Connor got out of his car as both Serena and he arrived back at their houses, a guttural lump knotted in his throat that had formed there since the coffee shop. The relief he felt coated him like tar. He was so lucky he had been here, that look in Liam's eyes and the hold he had on Serena was familiar. He saw the same thing on the ice that night they fought.

He sighed and walked up to her, they met in the middle of their houses. He was gazing down at the woman standing at the edge of his property , the woman that since the first night he saw her couldn't get out of his head.

"He gives me a really bad feeling." Connor shook his head as that instinctive tug in his chest nagged at him. He stepped closer to her, pulling the tension between them tighter.

Serena glances at the ground in thought, then back to him. She drew her eyes to his finally as she spoke, "How often are your hunches about people true?"

Connor stared at her with an uneasy face, the answer was clear on his features but he didn't have the heart to voice it. They're never wrong. Instead, he stepped forward to snake his hand to the small of her back. He pulled her lightly into his chest and cupped her cheek in his hand. Connor placed a small kiss on her lips. He let his lips linger there against hers, "I won't let anyone hurt you." He mumbled and let his hand tickle around her wrist.

Her blue eyes were heavy with something warm, but she pulled her lip into her mouth uneasily, "Stop saying stuff like that, you're....confusing me." Her face got red, the crimson in her cheeks brighter than the night's darkness. She turned her face to the side, breaking contact with their lips.

She was flustered. Embarrassed. It made a huge smile spread across his lips, she was so unbearably cute sometimes.

"Aw, don't do that." He whined and held back a chuckle. His hand on her face shifted to pull her gaze back to his. Their faces were so close that their nose brushed at the movements and their bodies shifted on the other desperately. "Look at me."

She did, obedient to his words, she looked. Her gaze was glassy and her face was nearly blushed all pink with embarrassment. Her lip was pulled into her teeth for a moment before her mouth opened for a deep breath, "Connor."

His name was a husky plea in her breath.

He nearly risked it all on the lawn right there where they stood. His body was shaking for her, reminding him exactly what he wanted. "You're all flustered." His words lacked any playfulness now, his voice was husky and low. "Fuck-" I really like seeing what I do to you. His fingers brushed her warm cheeks and ran over her lips.

They were both reducing each other to puddles. Serena was pressing herself harder into him now, and he was touching anywhere his hands wanted to.

The sound of Connor's phone beeping jolted them both back to reality. Taking a step back and a fresh breath of the night air, Connor looked down at his phone screen. A text from his mom was bright on the screen. Honey and I are confirmed for our flight, see you tomorrow!
