“Wait” Whitney suddenly eyes grew big. She left Jayden arms and sprang up from the bed.

“What’s it, baby?” He asked, worriedly.

“I gotta go” She snapped quickly.

Whitney created a group chat on whatsApp as fast as she could. She added Maureen, Natalie, Desmond, Clark and John.

Hey, guys She messaged.

Whitney pocketed her phone and opened the door. She met Maureen dressing up for cla-ss.

“You’re late. I’m guessing you were at Jayden’s throu-ghout?” She sm-irked.

Whitney chuckled and nodded. Maureen looked at her phone before taking her eyes to Whitney.

“Why…did you suddenly create a group chat?” Maureen asked.

“Its Jayden birthday tomroow and I want us to throw a surprise party for him” Whitney giggled.

“Wow!” Maureen squealed and quickly dropped a message in the group chat.

Whitney’s man birthday iswho tomorrow!! Hope y’all are aware?

So, are we surprising him?? Natalie asked.

Yeah Whitney replied, looking at her phone.

So, how do we go about it?? John asked.

We need to get a venue for that Whitney replied.

I know a perfect place Clark sent.

By the way, What of Desmond?, Why isn’t he chatting??

Whitney asked.

He’s sick. He got the flu Clark answered.

Whitney faced Maureen and they smiled.

“Natalie! Natalie!” Whitney called, and took her hand off Clark who gave a quick suprise look.

“What?, What’s it?” Natalie frowned as Whitney pulled her away

“I wanna talk to you” Whitney replied as they both took their seats.

“Hmm?, About??”

“Apart from Jayden’s birthday cake, I wanna personally get him a cake expressing my feelings for him”

“Hmm…nice idea” Natalie nodded.

“I know right. You see, I’m bad in choosing cakes and I really want a good cake for him. Can you follow me before the party tomorrow. Let’s get the cake at the departmental sto-re”

“Okey dokey. I’ll help you”

“Thank you. So, are you gonna be available by 3pm tomorrow?” Whitney smiled.

“Yeah, sure”

“See you then” Whitney said, and stood up. Natalie stood up too and went to sit with Clark.

Meanwhile, Jade was sitting behind them and they never knew. She had this dire expression on her brazen face.

“Baby!” Whitney giggled, waving to Jayden as soon as he stepped into cla-ss.

“cu-pcake!” He waved back and walked to her.

Many comments rented the air. Jayden sat close to her, and they linked arms.

Soon, the lecturer walked in and everywhere went silent.

Hope we are set? Whitney messaged. She was on the bed.

However, there was no reply. And if she wasn’t oblivious, she noticed they were all online. It was 15 minutes already and nonr of them replied.

Guys!! She dropped another message.

She turned to Maureen who was on her bed, giggling and looking at her phone.

“Maureen, whats the matter??” Whitney asked and Maureen faced her.

“You are online. Why aren’t you replying the chat which I posted in the group?, Tomorrow is the day and I really need y’all cooperation” Whitney said, seriously.

“I’m really sorry. I was chatting with John and my mind skipped that for a while” Maureen said.

Whitney inhaled de-eperly.
“I’m sure that what Natalie and Clark must be busy doing. Chatting. Like they are the only ones dating. Goodness, I haven’t even heard from Desmond. Hope he is fine now?” Whitney said.

Can we all reply Whitney. She isn’t happy cause we are being snobbish Maureen sent.

Oh my!, I’m sorry, Whitney. Anyways, I already called the event planner and they are making that place worthwhile Clark sent a reply.

Okay then. What’s the location? Whitney asked.

M.R Hotel and Suites John sent.

Nice!, And Natalie…Hope you haven’t forgotten? we have to meet tomorrow by 3pm before the party. It starts by 4pm, you know. We gat only an hour

Sure. Why don’t you wanna get it on time though??. 3pm is quite late, don’t you think? Natalie said.

Nah, I want to get a good and fresh cake and i wouldn’t want anything happening to the cake on my own hands

“Gosh!”Jayden exclaimed and got on his feet. Desmond and Clark faced him.

“What’s the problem?” Clark asked.

“Whitney isn’t replying my messages. She’s online… yet, she hasn’t replied my 15 messages. What’s going on??, Did I do something wrong again, without knowing?” He asked worriedly.

Desmond and Clark exchanged glances.

“I’m sure she’ll reply. Chill” Desmond said.

Clark quickly messaged Whitney.

Jayden might go nuts. Reply his messages!!

“But, what’s taking her so long to reply? Its better I call her or maybe see her” Jayden quickly wore his jacket, he was already at the door when he heard his phone beeb.

He checked it, and saw Whitney finally replied his message.

Sorry baby for the late reply. I was online but I was actually in the shower She lied.

He heaved and laid on the bed. He chuckled, and read the message again.

Would you like to shower again? He asked.

What?, Why? Whitney asked, back.

Cause I wanna join you

Whitney.laughed and blus-hed hard.

Nau-ghty!!! She sent.

FEW HOURS LATER**

Whitney heard a knock on the door and she quickly got on her feet.

“It’s here!” She gushed.

“What’s that?” Maureen asked.

“The package. I guess the delivery man is here” She smiled and hurried to the door.

And she was right.

“Miss Whitney Kennerson?” The delivery man asked and she nodded, smiling.

“Your delivery is here…” He handed the package to her.

It was the multicolored headphone. It was fu-cking expensive but she had to get it anyways.

“Please, sign here” The delivery man said, handing a docu-ment to her.

She signed, thanked the delivery man who later left.

“Yessss!!!” Whitney squeaked, delightfully.

“Hello?” Jade said, immediately the call connected.

“Hello. We received your message and the money. Nice. So, when do we go about this?* A husky voice asked.

“Tomorrow and I’ll signal you when to your job. Just get your men ready”

“We are always ready” The man replied.

“Good. Cause, I wouldn’t wanna see any mistakes” Jade sm-irked and ended the call.

“Jayden, Let’s give you a really touching gift…should we now?” She smiled, dangerously.
