"Kevin and Cora enjoy a quiet night in. Their mother returns from a night out and pushes things with Kevin further."

Mom was staring at me when I woke up. I sort of expected she’d slip out at some point in the night, but this time I guess not. Her head was still resting on the pillow as she gazed at me, a small, satisfied smile on her lips. A perfect beam of sunlight passed through my shades illuminating Mom’s face. It brought out the luster in her red hair, splayed out wildly on the pillow. It caught her eyes just right so they glittered like emeralds. It took my breath away. Before I knew what I was saying the words popped out.

“Wow, Mom, you’re beautiful!”

I blushed slightly at letting something so earnest escape me. Mom giggled happily, the sparkle in her eyes only intensifying. Then she scooted up slightly and stretched. I stared openly at the way her breasts pressed against the fabric of her nightgown. Her dark nipples were clearly visible through the fabric. Mom’s back cracked satisfactorily. She leaned down to give me a kiss on the cheek. As she began to pull away, I cupped her face and brought her mouth back to mine. I gave her a deep kiss, a real kiss. We were both panting when it broke, but Mom turned and climbed out of bed. She was beaming at me the whole time.

“I’m going to go make breakfast. Any requests?” She asked.

I smiled back. “Just coffee to start.”

Mom nodded at me. She half turned to walk away, then came scurrying back to plant another wet sloppy kiss on my mouth. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders, trying to pull her back into bed with me. We made out for a good thirty seconds, but Mom resisted my attempts to escalate things. Finally, she broke the kiss again.

“Right, coffee.” She said. She tousled my hair and walked out. With the sway she put in her hips (on purpose, I was sure) I hated seeing her go but I loved watching her walk away.

By the time I pulled myself together enough to head to the kitchen Cora was already sitting at the table. She was resting her head on one knee and nibbling determinedly at a pop-tart. As soon as I walked in she shot me a meaningful glance, then looked over at Mom who was humming happily while scrambling eggs. Cora’s raised eyebrow told me she had seen Mom leave my room in the morning and wanted to know what was up. If I hadn’t known better, I would have said she looked downright jealous. Astute readers will be a step ahead of me on that one.

I looked at my sister and shrugged. This did not appease her. With a pouty look on her face she mouthed the word “really?” at me. I shrugged again and whispered, “She was feeling lonely. You going to pretend you don’t understand that?”

Cora shook her head but backed off. Mom turned around suddenly and we both looked in opposite directions, pretending we hadn’t been talking about Mom behind her back. Mom’s smile broadened as we all sat down for breakfast.

It’s surprising how fast something becomes normal. Before that night, I would have said that having Mom jack me off would have been going too far with our little nightly adventures. After that night, it was just another thing that we did together sometimes. Sometimes. It’s not like that was the final hurdle for Mom and I confessing to each other, becoming a couple, and moving into the same bed. But we definitely got a lot closer. She came to my room more than in the past, and when she did I knew I was virtually guaranteed a maternal handjob.

My mood totally turned around. I went from being in perhaps the deepest depression of my entire life, no Dad, no girlfriend, just sadness, to feeling like things might actually turn out ok. Mom seemed similar. I don’t know why, it’s not like jacking me off was something we did for her, but she started smiling and laughing again the way she had before Dad died. It was really nice.

So nice I almost missed the fact that Cora was deeply troubled by the new connection between Mom and me. Sometimes, if Mom and I were bantering (flirting, is really more like it), I’d catch her staring at us with a cloudy look on her face. She started getting needy, too. After breakfast that day she seldom did anything without inviting me to join her. I did as often as I was able. Any time I couldn’t, she got upset and sullen, giving me the silent treatment for a couple days. Usually, that ended with her asking if she could spend the night in my room.

It made things a little awkward. Mom was also trying to spend more nights with me. She waited to see if Cora wanted to spend the night in mine before showing up, but we had some near misses. There were a few times Mom came in to find both of us there and she had to pretend she was just checking on us. Only once did Cora try and slip in after Mom had already come in for the night. I’m still not sure how we got away with that one. After that, I started locking my door if I wasn’t alone.

If I were smart I would have known this portended things coming to a head. But I wasn’t. And so events kept hurtling headlong toward their inevitable conclusion.
