I Got You: Tom's P.O.V ... I'm A Kick A** Boyfriend

Tom’s P.O.V

“Tom!” A female voice said, from what sounded like the living room. I quickly open my eyelids, and had shut them as bright lights shined in them. I silently cursed, before squinting my eyes. Feeling weight on my chest I glanced down to see Hope fast asleep with her head propped on my chest. “Tom!” The voice rang through the house again. Moving myself from under Hope, I figured that after we talked, both of us must have fallen asleep. Her sleeping figure stayed quiet and still as I got off the bed.

I walked out of my bedroom and over into the living room.

My mom was sitting in the couch focused solely on her phone when I entered. Clearing my throat, she looked at me standing in the doorway. “I have only been calling you half a dozen times. Where have you been? Last night, you didn’t come home, and this morning before I left for work, I find your door locked. I thought we had a rule, no locked doors in this house.” She stated with a disappointed look etched on her face. I sighed and nodded.

“Won’t happen again,” I said. She lifted her hands in the air and clipped up her blond hair.

“Good, now go make yourself useful and do something around the house,” she said with a plastered smile. Exhaling loudly, I decided to go clean the kitchen up so she wouldn’t be mad I did nothing today. When I was cleaning I kept wondering if Hope was going to wake up and come out of my room. It would probably send my mom up a wall that I had a girl here, and we were previously alone before she got home. I silently prayed that Hope would stay asleep.

My prayers were answered because when I got done, I went straight to my room to find Hope lightly snoring away. It was then that I figured I should get a shower.

Going over to my drawers, I pulled out a black shirt and some khaki shorts. My legs carried me to the bathroom that was connected to my room.

The hot shower eased my tight muscles and I began to relax. When I was done, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my torso, only to realize I forgot to snatch some boxers with my shirt and pants.

I opened the bathroom door, walked straight over to my drawers, with my towel hanging loosely around my waist and water dripping from my wet hair. When my hands grabbed a pair of blue boxers from a drawer, I froze.

A sense that someone was looking at me made me glance over my shoulders.

Hope was sitting up in my bed, basically eye raping me.

Smirking, I turned around, which only made her drool more. “Close your mouth, you might catch a fly,” I teased. She abruptly blinked several times and looked around the room in an innocent manner. “You do know that it’s okay to check out your boyfriend,” I told her. She blushed at least ten shades of red, which made me beam at her. “How about I get dressed, then you and I can go out on a date?” I suggested. Her green eyes lit up with excitement. I just chuckled at her and then went in my bathroom to get ready for our date.

I’d managed to lie to my mother, saying I was going over to Troy’s house for a guy’s night. She told me I better be home before eleven. With the roll of my eyes I waited for her to go in the kitchen. Once she did I sneaked Hope out of the house. We were pumping with adrenaline as both of us got in my car. Hope was in a fit of laughter by the time I was starting the car and driving down the street.

“What is so funny?” I asked her. She gradually stopped giggling and her eyes flickered over to me.

“I’ve never had such a rush, with trying to sneak around without getting caught,” my lips curved up.

“Well, Miss Goody-Goody I think my bad boy ways are rubbing off. You might want to run while you can,” I joked. She shook her head.

“No, I loved it! We should go do something exciting and daring,” enthusiasm was seeping in her voice. “Maybe bungee jumping or sky diving. Wait! No, we should-” I thought this was the perfect time to cut her off before her imagination got the better of her.

“Whoa, slow down there, Honey,” I spoke. She closed her lips and sighed through her nose. “I have something already planned for our date.” She gave me a disappointed expression that melted my heart. “Would you smile if I admitted to you that it has a little ‘rush’ to it?” Hope looked at me and waited for me to spill about what we were doing for our date. “I’m not telling you what we are doing, stop giving me that look,” I exclaimed. She huffed and I just chortled.

It wasn’t long before my old, beat up green Jeep pulled into Putt Putt, which is a mini golf and arcade place. “Please tell me we’re not mini golfing?!” She exclaimed with a frown. I raised an eyebrow at her wondering why her lips were turned down. “I just wanted to do something active,” she admitted. A wicked grin found my face and I knew exactly what we were going to do.

As we walked in the arcade part of Putt Putt she kept looking around at all the bright and enticing games. I had to keep pull her over to me when she saw a game she wanted to play. We keep walking towards the back of the building. When we reached the back her eyes widened. “Glow in the dark laser tag?!” She shrieked in happiness. With a nod I went over to the woman luring people in to play.

