“Finally” Desmond muttered, immediately the bus stopped.

Everyone started coming down carefully and steadily.

Whitney sighed and faced her side. Jayden’s head was on her shoulder. He was asleep.

“Jay- She paused, mesmerizing her eyes on him.

“Gosh” She breathed out, de-eperly. Probably, trying to hold her hidden tears.

“Aren’t you gonna wake him? I gotta go” John said.

Whitney looked at him.

“Sorry. Huh…John?”

“Yes?” He answered.

“Thank…you” She whispered.

He scoffed.

“For what exactly? Me covering you guys as-ses up or what?”

Whitney sighed, and faced Jayden.

“Jayden?” She called and he slowly opened his eyes.

“Wakey wakey. We are here already” She smiled.

“Oh…I slept a bit much, huh?”

“A little” She chuckled.

He stood up and she did too.

“Let’s go” She smiled.

He nodded and they alighted.

Clark opened the door after hearing a knock and Jayden came in.

“Jay!” Clark smiled.

“Hey, buddy” Jayden muttered, walking to his bed.

“You back?” Clark asked.

“I guess so” Jayden winked.

He sat down and looked at Desmond who was laying on the bed, covering his eyes and forehead with his arm.

“Desmond? Hey?” He called in a low voice.

Desmond body je-rked a bit.

“Hmm?” He answered, his eyes still not going to him. His arm was still over his face.

“So, Uh…I wanna tell you something”

“Hmm…Hmm?”

“In private?” Jayden uttered and Desmond slowly took his hand down.

Clark looked at the two and left the room.

“Soooo…What’s the deal?” Desmond asked, and shared a glance with him.

Jayden sighed.

“I…just wanna say I’m sorry for hitting you then. I was being so sentimental. I’m sorry” He said.

“So, why did hit me in the first place?, You were jealous, I guess?” Desmond cooed.

“Huh…Its no big deal. Its fine now, okay? So,,, friends?” Jayden asked.

Desmond looked at him.
“I guess?”

“You guess?”

“Maybe”

“You’re being frivolous right now” Jayden said.

“I’m saying this cause of Whitney. I don’t want a guy using her and toying with her heart” Desmond said, flatly.

“This guy? And I suppose you aren’t referring to me?” Jayden said.

Desmond shrugged.

“Not exactly…But what I really mean is that, I’m gonna kill you if you mess with her. So, please…love her proper. Treat her right”

Jayden scoffed.

“She’s my girlfriend. You won’t tell me how I’m gonna love and treat her, alright…”

Desmond smiled, warmly.

“Come on. Don’t take it to heart. Besides, I’m just trying to advice you…as a friend” He said, tactfully.

“You mean threaten” Jayden smiled.

“Well, You could say that” Desmond chuckled and Jayden threw a pillow at him.

“Des,,, I know you have feelings for Whitney but I’m asking you to stop. Please” Jayden said, cooly.

“A matter of dude. Its fine. I won’t steal her. She’s all yours” Desmond chuckled and threw the pillow back to Jayden who smiled.

“Hey…What’s it? You haven’t been yourself since we came in..Missing the lounge already?” Jade asked.

Whitney looked up and shook her head.

“Its not that…actually”

Jade smiled and sat close to her. She rested Whitney’s head on her lap-s and patted her hair fondly.

“Talk to me darling” She whispered.

“Actually, I think ..I’m gonna leave WSU” Whitney whispered, like she was gonna cry from any moment.

Jade eyes wide-ned a bit.
“When?, Sorry…I mean Why?? Why??” She asked, acting shocked.

“You know the first time I came here. I told you my mother is a nomad. She never stays quiet in one particular place. And, I think I might be moving again”

Jade briefly lifted a brow.
“And why’s that?” She asked.

Whitney bit her lower li-p strongly.
“Cause the reason to stay here more…might be shattered. It’s gonna end soon”

Jade sighed.

“Don’t worry. You’ll be fine. I promise”

“Do you know?…” Whitney said, her voice trailing off.

