Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 45
We asked for more of the tea as it went well with the food and it was not long before Elise let out a satisfied sigh as she put her chopsticks down.
“Just what I really needed to feel human again. They never fail to disappoint here, I could live on Chinese food alone!”
I called for the bill and settled up and Elise hugged Lin before we headed back to the bar. For a Sunday afternoon it was fairly busy and the waitresses were doing their usual magic with the trays of drinks.
Approaching the bar Sean said, “I wasn’t expecting to see you today. I thought you were going to hang out with Ger.”
“Well Mr No Fun here spoiled it all by needing to go back to work instead of being with me. Maybe a good thing temporarily.” She smiled at me. “Let me get changed and I’ll help out as it seems like it might get busier. Have a seat Ger and I won’t be long.”
Elise headed through the bar to go to her apartment.
“Ger? I hope that you don’t mind me saying something.” Said Sean.
“Not al all, Sean go ahead.”
“The change in the boss since she met you has been incredible. She seems to be a lot more relaxed and less tense than she was. She would have some really black days now and again but now she seems to be all lit up inside. You have really made a change in her.”
“Not a problem, Sean. We all have times like that and if something comes along to change it for the better then it is worth the effort. I was not in a good place for a while but being with Elise has made all the difference for me.”
“No worries, Ger but don’t hurt her. We all love her here and wouldn’t stand for it.”
“You have no cause on that front, Sean as I would do anything to make her happy as she does me. You have no concerns there.”
“Good on ya mate. You want a beer?”
“Why not, I don’t think I am going back to my place tonight.”
Sean laughed and opened a Budvar for me.
“Starting early are we?” Elise had snuck up behind me. “I caught the last of what was said there but I’m not going to say anything to anybody as they are just looking out for me as much as I look out for them.”
She gave me a hug and went behind the bar. I sat there just watching her as she kept up a constant chatter with the waitresses and customers giving me sly smiles when she could. As always she looked amazing with her skin tight leggings and an dark blue short skirt topped with Andy Warhol’s Campbells Soup t-shirt. Bra less as ever I noticed.
