Dayumm the way Alex ate those tacos while the sauce dripped everywhere is so cute!

He looked up and that cutesy face was just so unbearable to not pinch.

"Aww look at you, eating so messily," I cooed, wiping the sauce off his face. Alex glared for a second then grinned.

"Where should we go after this?" he asked in the middle of chomps.

"Maybe those little game stalls."

"Good idea," he agreed.

So after he and I finished lunch, we headed straight to the game stalls. There were tons of options that we had to play.

Mini games such as Balloon Dart, Dunk the Man, Ring Toss, Ducky Fishing, Cup Knock-down and much more were all available.

"I've got loads of tickets. Which do you wanna play first?" Alex came up behind me, carrying a filled bag of tickets.

"Are you crazy?! That must have costed a lot!" I clutched my face in horror.

"Ayy, nothing's too expensive for you," he winked.

"Alexander Oesterling!!!" I whined.

"Hmm... Balloon Dart seems easy, let's go for it," he brushed past me like I was invisible.

I sighed and ran after him.

"Three tickets, please," the buff man behind the stall yawned.

"Take 'em bud," Alex slapped three tickets into his hand.

"Good luck, mate," the man yawned again. "Been ages since someone got the jumbo prize."

"Jumbo prize?" I asked.

The man pointed to a gigantic ice-cream cone plush. "That one."

"Oh," I casually remarked.

But Alex seemed to have his eyes set on the jumbo prize. I hope he isn't gonna...

"How do we get the jumbo prize?" he asked.

I facepalmed.

"Easy. Get thirty balloons popped - almost - in a row. 'Cuz you have three free chances in case you miss. I don't know why so many people can't do it," came the reply.

"I'll go for it," Alex clenched his fists in determination and slapped another 27 tickets into the man's hand.

Is this boy out of his mind? He's wasting it.

"Great. You can start at your own time. Here are your thirty-three darts."

Alex grabbed a handful and started throwing them one by one.

Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!

I turned to look at him. Wow... that's a determination that is hard to find.

Not wanting to distract him, I grabbed some tickets from the bag and shoved them into my pocket.

"Just gonna play some other games," I whispered and ran off swiftly.

"Well done! You got the medium prize!" the lady behind the Cup Knock-down stall chirped. "Which plush would you like?"

"Uh..." I put a finger to my lip.

They had really fluffy blue penguins, pink huskies, green flamingoes, and light purple dolphins.

"I think I'll take the light purple dolphin," I pointed to it with excitement.

"Sure! If you've changed your mind, you can always come back to exchange it," the lady said while taking the dolphin down.

"No worries, I won't," I winked.

She smiled and handed me the dolphin. "Thank you for playing!"

I took the dolphin gingerly and thanked her.

Just as I had spun around, a familiar black clothed guy ran up to me.

"Hey, how's it with the ice-cream?" I smirked.

"C-c-come," he panted. "I-I've got i-it!"

"You what?!" I stared at him incredulously.

Alex dragged me back to the stall where the buff man handed him the prize.

When he took it from the man, Alex stood directly in front of me, cleared his throat and held out the ice-cream. "Dalanie. If you accept this ice-cream, it'll mean that you accept to be my girlfriend."

Wows. Straight to the point.

Yet, I started to hesitate. Seeing my dilemma, the man reached through the stall and nudged my arm gently. "This lad is a real keeper. Don't think I've ever seen a guy this passionate! Heh heh! Of course, the final decision is up to you. Just tryna help you out here!"

Should I? Alex is really a great guy. And I like him too. But I don't know if I'm ready. I don't want to jump into anything just yet. However, he might be all I need. Perhaps I could give it a try. After all, it's time I get over someone.

"Y-yes, Alex," I said and took the ice-cream from his hands.

"Mmhmm. I knew you wouldn't acc- Wait what?!" he gaped in pure shock.

"I'll... be your girlfriend."

"WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" he yelled, throwing his arms up in the air, then scooping me up and spun around till he got dizzy and put me back down.

He couldn't stand straight after all that hype. What a dear!

"The Dalanie is now officially my girlfriend!" he shouted, earning the curious looks of some random tourists.

"I love you, Alex," I surprised him again.

"You love me..." he repeated dreamily. "And I love you too."

He stared at my lips for a brief moment before closing his eyes and leaning in for a long and true kiss.

The deeply-penetrating warm touch of his hands on my back was enough to lull me to sleep.

But ay, we were kissing. And no one sleeps halfway through a kiss.

I could feel his heart beating hard and fast - he must've been so nervous! His scent of lemon and soap lingered around us. The more I took in of this guy, the more I felt that he was my true missing puzzle piece.

