Garret went to the hall and saw Irene dancing with Leo. She was smiling broadly as well. He just kept quiet and stared at them silently.

His father walked up to him.

“Why aren’t you dancing?”

Garret stared at his father and gave a wry laugh.

“Why aren’t you dancing too gather?”

“Seem like my son stole my bride” he replied.

Garret stared at Tony dancing with his mother.

“Well, it seem so to me as well. My bride was stolen”

“Stolen bride!” They both said together and laughed.

They st©pped laughing at the same time.

Garret turned and face his father.

“Would you dance with me dad?”

“Oh, sure. My bride” he tea-sed him.

They both danced together for a short period of time till the chief c@m£.

He hit his staff countless number of times to get everyone’s attention but the music and their murmurs was far louder that his staff.

Frederick shook his head and walked towards him.

“Chief, use the microphone”

“What’s a microphone?” He asked with a cracked voice.

Frederick sl@pped his forehead and picked the microphone.

“Attention everyone!”

Immediately, everyone stared at Fredrick and the music st©pped.

Chief frowned.

“Modern days!”

“Thank you for your attention. This old man would want to speak to everyone of you” he said and handed him the microphone.

At first, chief didn’t want to take it. He later gr@bb£d it.

“Everyone, welcome! It’s time to check if any of the wonderful prince pas-s the royal test in becoming the next king”

Casper walked down the stairs. He wore a royal white robe and also styled his hair. He didn’t want to look bad when he will be announced as the next king.

“Now, we will open the box and watch as the snake crawl out. But first, I want the five prince to stand in front here”

They all walked towards the front and stood straight.

“Wait! How do we find the next queen? What if she’s not in the palace?”

“Let’s wait if any of the prince actually found her”

They all questioned.

“Quiet plea-se. Let the snake do it’s job” chief said and opened the box.

Everyone heart standing pounding as the snake crawl out of the box. It walked down from the throne and moved to the audience.

Some of them were scared.

Irene just smiled at the snake as it crawled.

She liked the snake the moment but healed the queen.

But she found it very weird.

The snake crawled towards the princes and went round then five times.

It st©pped for a moment.

The king sighed.

“I know they won’t make it” he said and looked away. He didn’t want to watch.

The queen sniffed in and held his hand.

Her eyes wi-de-ned when she saw what the snake was doing.

“Oh no, watch!”

He quic-kly turned his head and saw as the snake went round Garret’s feet.

Garrett wished he could pick it up and throw it away.

“Ohh!!! The next king has been found!” The chief yelled.

Everyone cheered.

Irene was shocked. She never knew Garret was seeing someone else.

She wondered how he bec@m£ the next king.

“Now, he has to marry the chos£n girl” she thought and slowly cl@pped for him.

Casper was shocked.

He stared at the snake and brou-ght his leg closer to it.

“No! It’s a mistake! I’m supposed to be the next king” he yelled.

Everyone st©pped and stared at Casper.

“What’s going on?”

“What’s he saying?”

“Next king? How?”

They all murmured.

“I.. sle-pt with Irene first. Okay? The snake is cheating!” He yelled.

The chief frowned.

“What are you saying?”

“Ask him, Garrett never sle-pt with Irene”

Leo, Tony and Fredrick g@sped and stared at Irene.

“I sle-pt with Irene and I know I was the first”

“I knew you were up to something Casper. What made you think I never sle-pt with Irene?”

“Then prove it. When did you sleep with Irene?”

That night…

Irene stared at Garret.

“So, what do you want?”

“Nice Irene” he replied.

“What’s nice?” She asked.

“I want you Irene” he whispered.

Irene sh0t her eyes wi-de open and glared at him.

She pushed him and walked away from him.

Garrett pu-ll-ed her back and pinned her on the wall.

“That’s what I want” he said again.

“Garrett…” She said in a low voice as he danced his f!nger on her skin.

She breath slowly.

Garret drew hisl-ips closer to her and k!$$£d her on the n£¢k.

She g@sped and looked away. He sli-pped his hands into her dress and slowly re-moved it.

“I’ll take it easy with you. I promise” he said.

Irene nodded.

Casper g@sped.

“No, I won’t take that”

Irene closed her mouth in surprise. She didn’t believe that she was the wanted v!rg!nall along.

She also never believed that Casper sle-pt with her, more like r@p£.

“You R@p£d me Casper!” She said.

Casper turned and stared at her.

“I did. No, I mean. I just…”

Garrett gr@bb£d Casper by the n£¢k.

“How dare you t©uçh Irene!” He gro-an ed.

Irene wished she could st©p him, but no. She won’t. She never knew that animal would t©uçh her.

How dirty!

She sniffed in and ran upstairs.

Garret let go of Casper and went after Irene.

Casper adjusted his robe and frowned.

“I still can’t take this. I hate this tradition and it must st©p!” He yelled and went away.

“plea-se everyone, continue to enjoy and merry” the king said.

He was the happiest, happy that no stranger would take over the throne.

Even the queen was happy that a good lady would be the next queen. She was really happy that it was Irene.

Leo was happy that his brother was the next king but not happy that Irene would be the next queen and his wife. He wanted to get married to Irene.

Tony was happy for everyone.

Happy for Garret, happy for his best friend, Irene.

The chief has done his work.

What’s left was to crown Garret as the next king and Irene as the next queen.

He watched the snake as it crawled back in the box.

He closed it and locked it.

It would take a long time before they open the box.

“Take it away!”

Two guards c@m£ and took the box away.
