies throughout the drive back to the clan.

Loud didn’t stop crying, and when they drove into the clan one hour later, the other mobsters were already waiting to hear the good news.

Trixie and Sin are waiting with them, but immediately Madden came out of the car, they knew things didn’t go well.

They could feel the dead energy around him, and when the others began coming out too, they lost hope completely.

The truck was opened, and the two bodies were dragged out together with Nikolai’s.

“What the f+ck!” Trixie gasped.

“Shit” Sin muttered, his eyes wide.

Madden himself took Adeline’s body out of the car, and their eyes widened more.

“Michael too? No!!” Trixie cried.

Kimberly rushed into the crowd, and when she saw Adeline’s body in Madden’s arms, she went crazy.

She almost lost her senses and ran to take the body from him, but Sin’s words stopped her…

“I don’t think he’s dead” Sin said.

The nurses at the clinic appeared with stretchers, and they made to take Adeline from Madden…

“Will take care of him myself” he told them off, and they stepped back.

“Bury the bodies” he ordered the other mobsters before leaving the circle, heading for the manor.

Poe was dishing him malicious looks as he walked, folding her fists.

Kimberly wouldn’t stop staring too, praying with everything in her for her sister’s safety.

Loud sat beside Nikolai’s body, crying bitterly as he called his name repeatedly.

Sin squatted beside him, placing an hand on his shoulder.

Trixie joined him too, placing an hand on his second shoulder.

Andrei is part of the onlookers too, but immediately the dead bodies were carried away, he left for Igor’s suite.

He didn’t even bother to knock before barging in.

Igor is fingering a naked bî+ch in the living room, and the girl is crying loudly.

“What did you do, Igor?” He demanded.

“Get out I’m not in the mood to talk!” Igor replied, his three fingers going into the bi+ch’s pu+$y again.

“F+ck! F+ck yes!” She female moaned, widening her legs farther from each other.

“What did you do to the mission? Three people died!” Andrei shouted, and that made Igor face him.

He withdrew his wet fingers slowly from the pu$$y, and the female complained with a whine as Igor walked to Andrei.

“Repeat that” he said.

“The mission…it failed. Three people died and Micheal got injured badly!” Andrei said.

“Really?” Igor’s eyes shone with excitement, and his laughter filled the house immediately.

He walked away from Igor, still laughing mockingly, then he laughed back to him.

“What did you do?” Andrei asked.

“What do you mean by that? I did nothing, I guess it’s time for Madden to taste failure too. It wasn’t made for only me” Igor replied.

“Is this a joke?” Andrei said unbelievably, and Igor went closer to him.

“Hey have I ever done anything without involving you? I know nothing about the attack!” He yelled at Andrei’s face.

Andrei sighed.
