“We will not accept that will. Me and my children are the sole owners of his properties and money. No one will drag it with us. Anyone who wants trouble from us will get it, but the person will not get anything from the companies and the money my husband died and left behind. Everything belongs to me and my children,” Madam Ginika said in her heart. She called her two children, instructed them not to look for anyone named Kelvin.

“You people should not worry about anything. We will take over your father by fire or by force. No one will come here to drag it with us. If anyone wants a problem, we will give that person a double problem. Everything your father owns belongs to you.” Madam Ginika said.

“I agree with you mother. Nothing will make me to start looking for Kelvin. Even without him, we can take over our father’s property and money wherever they are located. I will personally find all the money and possess it because they belong to me and my brother, Jonathan.” Ben said with anger in his voice.

For so many weeks, they maintained their stance that they are not going to look for Kelvin. Months passed, and no one talked about the matter. However, after six months, the family started running out of money. Madam Ginika has spent all her money taking care of the family. Madam Ginika had no business of her own, and she depended on her husband, who used to give her a lot of money when he was alive.

Now that Chief Stanley is dead, Madam Ginika has no more money after spending the one in her bank account. Even her children had no business of their own because they all depended on their father’s wealth. When he was alive, they did not worry about money at all. Any time they needed money, Chief Stanley provided millions for them. However, they are now completely penniless.

Soon, they started lacking money to buy basic things because their father was no longer there to provide for them and they don’t earn money on their own. Ben and Jonathan approached their mother and asked her to give them money.

“I don’t have money to maintain the family anymore. I have spent all the money my husband gave to me when he was alive. I don’t have any penny left in my bank account. The expenses in the family are much. However, today, I’m going to the bank to ask them to release my husband’s money to me.” Madam Ginika said. She has been said for many days because she is unable to provide for the family.

That same day, she approached the bank where her husband used to keep his money when he was alive. She went to the bank with a lot of documents, including her husband’s death certificate. She told the bank that her husband was dead and that as the wife, she is supposed to be the one to collect the money in his bank account.

However, after proper checks on the bank account, the bank told her that she is not her husband’s next of kin. According to the bank, late Chief Stanley appointed his first son, Kelvin as his next of kin and the only person who can access the money in his account when he is dead.

“Madam Ginika, we are sorry, but we cannot give you the money in your husband’s account. The money does not belong to you. The person appointed as the next of kin must come to access the money. If Kelvin does not come, we can’t give you the money.” The bank staff who attended to Madam Ginika said.

“Why can’t you give me the money? The money belongs to my husband and I have the right to access it. It is my husband’s money, so therefore, it is my own. Whatever belongs to my husband also belongs to me. Give me the money quickly,” Madam Ginika said but no one paid her any attention.

Madam Ginika left the bank in shame. She was weeping her car when the driver was driving her home. In fact, the driver happens to Kelvin, who she did not know is her late husband’s son. Kelvin was waiting for Madam Ginika outside the bank when she was inside trying to access her late husband’s money. Kelvin knew everything that was happening in the family. However, his father, late Chief Stanley had instructed him not to reveal his true identity until the family has suffered a lot of financial lack.

“How I wish I can help you people. I’m right here with you and yet, you are looking for me. You have vowed not to look for me but I know that you will soon start looking for me by fire by force because I hold the keys to the money you are looking for. But I will obey my father. I will wait for the right time before I will rescue you people.” Kelvin said in his heart as he was driving Madam Ginika home from the bank.

That evening when Madam Ginika got home, she called her two sons and spoke to them with a broken heart.

“Please, we have to start looking for Kelvin. We cannot have money and we will be suffering. Let us start looking for Kelvin to come and unlock the accounts for us. I went to the bank today and they sent me back, insisting that Kelvin is the next of kin and that he is the only one who has access to the money. Please, the two of you should start looking for him,” Madam Ginika said with tears in her eyes.

“Alright mother, we have heard you. Please, stop crying, we will look for him and we will find him.” Her children said.

Meanwhile, Kelvin was there listening to them and he said nothing.

“I will keep quiet and allow them to look for me. When they are tired, I will reveal myself to them,” Kelvin said his heart.
