Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 15

Geez guys calm the fuck down, have a beer. My laptop died, so now i have no laptop to update, and that is why this chapter took so long, so for everyone being blatantly rude that it's past Christmas and I haven't finished, you might want to stop and think that this world doesn't revolve around you, and I don't care if you will stop reading cause I didn't update within 24 hours. Like said at the start, I am human and I will take my time and your annoying comments only make me prolong it. Unless you want to buy me a brand new laptop so I can type, stop talking. For the rest of you, who were amazingly patient. Thank you, you guys are a charm xx

"You look like shit,"

I looked up from the ground where I was picking up the rest of the broken shot glass and looked at Ash staring at me as she wiped a glass.

"Thanks," I replied as I disposed the glass pieces in the bin, "That's so kind of you," I said sarcastically as I dusted my hands up.

"I mean like the good shit, the effortless I don't give a fuck but I am tired but I will still look good shit, the out of bed shi-,"

"I get it," I said rolling my eyes as I leaned against the bench as I saw Ash, she didn't look like shit. She probably got sleep. She probably didn't stay up all night thinking that she was a grade A idiot for making out with a complete stranger in public, which was still illegal last time I checked the rules and regulations.

Imagine what my parents would think of me.

They raised me better than this.

"Hello, earth to Sarah,"

I narrowed my eyes looking at her weird. "My name's not Sarah?" well it wasn't last time I checked.

"I know, but you weren't responding to your own name, what's got you all," She gestured to me, no doubt lost for words.

"Nothing,"

I looked up at the still relatively empty bar, it wasn't as busy as last year. Maybe it was because this plaza didn't have as many "sales" as the other ones, why would you waste your money here, when you can go to the bigger stores where they have up to 90% off in Boxing day sales.

But it was still funny seeing that it was only men in here. Sitting with a glass of beer and their phones out, coming up and asking us if we had a charger when they ran out of battery, the same typical thing.

Why did people get so crazy on boxing day sales, in the end just buy all these things because they think it was cheap and go home and get buyers remorse.

"You know that when a girl says nothing, it actually means everything?"

I raised an eyebrow at Ash, "Did you get that off facebook?"

"Yes...but that's not the point. The point is, that is still true,"

Not always. Sometimes.

"Oh great," I groaned as I noticed a familiar figure walking towards us.

"Oh hey Gav," Ash said smiling as she placed the glasses in a neat row, she had mild OCD but we all knew it was extreme OCD.

"Hey Ash, can I talk to you?" he said turning to sit in the stool in front of me.

"I'll leave you guys to it," Ash said looking between us, meeting my gaze with a guarded expression before moving to the other side of the counter, still in hearing range and I rolled my eyes, as she picked up her already clean glasses and started to wipe them again.

"What is it? I'm at work Gavin,"

"I can see that," He said tugging at his collar, the top button down up with a red tie as he shifted on his chair, clearly in his work break.

"Well quickly, I have customers to tend to,"

He raised an eyebrow, right, what customers. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike decided to close early saying there weren't many customers and it would be a waste to be open. Speaking of Mike, where the hell was he when I needed him to tell me off about talking to customers instead of selling them some alcohol?

"Let's get back together,"

"Say what?" I looked up as I placed my change in the till, did I just hear him correctly. Gavin looked tired, as he leaned forward, his hands on his counter and I moved mine away before he could reach for them, placing them under the counter, "If I remember correctly, like I said a million times, you dumped me, not the other way Gav-in. You made your choice now let's move on,"

"Well I changed my mind, I think we were great together. Besides Maggie wants to see you again,"

Maggie being his younger sister, who I admit, I was a bit attached to, okay more than attached to. Little kids were just adorable, till they grew to the tantrum throwing stage. And Maggie at nine was still very well behaved.

"Well I also change my mind, since it's that easy to change it, to no, let's not get back together, now go back to work, you're sort of really annoying me,"

Was it illegal to hit him across with a wine bottle and then blame that my arm just...slipped?

"Look I know you're still angry at me, but anger will fade, and I know you still love me Eve,"

I could have scoffed at his face, love, there was never any love. Besides we were the most dysfunctional couple you would have ever seen. Did I have to reinforce the point, that there never was any love?

It was more convenience.

"Can I grab a scotch please?" a new voice asked as I heard tapping on the bench.

"Mate do you mind? I'm trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend as you can see,"

"Well do that elsewhere, your girlfriend is working at a bar and I want a scotch thanks, mate. Now pretty lady, you going to get me a scotch?"

I grabbed a glass from under turning to face him and my eyes did a double take?

Nik?

"No ice," He stated his eyes meeting mine and I paused as I poured him a drink as his fingers continued to tap on the counter.

"On the house," I said as I pushed the glass towards him.

"It's okay, I can afford a scotch," he said taking his glass as he stood up, slapping a note on the bar and then walking towards Ash who was still wiping the damn glass. No doubt eavesdropping like she liked.

"Gav, fuck off,"

And I could see my brother rolling in his office chair at my language skills. "Don't be so vulgar Eve," and of course I liked replying to him even more vulgar.

"Just hear me out," he said as I placed the note into the till and sighed, "Haven't I been hearing you out for the past twenty three minutes, which is pretty ridiculous cause you're wasting my time,"

"I think I can change your mind," he said placing something across the counter.