Finally, we pulled away to catch our breaths and he lifted a hand to make a vow, "I, Alexander Oesterling, being your new official boyfriend, will never ever let you shed a tear because of me. If you ever cry due to something else, my shoulder is here for you. I'll love you with all my heart and I'll never let you go. You can win every argument, you can choose where we want to go or what we want to do. I'll keep you warm during winters and cool during summers. I'm here. Just give me a text or a call and I'll be by your side. With this, I promise you happiness."

Warm tears started to fill my eyes, but I furiously blinked them away.

"Alex..." I took a step toward him and threw my arms around his neck. "Alex!"

"There, there," he soothed me with his gentle voice and actions.

At this sight, the Balloon Dart man and a few other stall owners started clapping away.

Clap! clap! (A/N: Okay sorry, don't mind that part! I had to clap. xD)

I let Alex go as his face flushed red. Aww, how cute!

"Let's play a few more rides before going home, what do you think?" he asked, sliding his hand around my waist.

"Sounds good to me!" I responded by putting my head on his shoulder for a while as we walked.

ZACHARY'S POV

-------%%%-------

Francesca didn't bother me today, weirdly enough. But not that I want her to anyway.

I roamed the corridors of the school. There'd been no sign of Dal for the whole day. Neither was there any sign of... Alex... for the whole day.

My mind started to wander and float around with so many thoughts.

Where is Dalanie? Where is Alex?

Is she okay?

Might she have gotten sick?

Is Alex with her?

Could they have gone out together?

I was still thinking of them when a tough-girl voice broke my thoughts.

"You should be sorry."

I turned my head. It was Alexa.

"Oh hey, Alexa."

"Don't 'Hey, Alexa' me."

"Then what do you want me to say?"

"I don't expect you to say anything. The most you can do now is to get out of Dalanie's life for good. Go sleep with a hooker or whatever, because that'll no longer bother her. She gets over things faster than you think."

"Is that supposed to mean something?" I bit my lip nervously.

Alexa didn't reply. She just turned and walked away after giving me a cold, hard glare.

Welp, there we go with the coldness. I guess it's my fault. Or not? Yeah, it's not my fault! It's Francesca's! She shouldn't have seduced me so easily. What a sl*t!

That's right, it's Francesca's fault! Francesca's fault, Francesca's fault for making me lose my girl!

The more I thought of it, the angrier I became.

"Hey, Zachary Huxley right? I heard all about it! You slept with Francesca! You cheated on Dalanie!" a nerdy girl tapped my shoulder from behind.

"Yeah, man. That was so not cool!" her friend agreed.

Oh of course the whole school now knows about it. Francesca must have been opening her ugly mouth.

Unable to control my feelings any longer, I lashed out. "It's not my fault! It's Francesca's alright?! She seduced me to sleeping with her!"

Frightened by my sudden outburst, the two girls retreated and ran away.

"Why are you blaming others for your own stupid mistake?"

I spun around startled, finding myself getting stared straight in the eye by Damon.

"Like I said, it's not my mistake!!" I clenched my jaw.

By now, people have started crowding around the commotion.

Before I could react to anything, Damon's huge fist swung fast and delivered a huge blow to my face. "THIS IS FOR DALANIE!!!"

I staggered back. "It isn't my fault..."

"WAKE UP!! WAKE UP, ZACHARY HUXLEY!!! he shouted so loud, some people surrounding us jumped out of their skin. "WHEN! JUST WHEN WILL YOU FINALLY BE MATURE?!"

He lifted his arm and delivered another blow, this time delivering it to my gut. THIS IS FROM ALL OF US WHO ARE ON DALANIE'S SIDE!!!"

With that, he turned his back and furiously pushed his way out of the crowd.

Today was a really bad day. But it can't possibly get any worse, right?

•~•

"F*ck this!! Why is it my fault?!" I shouted, throwing myself down on the end of the playground slide. After a while, I sat up. Damon's voice thundered in my ears.

"WAKE UP!!"

"WHEN! JUST WHEN WILL YOU FINALLY BE MATURE?!"

Damon had a point. When...?

I buried my head in my hands and frowned into them.

Hang on... I was the one who thought Francesca was hot. I was also the one who gave her my number. Again, I was the one who chose to sleep with her.

But that pleasure she gave was good. Real good. It felt like heaven, right here on earth.

Alright we're going astray here. Point is, Alex did try to tell me. I didn't listen. No I didn't, but I let him have his money back. Wait, it's not about money. Dal-

"Hey, are you okay?" a melodious voice and the sweet smell of cherries wafted around me.

I looked up, not caring about my bleeding nose, bruised face, and black eye in front of this familiar stranger.

"Mmhmm, I'm great," I answered, acting like I didn't really care about anything in the world.

"No, something is up. And I know it. Clearly," the ponytail-haired girl insisted.

"Who are you anyway?? Feels like I've seen you before," I leaned back on the slide.

"I'm..."
