Unexpected Wealth Episode 10
Victoria and Temi arrived at the mansion around 10 am. They had received a message from Chief Eze, asking them to come over. Victoria was not sure what to expect, but she came anyway. When they got to the gate, the security man opened it without question. Chief Eze was waiting at the door and welcomed them inside. He asked them to go straight to the living room. Victoria and Temi walked in and saw a few people already seated. Titi was sitting quietly on a chair. Chief stood before everyone and said he had something to show.
He walked to the TV and inserted a flash drive. The screen came on, and everyone became quiet. The video started playing. It showed Titi standing in a hospital corridor, talking to someone. She brought out a black nylon bag and handed it to the person behind the camera. Her voice was clear. "Make sure that result says the boy is not his son,she said. "I don't want him to steal my husband's wealth." Everyone in the living room watched silently. Titi's face changed as the video played. She looked down and didn't say anything. Victoria looked at her but said nothing.
When the video ended, Chief Eze faced Titi. "So this is what you've been doing behind me?" he asked. Titi looked up slowly. "I'm sorry," she said. "I was just scared. I thought Victoria was trying to come back into your life. I didn't want to lose you. My friend advised me to act fast, and I listened to her." Chief looked disappointed. "So you chose to destroy someone else just to keep your place here? You forgot that boy you were chasing is a human being too?" Titi tried to speak, but the words were not coming easily.
Chief brought out an envelope from a drawer and opened it. "This is the same money you gave to the lab technician. He returned it to me. He also told me everything you said and did. This was the bribe you used to turn me against an innocent woman." He dropped the envelope on the table. Titi looked at it and began to talk. "Yes, I gave him the money, she said. "But I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just panicked. I was thinking of myself, not what it would do to Victoria and Temi. I'm really sorry."
Chief turned to Victoria and Temi. "I made a mistake," he said. "I believed a lie and turned my back on the people who stood by me. Victoria, you didn't deserve what I did to you. Temi, I called you a liar when you were innocent. I'm sorry." Victoria nodded.
"It's okay, she replied. "I just wanted the truth to come out. I didn't have anything to hide.Chief walked to the shelf and brought out a document. "These are the papers to your house, " he said. "The cars are still parked outside. And your account will be restored today."
Titi stood up slowly. "Please forgive me,she said. "I know I was wrong. I let fear control me." Chief looked at her. "You are not the kind of woman I want around me. You hurt a child who did nothing to you. You were not fighting for love. You were fighting out of jealousy. That's not the kind of heart I want to keep in my life.He turned and pointed to the door. "You have to leave this house. Pack your things and go. You're no longer welcome here." Titi broke down in silence. Nobody said a word.
She walked out of the room without looking back. Victoria watched her leave, but she didn't feel like mocking her. She had gone through her own pain too. Chief turned to Temi and smiled. "Young man," he said, "I'm sorry for what I did.
I hope you can forgive me." Temi nodded"I forgive you, sir," he saidChief walked over to him and patted his back. "You are my son,he said. "Nobody can change that again." Victoria looked at her son and felt grateful. All the shame and rejection they had suffered was beginning to fade away.
Weeks passed and the house felt different. Victoria had moved back in. Her name was placed on all the properties Chief had given her. Temi had started university, and he was doing well. Chief and Victoria grew closer againThey would sit outside in the evenings, talking about life. Chief said he had not felt this peaceful in years. One morning, he asked Victoria a question she didn't expect. "Would you like to be my wife officially?" Victoria looked at him and smiled. "Yes,she said"I would. It was a small answer, but it changed everything.
The wedding was held in the same mansion where everything happened. It was not a big event, but it was full of meaning. Chief Eze wore a nice suit and Victoria wore a simple lace gown. Temi stood proudly beside his mother as they exchanged vows. The guests clapped as Chief placed a ring on her finger. It was a new beginning for all of them. Victoria no longer looked like the woman who once struggled alone with a child. She was now a wife and part of a real family. The journey had been long, but it ended well.
From that day, the mansion was filled with new laughter. Chief Eze gave Temi his surname and added him to his will. Victoria managed the household with care, and Chief always told visitors, "This is my family."
People who once looked down on Victoria now respected her. She didn't let success change her character. She helped women in similar situations and supported single mothers. As for Titi, no one heard from her again. She left quietly and stayed away. Chief never mentioned her name again. The past was over. What mattered now was the joy that came after the storm.
