“Mum!” Whitney squeaked.
“Are you alright?” She asked, worriedly though she was aware of the stunt she just pulled.

“Yeah. Yeah. I’m…I’m fine” Shannon ru-bbed her head, stuttering.

Whitney let out a low sigh and faced the broken coffee cu-p.

“I’ll clean that up now. I’ll be back” She smiled at Jayden and he nodded, quietly.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

Shannon looked at him nervously and smiled.

Soon, Whitney was back with a long broom and a dustpan.

She tidied the whole place afterwards.

“Mum? You are unusually quiet. Is everything alright?” Whitney looked at her mother who was thinking and staring blank into space.

“Yeah. Sure. I’m… I’m very much fine”

Whitney nodded.

“I’m gonna go take bobby” She said and left.

Shannon swallowed ha-rd and looked at Jayden whose eyes were scanning the beautiful sitting room.

“Is Ricardo Jovel really your father?” She asked, without thinking twice.

Jayden looked at her and nodded.
“Yeah. Why asking again? Thought she just told you”

“Its just…I’m happy you are from a rich home. You got lots of money,,, I guess?” Shannon laughed, awkwardly.

“Huh…Yeah, kinda”

“I’m back” Whitney said and then faced Jayden who was looking at her.

“Did you miss me? Don’t tell me you did? Gosh!” She tapped him heavily.

“Why can’t you do without me for even a minute. I missed you too…Awwnn” She faked a blus-h and tou-ched her cheeks.

Jayden ru-bbed the affected area he got hit.

“What’s wrong with her now?” He thought.

“Let’s go” Whitney stretched her arm forward. Her other arm was around her huge puffy teddy bear which glued to her body.

Jayden held her hand and they both stood up. Afterwards, they both faced Shannon.

“Mum? I’m leaving now” She smiled.

“Oh…Okay then. Have a safe trip back”

Whitney nodded.

“Thanks for the courtesy, ma’am” Jayden uttered.

“Anytime” Shannon replied.
She faced Whitney and saw a small black polytene bag with her.

“What’s in there?” Shannon asked.

“Ah…actually its my childhood pictures. Decided to take them to my hostel” Whitney replied.

“Okay” Shannon nodded.

“Okay mum…Bye” Whitney smiled, waving. written by sommy pearl f.

“Bye” She waved back at them till they left her sight.

The instant they did, she ran to the window and looked down at them, in de-eper thoughts.

Whitney eyes suddenly went up and Shannon’s eyes wide-ned, seeing she had already been caught of peeping.

Whitney smiled and waved again. Nervously, Shannon waved back.

“Goodness” She muttered and walked upstairs to her room.

“I just wanna scream. I wanna scream my lungs out” She said, aloud and stood at the center of her room.

She covered her ears and inhaled de-eperly.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!” She screamed, very loudly till she found her voice cracking.

She sighed de-eperly and dropped her body on the floor.

“Wait. That means…I won’t se-duce Ricardo? I can’t se-duce my daughter’s boyfriend father for goodness sake” She muttered, holding a handful of her hair.

“Ahhhhhhhhh!” She screamed again.

“Darn it! I’ve no money! Should I go for another man or probably just start a job here till the 100 days is over??”

“My money!!! My heart!!!!” Shannon screamed and sque-ezed her che-st.

Her phone rang and she took it from the bed. She accepted the call immediately.

“Hello?” She answered.

“We are calling NeeBee’s Dental Clinic. You made an online appointment which is 30 minutes from now” The caller said.

“Please, I’m sorry but I’m not in the mood now. Can I reschedule?” Shannon asked.

“Sure. Please, you can reschedule online too”

“Alright…” Shannon said and hanged the call.

Grrrrr Her stomach growled, signifying it needed food.

Shannon looked at her stomach with a heavy frown on her face.

“F”ck you!! I just lost my client and my money!! And you want food?? Fu-ck you!” She shouted and punched her stomach.

“Ouch!” She whimpered and ma-ssaged it.

“That Fu-cking hurt” She groa-ned.

She managed to stand up and finally walked to the other room. She opened the door and met Liam still sleeping.

“Baby?” She called.

There was no reply but she said it anyways;

“I’m going to the market okay? We’ve run out of foodstuffs” She said and closed the door.

She inhaled de-eperly and checked the time on her silver writwatch.

“4pm?” She arched her brows and finally left, locking the door on Liam.

Shannon spent one hour and 45 minutes at the busy and big market.

She was coming back, walking on the road side trying to get a taxi when a car suddenly pulled by her side.

The windscreen winded down and she looked wondering who it was.

“Noel?” She muttered.

“Hey, Shannon? Coming from the market?” He asked, and glanced at her huge polythene bags.

“Yeah”

“That looks heavy. Mind if I drop you?”

“Thanks. My car ran out of gas actually and I couldn’t waste a minute time” She explained and entered the car., sitting by his side.

During the drive, Noel noticed Shannon’s expression. She looked quite worried and sad.

“You alright?” Noel asked.

She looked at him but his eyes were on the road.

“No, actually. I’m not alright” She shook her head.

“Why? What’s wrong?”

“Its personal” She muttered and kept her head on the windscreen.

“I really need to feel better. I’m not really okay right now” She said.

“What do you want to do?” He stopped his car and looked at her

She looked back at him and for-ced a smile.
“Do you wanna have a drink with me?”

BIG BENNY HOUSE, 6PM**

“That was quite a long ride” Jayden muttered.

Whitney was behind him, bi-ting her lower li-p and walking slowly.

“I must have been crazy” She thought and hit her head.

She let out a loud exhalation.
“Jayden?” She called and he turned to her.

“About the kis-s. I’m sorry but I just wanted to shut you up. You keep talking about my bo-obs to my mum and it wasn’t that great. You shouldn’t have done that” She cooed and dropped her eyes down.

“Forget about it. I think bo-obs thingy are your nature. I noticed”

He smi-rked at her.

“Anyways, you broke the 1st rule in the contract, you know? So,,, That means you owe me?”

“Sure? What do you want? A 10 dollar bill?”

“What the- Oh no…But later. I’ll tell you what I want later”

“Okay then. Goodbye” She waved and walked past him, and then entered her room.

A BAR, 7:39PM**

“Shannon? It’s getting late and you are drunk, already. You should stop” Noel advised, shaking his head.

He was getting a bit drunk too. His eyes were dizzy. His head was throbbing.

“I shouldn’t have drink in the first place. I can’t keep on drinking. Shannon is one persistent woman” He smiled, within.

“Hey!” Shannon suddenly shouted.

“Why are you smiling? Are you laughing at me? Are you?” She talked with a heavy frown.

“Oh no. Not at all” He shook his head.

“Then, why are you laughing at me? Is it because I lost my money? Is it?” She sobbed, childishly.

“You’re really drunk. Hey, Don’t cry…okay? Wait,,, You lost your mon-

“Drink” She gave him a bottle.

“What? I can’t. I’m getting drunk already”

“What? No! Why…Why would I?” He wide-ned his eyes.

“Then, why aren’t you drinking? Pleaseeeee….drink with me”

He sighed de-eperly and quickly sent for an uber driver cause he knew he would be drunk later on.

“Cheers” She raised her bottle.

“Cheers” He clic-ked his bottle against hers.

“Now,,, Let’s drink!” She giggled.

Noel sighed and nodded.
