Chris excorted Dan out of the house, so as Tara.

“So, are we going to meet again?” Tara asked.

“Why should we? I’ve compensated you alre-ady” he replied.

Tara nodded.

“You are right. The k!sswas just to prove to them that you are no g@y” she said and left.

“You just hurt her feelings. I like that” Dan said.

Chris sl@pped his arm.

“You nee-d to go now. It’s getting late”

“Greetings my prince”

“Yeah… Wait what? Why are the guards here?” Dan asked, looking round.

They didn’t even notice it the first time.

Chris looked round also.

“They must be here for you” he said.

“I never asked for guards. Besides, this is too much” Dan said.

Chris smiled.

“I nee-d to go in now. Have a safe journey back home dude” he said.

“Thanks” he said and watched as Chris got into the house.

Dan stared at the guards once more. He knew that it was uncle Garrett that s£nt them here to protect his favorite queen and his son.

“Then I presume Chris is my stepbrother” he murmured.

Chris got to the kitchen where his mother was ma-king dinner.

“Mom?”

“Yes Chris?” She replied without sparing him any glance.

“Why are those palace guards outside?” He asked.

Irene st©pped. She turned and face Chris.

“Uh, they…” She didn’t know what to say. Chris was no dummy.

She took off her apron and switched off the g@s.

“I’ll have to tell you everything now” she said and walked him to the sitting room.

“What is it mom?” He asked as they both sat down.

“I honestly don’t know where to start from. You have to trust me that I didn’t mean to hide this from you Christian” she said.

“You are ma-king me scared. Just tell me what it is” he said.

“You are a prince Chris”

Chris furrowed his eyebrows and leaned back on the chair. He didn’t want to believe what his mother just said.

“I’m a what?” He asked.

“It’s a long story Chris”

“Are you kidding me mom? How on earth am I a prince?” Chris asked, almost yelling at his mother.

Irene sighed.

“I was a queen at the palace. When I was in labor, on our way to the hospital, our car got attacked by someone who is also p@rt of the palace relative. She didn’t like me at all. She threw me out of the car and sh0t me in my stomach. I was rushed to the hospital and thank goodness, you survived it. The doctor said that the bullet pas-sed throu-gh your legs and.. I didn’t get the remaining p@rt. I never wanted to return to the palace because, I knew you would be next. The would want to kill you. I left the country and lied to you about our identity, about your father” Irene said and whimpered.

Chris wished everything his mother was saying was a lie.

He just couldn’t believe it.

“So, my father is alive?” He asked and Irene nodded.

“Why didn’t you tell me all this mom?” Chris asked as tears rolled down his cheek.

“I’m sorry. I have no explanation” Irene replied.

He stood up and just went to his room.

Irene stared at him as he left.

She knew she hurt him alre-ady.

Garret sat alone on the throne. He was thinking about the call he just answered.

“Baby? Tch” he scoffed.

“What is it brother?” Casper asked as he slowly walked towards him.

“Nothing. I just found out something very interesting” Garrett replied.

“Hmm, I see. I just say, the throne look good on you” Casper said.

“I know what you are going to say next” Garret sm-irked.

“Which is?”

“But it would look better on you. Casper I know you want the throne more than I do”

“Yes I do. But not like then. I’m losing interest in it alre-ady. Being with my wife and kids is what keeps me happy” Casper said.

Garret smiled at his brother.

“You never told me that you were married” he said.

“Yeah, you never asked” Casper replied.

“That’s very good. When everything is back to normal, you wife and kids can come to the palace”

“Thank you my king” he said and Garret laughed.

“Garret! Garret!” Rachel stormed into the throne room.

“What is it Rachel? Why do you call my name without respect?!” Garret quic-kly changed his attitude to his sister.

He now hated her more than before since Irene made him realize that she was the cause of him being weak and her being away”

Rachel swallowed ha-rd and exhaled de-eply.

“I’m sorry my king!” She said disrespectfully.

“What do you want?”

“I heard you summoned them guards to Irene’s house. Why would you do that?”

“She’s my queen and nee-ds to be protected from people like you” Garrett replied too soon.

“I see you are scared that I’ll kill her just as I did before” Rachel sm-irked.

“You didn’t succeed the last time and you won’t again. If you in any way kill Irene, I swear by my sword, I’ll kill you myself”

Rachel was surprised, she never expected this from Garret. But that won’t st©p her.

“I won’t get scared by your little threats” she said and turned to leave.

“Rachel?” Casper called.

She st©pped and turned to look at her.

“What?”

“If you don’t st©p, you’ll get killed by someone or something you never expected. Beware!”

“Whatever!” She said and left.

Amber was in Dan’s room, pleading with him.

“I’m sorry, it was a mistake” she pleaded but Dan was on his earphones.

“Are you even listening?” She asked, still no response.

She re-moved his earphones and threw them to the floor.

“Can you listen now?”

Dan sat up.

“What do you want?”

“I nee-d you to take me to Chris so that I can apologise” she said.

Dan shook his head.

“Chris doesn’t want to see you” he said.

“Are you sure about that?” She asked.

He nodded and Amber bur-st into tears.

Dan squee-zed his face.

“Okay okay! What would you do for him?”

“I can do anything for him. I promise” she said and cleaned her tears.

“Okay, you just write an epistle, apologising to him about the fake news. Then I’ll do the rest”

“Really?” She asked.

Dan nodded.

Amber stood up and ran out of the room.

Dan was quic-k to lock his room. He picked up his earphones and continued what he was doing.

“Are you dumb? I said, I want to see Irene!” Rachel yelled at the guard who was standing by the door.

“I’m sorry, the king has ordered that you shouldn’t be allowed in” he said.

Tasha was also there. She stepped forward.

“What about me?”

“Both of you!” He said again.

“What? I am the queen and you should also obey me” Tasha yelled.

“I’m sorry, I can’t disobey the king’s order”

The door opened and Irene stepped out.

“I should have known it was you” she said.

“Greetings my queen. Sorry for the disturbance”

“It’s okay. Let them in” she said and entered into the house.

Rachel and Tasha held their robe and entered into the house.

“Why are you two here?” Irene asked, without offering them a seat.

“Aren’t you going to ask is to sit?” Tasha asked.

“Why should I? Do you own this place?” Irene asked, giving her a questioning look.

“I’m not here to sit but to warn you. You love your son and your stupid life. Get out of this country while you can. I don’t want you anywhere close to the palace”

“And what if she doesn’t?”

They heard another voice.

They stared at the staircase and saw Chris.

He walked towards them.

“If my mom doesn’t do what you said, what can you do?” He asked again.