“Two for glow in dark laser tag,” I stated.

~~~
“Just confess Hope, I won!” I said with a grin. As of right now we were sitting on the patio of a local ice cream place. Hope was denying that I won the laser tag game. The sheets with our scores showed that I had triumphed over everyone because I had the most tags. Hope was sadly second to last on the score board. Yet, Hope keeps murmuring about how they must have messed up the score, because she states that she was shooting people left to right.
“I’m not saying you won, they do the scores electronically. Which means they can mess up and have a glitch,” she muttered then took a bite of her chocolate ice cream cone.
“Glitch? Can’t you just acknowledge that you have an awesome boyfriend that kicks ass?” She shook her head at my words and I laughed.
We were heading to my car when I heard a clicking noise from behind us. Looking over my broad shoulders I saw a ski masked man pointed a gun right at Hope and I’s backs. Stopping in my tracks and I moved so that I was shielding Hope from the masked gun man. I could feel her turn around and she gasped. I stretched my arms out horizontally, blocking the man from Hope.
I had to protect her, even if it killed. “Move, boy,” the man demanded me.
“No,” I boldly said. “Don’t leave from behind me,” I hissed at Hope who was clinging to my back. I could feel her shake with fear. It made me mad that this guy dared attempt to harm my girlfriend and me.
“You are an idiot, I will shoot you if you do not move away from Hope,” the mystery man told me.
“Why should I?”
“Because I am here on a job, I need her to come with me. If you don’t cooperate, I will shot you.”
“You are going to shot me in a parking lot where at any moment someone could look over and see you? Hell, who is to say someone hasn’t seen you already and the cops are on the way. I think you should go back to school, because you lack in a brain,” I boldly stated. Even with the black mask over his face I could see his eyes. Gradually they narrowed at me.
“Tom, don’t encourage him,” Hope whispered to me. I ignored her and kept all my attention on the man before us.
“Hope, come over to me now, or I shot your boyfriend. You have till the count of three. One … Two …,” I didn’t let him get to three, with a swift movement I charged him.
By surprising him the gun slipped from his hands and hit the concrete ground. My mind kept telling me to kill him for he threatend to kill me and kidnap my Hope. But instead I straddled the man who was lying on the concrete face up. With my fist in the air I let it come down and connect with his face. I didn’t hit him just once or twice; I kept doing it until Hope stopped me. “Tom! Stop! You will kill him!” Her voice made me realize that the man was wheezing and his eyes had a distant look in them. I think he got the message that messing with me was a bad idea. Standing up I glanced over at Hope.
“Are you okay?” I asked her. She bobbed her head and then quickly gazed down at the man. I did too and saw he was slowly reaching over for the gun.
“Idiot,” I muttered and grabbed it before he could. His eyes looked up at me.
“Kill me! Do it! It’s not like you can save her friends,” I raised an eyebrow at the masked man’s words.
“What do you mean?” I quizzed. Even with the black cloth over his face I could tell he was smiling. It ticked me off and I was holding everything in not punch him till he was lying there cold and dead.
I watched him struggle to stand up. He was able to in a matter of a few moments. “I can’t say,” was all he said in reply.
“I can make you talk, might as well do it pain free and voluntary,” I bitterly spat. He let a chuckle escape his lips.
“Tom, I don’t think Hope likes all this violence,” hearing him say her name made me boil over in anger.
“Don’t you dare say her name again,” I demanded. “Now, you tell me what you meant by: It doesn’t matter what I do because it won’t save her friends.”
“You will find out soon enough,” with that I heard a car alarm sound off. I looked over and saw a red mustang flashing its lights across the parking lot. Some guy came running out of the store and went over to the car. Soon the lights and car alarm went off. I turned my attention back to the ski masked man, only to find he was gone.
“Where did he go?” I asked Hope.
“I was looking at the direction of the car alarm … I-I don’t know,” she murmured. I watched as her green eyes casted down on the ground. Soon tears came running down her face. My body moved over to her, I wrapped my arms around her waist and enveloped her in a tight hug.
“It’s okay, you have an awesome boyfriend that kicks ass that will get to the bottom of this and most importantly will protect you,” through her cries she giggled and looked up at me.
“I love you,” she whispered as a single tear slowly fell down her rosy cheek.
“I love you too,” with that I kissed her salty lips. She soon kissed back and I moved the palm of my hands to her face and cupped her cheeks, pulling her in more. The sound of police sirens made me draw back. “We need to get out of here,” she nodded and I lead her to my car knowing that something was going on and that we were going to find out.
