Liam

"I'm going to miss you bro." My sister Kayla hugged me as we stood waiting at the airport for my plane.

"I know, me too." I said.

"Well it was nice having you over even though most of the time you were in pain." She joked bumping our shoulders together. I blushed,

"Yeah, I'm sorry about again."

"No, it cool, you have a mate and I respect your decision to keep that part of the relationship strictly romantic." She said wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. I rolled my eyes. I had told her about Aiden, only because she pestered me none stop. And she went ballistic, jumping off her apartment walls with excitement till her neighbors ordered her to knock it off. But still she did a silent happy dance, saying she always wanted a gay brother.

I would have stayed with her longer but I had to get back to Aiden, it was killing me slowly the longer I stayed away. My wolf was becoming restless, wanting the touch our mate, to bask in his warmth, to inhale his sweet smell, and not to mention devour his soft warm mouth.

"Okay, your planes here." she said a bit reluctantly. Smiling I gave her a nice big hug,

"I'll come back to see you soon and I'll bring Aiden with me." I said, her face brightened.

"Yay!" She started jumping up and down again clapping her hands.

"Alright, I got to go." I kissed her cheek and picked up my bag.

"Bye Liam." I turned and entered the terminal.

The whole time on the plane I couldn't stop the stupid grin that was plastered on my face. I was going back home and I would be able to see him again. I missed Aiden so much, I just wanted to hear his voice. For the last two weeks I couldn't stop thinking about what happened after the full moon came, how the fire started to build in my veins and my world became hazy. The pain was so much that my sister had to help me into an ice bath. The heat was worse this time around but once the week was up it went away thankfully. Kayla begged me to stay another week when I began packing so I could go back to Aiden, but since I hadn't seen my sister in so long so I gave in and stayed. Now I just wanted to envelop my mate in an hour long hug and make out session.

"Excuse me sir, but would you like anything?" I looked up to see one of the flight attendants.

"Glass of water please." She nodded and walked off. I rested my head on the back of my seat and closed my eyes. A couple of hours and I'll be happily in my mates arms.

"How was your sister?" My mom asked. My parents had come to pick me from the airport.

"She's good, she has a concert coming up soon and asked me to tell you guys to come." I told them looking out the window. How long does it take to go home? My leg was jumping impatiently the whole ride.

"Oh goodie, we're all going to have to go and see it. I'll call her when we get home." Mom replied excitedly. I sighed biting the inside of my cheek.

"So Liam, your father told me what happened the other day. You found your mate!" She was turned around in her seat beaming at me.

"He did, did he?" I said turning my head towards my dad as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Tell us about her!" My mom pushed.

I really wanted to, I was going to tell the truth right then but suddenly I realized the conversation I had with Aiden before I left. He didn't want me to say anything; he practically had a panic attack when I brought up meeting my parents. And I knew that they would do everything to find him. But they would be looking for a girl but it wouldn't be hard to figure out when they did finally see Aiden again. We were mated they would know right away.

"I think it's best to wait for anything more on my mate right now." I told them. My mom pouted,

"But why, I want to meet her." She whined. I shook my head,

"Not now." She shrugged.

"Well I guess it's time to start planning the Alpha ceremony." she gushed. I rolled my eyes.

We'll see how long that will last.

Once we pulled up to the pack house I was out the door before the car stopped, and up the steps to my bedroom. I threw my bags in the corner of my room and took a quick shower Aiden on my mind the entire time. Should I call him first or just show up? I was done and dressed in a matter of minutes and down the stairs. I'll just show up and surprise him.

"Where's Liam!?" Dom's frantic voice reached my ears as I was just about to run out the door. Stopping I turned around and walked to were his voice was coming from.

"Dom, calm down." My dad said his voice calm and smooth.

"Alpha I really need to speak to him!" I reached the siting room where my dad and Dom were standing. Dad had a concerned and confused expression on his face.

"Please" he begged.

"What?" I asked him worried.

Dom has never acted like this before so I was beginning to worry. Dom spun around at the sound of my voice and I knew something wasn't right, his face was etched in sorrow and fear. I watched his throat work.

"What Dom, what wrong?" My words came out slow as panic set in. Please don't say what I think it is. Please, please, please. It was becoming hard to breath all of a sudden.

"Liam-" he paused his lips tight and his eyes filled with grief.

"Spit it out Dominic!" Fright taking hold of my body.

"Liam...it's- it's Aiden." He whispered, and my heart stopped.

No.

"W-what's wrong with h-him?" I stuttered dreading to hear what he had to say.

"Aiden? What's going on?" My dad interrupted but I paid no attention.

"What happened!?" I yelled causing both Dom and my dad to flinch. He dropped his head,

"He's in the hospital."

My heart dropped along with my world as everything began to spin. I turned on my heel blocking out my dad and Dom's concerned voices call me back. I heard their footsteps rushing behind me but I didn't stop. I ran out the front door and climbed in my father's car; thankfully the keys were still in the ignition. I started it just as my dad opened the passenger door and Dom in the back seat.

'This can't be happening, this isn't happening!' I said over and over in my head. He was in the hospital and no one called me to tell me this? How badly was he hurt? I felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest at every excruciating beat, the whole drive to the hospital.

"Dom, what's going on?" My dad asked him as he looked over at me the whole time. I never heard Dom's answer because before I knew it we pulled into the hospital parking lot. Parking at an odd angle I jumped out of the car rushing to the front doors of the emergency room and ran to the front desk.