“That, you were the reason I wanted to stay in WSU. The reason I made this game with Jayden. You were the main reason I didn’t want to leave. The reason I even lied to my mum. I wanted to stay here in WSU with you…” Whitney whispered and Jade blinked, confusedly.

“Huh? Meaning?”

“But…The reason why I want to continue staying back here isn’t because of you any longer” Whitney muttered, taking her head up.

“I’m confused right here” Jade said.

“The reason I wanna keep staying. The reason I don’t wanna leave here anymore is cause of Jayden”

“Whitney? Can you make me un-derstand? My brain is about you fu-cking explode here, please” She said.

“Jade. I trust you and I want you to listen to me” Whitney whispered and Jade nodded, calmly.

“Actually, My mum wanted to leave Washington as she normally did but I didn’t want to leave. After getting attached to you? It was a big No”

“My mum once promised to grant me a longer stay, if I had a boyfriend cause you know, I’ve never had one before. So…” She shrugged her shoulders and made a silly sound.

“So, I needed to do something. I needed a boyfriend, in short. When I got to know Jayden made a bet for me to be his girlfriend, I stepped in for it. I knew it was a game with risk but I just wanted a boyfriend and he happened to be there”

“So, we started fake dating and I made a contract but…now,,, I think I…I love him so much, and I also think we can’t last anymore” She whispered, sadly.

“This is so insane. Why can’t you two last anymore?” Jade asked.

“Someone apart from Jayden and I knows about the fake relationship, and this person sent a recording which has the secret dialogue between I and Jayden to John”

“The person might reveal it to the world and once, my mum sees it. Its over. The end. The Kennersons are gonna leave, once again” She sighed.

“fu-ck!!! I’m so shocked, happy and annoyed right now but I un-derstand your plight” Jade said.

“I’m shocked cause of this whole fakey and contract relationship thingy. I’m happy I was the initial reason of your stay here and I’m annoyed cause you’re just telling me this now?. Anyways, I’m glad you were able to rely on me and open up to me. I love you” Jade smiled and hug-ged her.

“Me too, Jade. Youre one of a kind and I’m sorry for not telling you sooner”

“Its fine. So, who was this person that sent the stuff to John?” Jade asked.

“That thing called Green shadow. And I think that person is close. I would have said it’s Natalie but…I don’t really know” She muttered.

Jade broke the hug and looked at her face.

“And…what do you mean?” Jade asked.

“That same green shadow exp-osed Natalie too according to Jayden….So, it can’t be her. Why would she risk and exp-ose herself kis-sing Clark like that when she still had feelings for Jayden. Its foolish. This puzzle needs common sense. It can’t be Natalie but I feel that person is fu-cking close to me and knows a lot about me”

Jade heart missed a beat.

“So…What are you insinuating??” Jade asked.

Whitney sighed.

“What I know is that…that green shadow is really close to me than I think and that person likes Jayden. Green shadow is pratically trying to take away all the girls Jayden has eyes for. Can’t you see?”

“Huh…So. It can’t be Natalie. huh?”

“Yup. We need to be vigilant. Anyways. I think I need to meet the security men very soon before ending things with Jayden”

“Huh? Why??”

“Cause they promised to hand me the CCTV footage whenever it ready”

“What CCTV footage?” Jade demandeed.

Whitney came closer.

“It shows the green shadow who had dropped the acid and letter on Natalie’s front door” She whispered.

Jade eyes wide-ned and
blinked quickly, and anxiously.

“So,,, you haven’t watched it yet, huh?” Jade slowly stood up.

“Yeah. Not yet but soon. I just need a call from the security peeps and I’ll move there with haste to get the footage”

Jade swallowed ha-rd and slowly walked backwards.

“Where are you off to? Don’t you wanna rest? Or aren’t you tired of the long exhausting trip we just had?” Whitney asked, yawning already.

Jade chuckled, nervously and scratched her head.

“I’ll be right back. I just remembered something important. Gotta go” She said and scurried off.

Whitney de-eperly sighed and looked at the ceiling in very de-eper thoughts. Afterwards, she fell into de-eper slumber.
