{ THE MEETING }

MORNING CITY ~

“It’s time for break fast sweet” Rex said as he showered her face with kisses until she finally open her eyes.

“I wanna sleep some more” she grumbled softly but Rex help her seat up.

“You will get to but after you eat. Remember that it’s the doctor order” Rex said and that got her out of bed.

She was eating when she noticed the formal attire on him.

“Are you going out?”

“To the company, have got to check out some things ” he replied.

“Have got some guards waiting out side for you, you will be fine alone right?” He asked which got her nodding in return.

“I will, just hurry back home” She said and quickly he gave her a kiss on the forehead.

“A hotel suite is hardly a home. Once you are fit enough, we will go out in search of a home” He said which got her grinning in excitement.

“I can’t wait”

With one last kiss, Rex left her at the hotel.

He was at the lobby waiting for his car to be brought by his guard when two police car stopped in front of him.

“That’s him! He is the one” A middle age man said pointing at Rex and immediately two police men took hold of him.

“What are you doing?” Rex asked as he tried to pull away.

“Where is my daughter! Where have you taken her?” The middle age man asked.

“What daughter are you…..”

“Let me make it clear to you. A month ago, you kidnapped a girl and since then she hasn’t been seen. You’ve manage to hide from us but you’ve been caught today and so it’s best that you tell us where Violet Bradford is?” The police in charge said to him.

“Are you Violet parents?” Rex asked the middle age man and woman who stood glaring at him.

“We are and you better make sure my daughter is safe or I…..”

“Dad, mom!” Violet called from behind and immediately they went towards her, giving her a tight hug.

“Are you okay?” Melody Bradford asked and she nodded.

“Did he do anything to you? Am sorry i doubted you, I should have trust you ” Melody said with tears in her eyes.

“Am fine mom. You don’t have to cry” she said wiping the tears off..

“Take that man to jail, we will be suing him for kidnapping ” Luther said and that got Violet pulling away from her parent.

“No!” She screamed as she went towards Rex.

“What are you doing? That man abducted you” Luther reminded her.

“He didn’t abduct me” Violet lied.

“But the guard you were with told us that you were….”

“He didn’t abduct me! How can the father of my child do that to me?” She asked startling them apart from Rex.

“What did you just say?” Luther asked.

“He is the father of my unborn child and so get rid of the cops cause if they insist on taking him, I will surely go with him” Violet declared.

A while later they all sat together in the hotel suite starring at each other.

“Start explaining” Luther said.

“I….” Rex was about to speak when Violet stopped him.

“It’s true that Rex did abduct me but that was due to the fight we both had” she began.

“Fight? Did you know him before he abduct you?” Melody asked her daughter who nodded in reply.

“I fell for Rex when I met him some few months earlier but then we had a misunderstanding and when he tried to explain things to me, I ignored him and even made things hard for him just so he would leave me alone and his only option was to abduct me”

“He took me back to his home town and won my heart again. I know the way he did it was wrong but am glad that he abducted me” She added sending a smile at Rex.

“No matter what fight you two had, you should never have taken our daughter. Do you know how worried we were when we got the news of her being abducted?” Luther asked.

“When exactly did you get the news of my being abducted?”

“A week ago” Her father replied looking away in guilt.

“If you had never gotten the news then you two wouldn’t have searched for me, right?” Violet asked.

“We thought you’ve gone off with your friends ” Melody replied.

“It’s okay. Sephy and I are used to the way you care about us and as have said Rex is the father of my child and I will keep staying with him” Violet said.

“What do you have to say about this Mr.” Luther asked starring at Rex.

“Just as Violet said, am the father of her child and I love her dearly. I know you both dislike me due to how I abducted your daughter and am sure you want me to leave her life but I can’t do that. I really love Violet and I want to dedicate myself to her and our child” Rex said which got Violet swelling with pride.

“Very well said. You know that the next step you are taking is to marry our daughter right?” Luther asked which surprised Violet.

“Dad, you….”

“I know and am ready to marry her wherever and whenever ” he replied cutting Violet off.

“That’s good then. We have nothing to feel concerned about in your case” Luther said getting out of his seat.

“Have you heard from Sephy?” Melody asked.

“How will she when she took off with her lover, they must still be in hiding” Luther said in anger.

“Did she really run off with her lover?”Melody asked.

Violet and Rex stared at each other knowing the situation and once again Violet decided to speak.

“She’s doing fine. She called me and told me that she’s happy with him, so you don’t have to worry about her” Violet assured.

A while later when both her parents had left, Rex pulled her into his arms.

“Will lying to them about Sephy be okay?” Rex asked.

“It will. After all she’s with a man that makes her happy” Violet replied.

“About us, you really intend to marry me?” Violet asked.

“I do” Rex replied.

“I love you ” Violet said which got him kissing her in return.
