The Wedding DJ, Episode Five

"Where are you? I have been waiting for my wedding dress. My makeup is done and we are ready to go to church. What is keeping you so long? How long will it take you to drive to this place? Please hurry up because everyone is waiting for me. The officiating priest has already called my husband and we have to get to the church within the next 30 minutes." Sharon said. She was on the phone with Ella who has failed to deliver the wedding dress as expected. She was sweating profusely and her body was shaking due to the pressure she was facing.

"I will soon be there. Please, I need one hour to drive to the hotel because there is a huge traffic hold-up on the road. Everywhere is blocked and I'm unable to drive as fast as expected. Please, be a little more patient because I will soon arrive with your beautifully made dress." Ella said over the phone. She was talking to Sharon compassionately but inwardly, she was laughing at her. She was enjoying the pressure and pain Sharon was going through.

"But please you have to hurry up. Don't ruin my big day. Please, trying and drive as fast as you can so that I and my husband will be on our way to the church for our wedding. Today is my day and I cannot afford for anyone to ruin it for me. Please Ella, help me and deliver the wedding dress as fast as you can." Sharon pleaded over the phone. The pressure she was feeling had increased more than 100 per cent. Her body was covered with sweat and her makeup was ruined. The makeup artist had to start all over again. Soon, Sharon started weeping. Her tears once again ruined her makeup and the artist had to retouch it for the third time. It was a difficult moment for Sharon.

Forty minutes after she finished talking to Ella on the phone, she walked into the hotel room with a bag in her hand.

"Here is your wedding dress. I'm so sorry Sharon. The late delivery wasn't entirely my fault. Please, forgive me." Ella pleaded. By that time, Sharon had already snatched the bag from Ella and opened unzipped it. She wondered why a wedding dress was stuffed in a bag but she opened it anyways.

"What is this?" Sharon asked after unzipping the bag.

"That's your wedding gown of course." Ella said with a sarcastic smile on her face.

"You mean this rag is my wedding gown? Are you out of your mind? Is this what I paid you N200k for?" Sharon was now shouting and her anger had boiled over.

"Sharon my dear, you actually thought was going to make your wedding dress? You must be out of your mind. So, after breaking my brother's heart with impunity, you expected me to treat you like a queen? You expected me to roll out the red carpets and give you a royal treatment after treating my brother like trash? My brother sacrificed my education to pay for your university and to finance your expensive lifestyle. Then you wanted me to greet you with kisses and roses? No my dear, this is what you get when you don't treat people rightly and I warn you because this is just the beginning."

Ella said with pain and anger in her voice. She was already stepping back and getting out of the hotel room because it was looking like Sharon wanted to engage her in a fight. Soon, she was out of the hotel.

Ella drove straight to the wedding reception venue which was printed on the invitation card George had received from Sharon. Incidentally, she met George at the gate of the wedding venue. The place was locked and it does not look like an event would be taking place there in a few hours.

The security man at the venue said he was not aware that a wedding reception would be taking place and the hall within the arena wasn't open.

"And I'm supposed to know because I'm charge of the hall." The security man said.

"Never mind. Let me call the lady who is wedding today." Goerge said to the security man who promptly left the scene. He picked up his phone and dialed Sharon's number.

"Wait for me at the reception venue. I will be there soon." Sharon said. Her voice had become stable.

"How did it go with Sharon?" George asked Ella who was standing hands akimbo and observing the area. She saw that there was no decoration or chairs to show that a wedding reception was going to happen at the venue. Inwardly, she wondered what was going on.

"My dear, it was very nice to see how she was in pain. I enjoyed it so much." Ella said. She brought out her phone and showed George the video of what happened when she went to see Sharon at the hotel. George greatly enjoyed it.

"Oga DJ, the bride said you can enter the hall and set up your equipment. She just called me some seconds ago. She said she cannot make it to this place again as she was already on her way to church for her wedding." It was the security man. He interrupted Ella and George. The DJ did as exactly as the security man said. He set up his equipment and started playing the video he had on a large TV screen he strategically mounted in the middle of the hall.

"Everyone will see this video today. This is your punishment for treating me like trash. I can't wait to see your tears, Sharon." George said.

Meanwhile, Sharon had managed to get a new wedding dress. It didn't fit very well but she wore it the way it was. She left the hotel room and jumped into her car and started driving to the wedding venue. Within 30 minutes, she arrived at the venue and stepped into the hall.

When George and Ella saw her, they were surprised that she was all alone. No friends, no brides maid, no maid of honour and no bridal train. Just Sharon standing face to face with them.
