Hazel’s POV

I was still pla-ying with the kids, when my phone beeped. I check and see it’s a text from Miranda.

Call me, we nee-d to talk

The text says. What could she want to say?.

“Kids, I’ll be right back. I have to call someone urgently”

” Okay” they chorus.

I smile and b!ow them a k!ss. I walked to a quiet corner and dialed Miranda’s number, she picked on the first ring.

Miranda:- Hey, Hazel. Can you believe it? Yesterday’s news was lite, my boss praised me!.

I roll my eyes. Then what she said registered in my head, my grow wi-de in shock.

Me:- What? You published it?

Miranda:- Yep. And it was blast.

No, this is bad. Is this why Kurt decided to tell me about his past?.

Me:- You know, things are not always what they seem like, Miranda.

Miranda:- What do you mean?

I sigh.

Me:- How about you have an interview with Kurt and hear what he’ll have to say.

Miranda:- Hazel, are you holding out on me? Have tell you about his secrets? Tell me, remember you’re helping me save innocent lives.

Innocent lives?. She’s ma-king it seem as if Kurt had killed someone, and besides those people are not innocent at all. They oppress and still from the poor.

I can’t let Miranda know about Kurt’s secrets. His secrets are his past.

Me:- No, he hasn’t told me anything.

Miranda:- But in case he tells you, you have to tell me immediately.

I nee-d to tell her, I can’t do this anymore.

Me:- I can’t.

Miranda:- You can’t? Why?.

Me:- I can’t help you on this anymore. You can do it yourself.

She stays silent for some minutes, before she begin again.

Miranda:- Is it because of the pregnancy? I told you to ab-ort it, it’ll hinder our mission.

Me:- It has nothing to do with my baby. And I will never ab-ort my child, don’t ever say that again.

Miranda:- I guess you’re not in the right state of mind now. I’ll call you some other time to discuss this.

Then she hangs up.

I head back to the kids. After pla-ying hide and seek with them, we decided to sing nursery rhymes.

As we were singing, I began to feel dizzy. I stand up, heading toward a tap I walk past not long ago.

I managed to make it to the tap, but I couldn’t turn it on before I feel myself falling to the ground, and then everything is blank.

Kurt’s POV

I was talking with Natalie when James walks in. I excused Natalie and went to a corner with James.

“Have you done the transfer to the orphanage’s account?”

“Yes. And the supplies have been delivered too” he said.

” Good”

He looks around as if looking for someone.

” Where’s Hazel?” He asks.

“pla-ying with the kids” I replied.

He nods.

“Have you told her about your past?”

” Yeah, but I bet you, you’re gonna be disappointed when this info doesn’t leak out”

” You really do trust her a lot, right?”

“Yeah” I replied.

“Well, let’s wait till tomorrow morning and see if it doesn’t come out in the morning paper” he said.

I shake my head. I un-derstand James though, it wasn’t easy to cover my past. So it coming out now is something we never expected.

Just at that moment, Samuel, one of the kids run towards us.

“Kurt! Help, Hazel just fainted!” He said.

” Come on, take me to her” I said.

He runs in front of me.

When we got there, I see Hazel lying on the ground. My breath hitched, no plea-se don’t die.

“Hazel! Hazel!” I shake her, but she’s not moving.

I feel her pulse, she’s still breathing. I quic-kly carry her in my arms and head towards Natalie’s room.

Natalie runs towards me, when she sees me carrying Hazel.

“What happened?” She asks.

“I don’t know! Sam just told me she fainted” I said in a shaky voice.

” Bring her inside” she said.

She show me to her be-d, I la-id Hazel on it and take a step back. Natalie brings out her medical kits and start to do some check ups.

Natalie is a nurse, she never take any of the kids to hospital. She treats them on her own.

I watch her carefully, while taping my feet worriedly.

“Natalie, plea-se do all you can. plea-se don’t let her die, I can’t bear to lose her. I… ”

” Kurt, she’s not gonna die” James said looking me in the eyes. “Natalie will take care of her” he told me.

“But she… She…. ”

” Shhhh. Calm down, she’ll be fine” he said.

I nod weakly and turn to Natalie, she’s alre-ady packing up her kits. I gr-ab her hand immediately.

“Natalie, tell me. What happened to her?” I asked.

“Calm down, Kurt. This is totally normal at this early stage” she said.

” Early stage?” I look at her in confusion.

Then it struck my mind. Is she saying Hazel have Cancer?. Oh no!.

I look at Natalie with wi-de eyes, but she’s smiling happily. I then furrow my brows.

Why is she getting happy at a time like this?.

“It’s normal for her to feel sleepy and dizziness at this early stage of her pregnancy, Kurt. It’s nothing to worry about” she said.

Pregnancy? What is she talking about?.

She noticed my confused expression, so she asked.

“You don’t know that Hazel is pregnant?”

I shake my head.

“Well, she’s pregnant. Congrats” she said.

Hazel is pregnant.

But how? We haven’t had S-x, so how is this possible? Or is she pregnant for her ex?

I nee-d her to explain this to me, or I might just explode in anger.
