Savvy’s P.O.V

“You bastard! You killed him!” I shouted at Allen. He frowned at me. I looked away from him and at Inx. My sobs didn’t relinquish, instead anger boiled inside of me. I started to pound Inx’s chest. “You’re not dead! No! I lied! Please, open your eyes! Inx, I love you too! Please! P-P ...,” I stopped hitting him and placed my head on his chest. “Plea-ease, Inx, wak-k-ke up. I am begg-g-ging you. I love you!”

“Get off him, Savvy, he is dead. Plus, lying and saying you love him won’t bring him back,” Allen hissed at me. Without blinking I took my head off of Inx’s chest and glanced up at Allen. He was looking at me with pity. I stood up and Allen gave me a warm smile.

“I wasn’t lying. I love you Allen, just not with all my heart. I love Inx, and have since I was little.” Anger flashed through Allen’s eyes. He started to grip the gun, that was at his side and fear flooded through me. “Allen, hand me the pistol,” I stated in a low, soothing voice. I was trying to coax him as I stretched my arm. “Hand me the gun, please.”

“Why?” He asked with clenched teeth. I flinched back in fright, “everything I did was for you! Growing up it was always Inx, Inx, Inx. Finally Inx left, you and I started to hit it off. Of course we had that problem with my mom. But Savvy! When he came back I expected you to push him away! I was looking forward to coming home and Inx would be gone, because you loved me! Me!! Never did I anticipate you to go live with him!” I was silently thinking that I did a little more than live with him, but I wasn’t going to tell Allen, especially with the gun in his hand. “You know what, I am not sorry I shot the fuck head. I’m glad Inx is dead. Hell, I’d do it again.” Allen raised the gun and pointed it at Inx’s body. With a sudden fire he shot Inx, I went wide eyed.

“Stop! He is already dead! You have already done it! You sick bastard!” I shouted as another gunshot echoed in the hall. Allen looked at me with dark eyes. I knew he was going to shot Inx’s dead cold body again … I did the first thing that came to mind. I jumped in front of the gun … right when he pulled the trigger.

At first I felt nothing and thought Allen must have shot the floor. But the panic filled eyes of Allen looked at my stomach. I looked down and saw a deep red color. Soon searing pain erupted in my abdomen. Moving my fingers I touched the spot that was bleeding. Blood covered my hand and my knees gave out in shock. I’d been shot …

“Savvy, baby, stay with me! Shit! I’m sorry! Damn it! Why did you step in front of the gun?! Savvy! Keep your eyes open!” He yelled at me as my eyes began to feel heavy. I could hear every word he said, but it was like I wasn’t there.

“Hands up in the air! Now! Put your hand in the air!” I heard someone holler. Allen, who had his hands on my back, slowly let me down on the floor. People started to crowd around us. I heard someone telling me to stay awake and everything is going to be okay. I was floating in and out of consciousness before finally giving myself over to darkness.
