“Desmond?” He heard someone mutter his name.

He quickly opened his dewy eyes and let out a small gasp.

“Are you crying?” The figure asked, pointing at the slim tear which escaped down his eyes.

“Huh?..No.. No. Actually, something entered my eye. What are you doing here, Mr Ricardo?” Desmond asked.

“I just came from you guys room. But Clark said Jayden went packing. Why?” Mr Ricardo asked as he walked futher.

“Sir!” He shouted, suddenly.

“You can’t go” Desmond shaked his head.

“Why not?”

“Dad?” Jayden murmured, his eyes almost popping out from his sockets.

Whitney gasped and quickly got up from his thi-ghs.

“Did my eyes see clearly?” Ricardo was smiling.

“New girlfriend?” He asked.

Whitney eyes got down, instantly.

Jayden looked at her and inhaled de-eperly. He stood up and shaked his head.

“No…She isn’t” He whispered.

“What? Why were you kis-sing her then? de-eperly for that matter. Jayden? Are you being a bad boy now?”

“Uhh? No, Dad. Not at all”

Ricardo sighed and walked to Whitney, who kept her head lower.

“I’m sorry. I guess I didn’t train him well. He’s such a spoilt brat”

Whitney slowly took her head, sideways to Jayden. Her eyes and mood showed that all was not well.

“After doing that to me? You deny me? je-rk!! We’ll see about that…” She thought in fury.

“I warned you” Her consciousness seemed to laugh.

“Sir,,, Actually. He’s lying” She whispered.

Jayden raised his brows and looked at her, praying she wouldn’t say anything.

“I and Jayden…we are dating” She said and looked up.

“He said he wants to hide it from you. Maybe that’s why he lied. I can’t watch him lie to his own father, though. It only breaks my heart” She faked a sob and grabbed her che-st ti-ghtly.

“Huh? Why is he trying to hide it from me?”

“Dad. Why are you here?” Jayden asked, trying to change the subject with a for-ced smile on his face

“I came to see you. Wanted to ask if you were gonna be free next 20 days to come. Besides, I missed you”

“So, Is she really your girlfriend? Why are you trying to hide it from me?”

Jayden sighed and looked at Whitney.

“Yes, She’s my girlfriend” He replied.

The way his serious voice sounded made Whitney heart flutter and her gaze were de-eperened on him.

“Wow. Seriously??”

“Yes. Dad, I’m sorry for lying then. I was meaning to surprise you. Oops, We’ve caught us so…we gotta spill” He faked a giggle.

“Its fine. Its fine” Ricardo smiled.

“I’m glad to see you dating again. I thought the heartbreak you received from those two girls wouldn’t allow you date again. Oh, the 1st girl didn’t give you an heartbreak. You two separated, right?”

Jayden nodded, once and nervously.

“What of Natalie. I heard she’s back?” His father asked.

“I would be really glad and great if you don’t talk about her” Jayden muttered.

“Oh…Pardon me then. Anyways, Let’s meet 20 days from now. We’ll have a wonderful dinner together. Please, bring your girlfriend along”

The two fake couples exchanged glances.

Whitney gulped.

“Whitney Kennerson, sir”

“Nice to meet you, Whitney. Please, do show up, Whitney. And, I suppose you know who I am?”

“Very well sir”

He laughed.

“And I suppose you’ll come?”

“Oh no!” Ricardo cried and held his che-st.

“My heart. My doctor said it has failing lately cause I keep hearing what I shouldn’t hear. What to do?! Ouch!! My fragile heart” He sobbed, squ-atting to the ground.

“Dad!” Jayden ran to him.

“Oh no…What am I gonna do?” Whitney muttered, shaking her hands.

Jayden looked at her.

“Agree, quick”

“Huh?”

“Say you’ll be there” He whispered.

She nodded, vigorously.

“Mr Ricardo. I’ll be there!” She screamed.

He cleared his throat and got up with the aid of Jayden.

“Wow. I’m fine now” He dusted his body.

“So, I’ll see you then?” He brou-ght his arm closer.

She accepted the hand shake with a nervous smile.

“Yes” She nodded.

They left their hands and Ricardo faced Jayden.

“I’ll send you the grand location. Its gonna be lit” He winked and left.

“Jayden slowly sat down on the bed.

“Darn. What just happened? That…that was just my illusion right?”

Whitney folded her li-ps.
“I gotta go, bye”

Jayden mumbled, and scattered his hair before falling on the bed.

Whitney opened the door pa-nting.

“Gosh” She muttered and laid on the bed.

“Where have you been?” Jayden looked at her.

“With Jayden” She replied, holding her teddy bear closer.

“Jade?”

“Hmm?”

“How would you feel if a guy that kis-sed you suddenly denied you?”

“Why? Did Jayden kis-s you, someone caught you both and he denied?” Maureen voice came as she quickly came out from the toilet, which followed with a flushing sound.

“Girl!! Your poo stinks! Use the air fresher!” Jade screamed.

She stood up, got the air fresher and sprayed it around.

“Use your toilet for goodness sake! Darn!” She complained.

Maureen rolled her eyes and walked to Whitney who was nervously blinking her eyes.

“So, who saw you both? And Jayden is a je-rk! Why would he deny you? Is he really your boyfriend?”

“No…” Whitney shook her head.

“What?” Her two friends asked, looking at her.

“Hey!!” Maureen screamed and snapped the teddy bear from Whitney’s hands.

She threw it on Jade.

“Hey!! bo-oby!!” Whitney screamed and ran to her teddy bear.

“Wait? What did she just call her teddy?” Maureen blinked, shockingly.

“I thought I was the only one that heard that wrong. You heard it wrong too, right?” Jade asked.

“Dummies! My teddy bear is bo-oby!” Whitney pouted laying on the bed.

“Wait? bo-oby(colloquial)? Like in boo-bs?, Another word for bre-ast ?? Babe,,, what sorta name is that?” Maureen asked.

“Well, It just kinda happened” She shrugged.

“You said that denial stuff happened to one of your friends?” Jade asked.

“Yeah” Whitney nodded.

“But I thought you told me you just recolated to Washington and you got no friends. Well, except us?”

“Huh…Uh, Yeah.. Yeah. So, hmm,,, I mean, my Facebook friend. Yeah, My Facebook friend. she posted something about that, Yeah” Whitney laughed, nervously.

She laid on the bed and soon, thoughts flooded in.