"Can I help you?" The lady asked me barley glancing at me from the computer.

"I want to see Aiden." I demanded unable to keep my anger and fear from my voice. What if she told me that he was dying or worst dead? My heart was beating erratically as my dad came up to my side.

"Last name?" She said with a bored tone. I growled ready to jump this desk and rip her throat out. My dad's arm came across my chest as he restrained me.

"Carlisle" he his voice deep and calm. I was about ready to start pacing at how slow she was taking.

"Liam calm down." Dad told me keeping a close eye on me. Dom placed a hand on my shoulder but none of what they were doing was helping I just wanted my mate!

"Alright, uh... Aiden Carlisle is in room 213 in the ICU." Her mundane voice grating on my nerves. With a growl I tore down the hospital searching franticly for the numbers. Dom and dad behind me but never saying a word. I found the number and the scent of Aiden's blood was heavy in the air as it seeped through the door, I whimpered as the smell hit me. Shaking, I opened the door and was met with a sight that almost brought me down to my knees.

"Aiden?" Barley a whisper I rushed to his side ignoring Aiden's dad who sat in the chair in the corner of the room.

"Aiden?" I called to him again. He had a white bandage wrapped around his head and a tube was in his mouth; his eyes were closed. He was so pale it worried me.

"Aiden wake up, I'm here." I ordered softly to him touching his face, he so was cold. I wanted to see his blue eyes, I wanted him to tell me he was going to be okay. That it was nothing and he would be going home with me right now.

"Aiden?" I called again a little louder. Nothing. "Aiden"

"That's not going to work son, nothing works." I heard Mr. Carlisle tear filled voice. I snapped my head up to see him sitting there with tears streaming down his eyes.

"What are you talking about?" I asked him. He shook his head, his chin quivering as more tears rolled down his face.

"What happened to him?" I demanded. His brown eyes never left the motionless body of my mate

"He fell..." he paused shutting his eyes closed before continuing. "He fell down the stairs and hit his head." He told me putting his face in his hands. The air caught in my lungs, he fell?

"He's in a coma, Liam." This time it was Dom who spoke this time. Everything froze, I felt like my lungs were going to burst and my heart was going to explode from how fast it was going.

A coma?

"No," I quietly denied, shaking my head. I turned my head back to Aiden's pale face. "No, no, no, Aiden." I whined franticly to him taking his cold face in my hands.

"Aiden please, wake up." I ordered him I could feel my eyes burning as I looked down at him.

"Nothing works." I heard Aiden's dad whisper as he got out of his chair and left the room.

"Aiden please!" I was gasping.

"Liam." My dad tried to get my attention but nothing was going to stop me from waking my mate up.

"Aiden," I cried the tears falling fast, "Baby, no." I placed my head on his chest, trying to listen to the beat of his heart.

"I'm so sorry," I sobbed against him. "I should have been here for you.

"Liam, this isn't your fault." Dom tried to comfort me. I never lifted my head from Aiden's chest.

"Yes it is, I should have never left him alone." I told him.

"You couldn't have known that this was going to happen, it was an accident." The rage built in me and I spun towards him.

"He's my mate Dom, I live to protect him and I failed!" I screamed at him.

My dad's eyes widened but I didn't care. I turned back to Aiden and sank to my knees staring at his beautiful face.

"Come on Aiden. Don't leave me, just... just wake up for me." I whispered to him.

Nothing.

I didn't care if I was crying like a baby in front of my best friend and Alpha, I just wanted my mate to come back to me.

"Just wake up"

Alpha Robert (Liam's Dad)

I stood there in the middle of a hospital room, watching as my son cried for this boy stuck in a coma. This same boy that I had met at my house a while ago. I didn't know what to make of it.

"Mate?" My son had said.

Was that even possible? Could werewolves mate with the same sex?

My mind was racing but not with the thoughts of how unusual this mating was, or if this was wrong. Instead it was filled with worry for my son, worry for Aiden. I could smell the mark on the boy's skin and it scared me. This was a new bond, an incomplete bond but a bond none the less and the thought of Liam losing his mate so early crushed me. I've seen wolves lose their mate before and it wasn't pretty, most of them couldn't cope with the loss.

I couldn't lose my son, the heir to my position. I looked over at the pale boy and my stomach dropped. He was going to be my son in law and this was how I find out? Seeing him unable to wake in a hospital bed. If he died, the future of my pack would crumble; moving my gaze from the boy to my son who was sobbing uncontrollably. It tore at my heart to see him suffering like this, begging for his mate to wake.

I walked over to him, kneeling beside him, grabbing him by the shoulders and brought him into my chest. He fought hard but I tightened my arms around him till he sagged against me, burying his face in my shoulder. His hands gripping the back of my shirt as he cried.

"I am so sorry Liam." I whispered as I stroked the back of his hair.

"I don't want to lose him dad." He sobbed in my shoulder. "I can't- I can't live without him." I shut my eyes tight at how his trembling voice held all the suffering and pain he was going through.

"I know, I know." My words strained. "Everything is going to be fine Liam, you'll see."

The Wolf Spirits put the two together for a reason, there was no way that Liam was going to lose his mate before he even got to experience what it was. It wasn't going to happen. Aiden was going to live and he and my son were going to lead the pack one day.