I looked over at the object under his hand as he pushed it towards me. No he didn't.

"Gavin I don't think you sh-."

"Marry me,"

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I hissed slapping his hand as he tried grabbing mine. Okay I could really use a wine bottle right now

"What I'm just-," he said as he opened the stupid green velvet box and sure enough there was a god damn ring int here. We barely knew each other, three months and this guy dumped me and then decides to want to marry me.

"No, god you're so stupid." I said irritated as I took off my apron chucking it on the counter, "I'm taking my break Ash," I said not even bothering to turn my head as I stormed into the staff room.

*

"Are you just going to sit here stocktaking or go back out there?"

I paused mid count looking over my shoulder to see Ash leaning against the door, "I think I'll stay stock counting," I said realising I forgot my count. Damn it, did she have to talk when i was nearing three hundred and something, I really didn't want to start counting all over again.

"Is he still out there?"

"Yep,"

Yep, I was staying in here. Even the bouncers couldn't kick him out, he wasn't drunk, or causing "ruckuss" and now that I was re-positioned to do something else, it wasn't legal to kick them out, and illegal to let him drink his "mocktail,"

I hope he choked on his drink.

"Mike said we're closing in ten,"

Thank the lord, he had finally heard me. Three hours late, but better than another four hours in here. The lack of lighting and air was really getting on my nerves and making me dizzy, and I haven't had a meal all day.

I was starting to feel faint. I wanted food. A massive steak burger with fries and a milkshake. Oh yeah, mama is coming for you. And on cue my stomach growled.

"Can you get me the keys for the back entry, I am so not leaving through the front,"

The back entry was only used on Wednesdays, to take out the rubbish. And I would rather smell like rubbish than have the chance of bumping into Gavin.

"Mike already opened it for you, we have a hunch,"

"Oh thanks,"

I got up stretching my hands, there was no way I was going to keep count if Ash kept talking like that. I grabbed the notepad and pen and started walking back to the staff room.

"That was quite a big rock,"

I dropped my things starting to pack up the table, "I know," that was hte point. The rock was a bit too big. Gav didn't know me at all. I wasn't one of those girls who would just be tempted for a big rock on their finger, for the whole "engaged," title.

Ash remained silent which I was grateful for as we packed up the rest. Looking around the clean, well as clean as this dump could be, I grabbed my jacket throwing it back on.

"Alright I'm going," I slipped out of my heels into more comfortable shoes I remembered to pack this time, take away and home and sleep and lots of ice cream and horror movies. I was already drooling at the smell of a nice fat burger.

I need to exercise. Maybe tomorrow.

The back exit always gave me the shivers, it was down a series of four to five floors, the elevator was outside, and outside meant maybe Gav. So this was the safest, it was dingy and creepy, but thankfully it was not smelly.

It was just dark and quiet and I paused every now and then just to make sure there was no one following me, I had seen enough horror movies to know this would be a perfect setting for them.

I had never been more happier to see the olive green door at the bottom with a yellow light bulb blinking as I neared it. Giving it a good tug it revealed the smaller narrow street that was filled with dumpsters, one for every food/bar place. One side was a fence, a dead end and the other led onto the side streets of the city.

I looked down zipping up my coat as I tried not to step on any of the strey rubbish as I hurried down the street.

Man I hope they installed security cameras or something, it was the perfect place for a crime. I absolutley hated taking down the rubbish, it just sent me shivers.

So when I felt an arm grab me the squeal in my throat started, I had a big scream, people could hear me, but it was cut off when I smelt the masculine scent I was starting to get way used to.

"Jesus, you fucking freaked me out!" I snapped angrily as my heart skiped a beat and I pulled my arm back rubbing it.

Nik gave a small chuckle, I had completely missed him leaning against the wall with his phone, the light should have given him away, obviously if I was looking.

"Sorry," he said falling in step with me as I started walking trying to get the adrenaline to calm down, "Ash told me you were probably going to come this way,"

"Of course she did," that busybody, "What are you doing here anyways," not that I didn't mind him being here, but it was still fairly early. Well being six, but it was already fairly dark which was rare for a summer day.

"I told you I'll come pick you up," he said. How the hell did he have all that energy as he smiled walking faster tugging my arm like a toddler.

I silently groaned, and he gave me a knowing look, "You can sleep in the car," Of course.

I sighed, "Fine, do I get to know where we are going?"

"Call me cliche, but that'll ruin the surprise," he said turning around the corner. Well there was one thing I was looking forward to, that car of his and those seats and oh, can we get drive through?

I was starving.

He opened the door for me and I shook my head rolling my eyes as I got in, and dropped my bag on the floor of the car leaning into the comfortable chair only realising something was digging into me. I grabbed the bag curiously and opened it to see a packet of chocolate chip cookies.

"I thought you'd be hungry,"

"Urgh you're perfect," I said feeling way too excited as I grabbed the packet. Oh my lord were those jelly beans at the bottom?

FOOD!

Unhealthy food, which just made my day so much better as I sighed smelling all the delicious chocolate flavor fill the car.

"What?" I asked mouthful as Nik watched me, and there was nothing more uncomfortable than someone watching you eat none the less.

"Nothing, nothing,"
