Dear Ena,

Don't mind the tear stain on the paper and don't assume that i am in a sad state as i write this. It was a tear of joy, as i wrote your name, i laughed so hard, hence the stain. Not that your name is funny, no. It is actually 'cool', 'slay' , 'has rizz' whatever you kids say nowadays. In my head i always assumed you were called Tina, I can guess maybe it is how you pronounced it or you said it to my faulty ear. I had this classmate called Tina, she was a troublemaker and i was an easy target for her. One day she decided to disturb bees in their peaceful hives, Ena let me tell you, I can't think of Tina without laughing because of how the bees worked on her face. I shouldn't be laughing as it could have been fatal. However, Tina put all her victims in very dangerous situations without a care. Since them she stopped bullying people.

I could write a lot here which will be a repeat of everything i ever told you. Yet when i think of how much thankful i am we met, i can hardly find enough words to fit here. Your easy nature and out of this world patience brought me immeasurable joy and comfort each day you provided your company. I think you added more days of my life in this world than the chemo. I fought each day to say last words to you.

I can't be coherently, my mind is wondering and I don't think even the flow of this letter will make sense. Alright, the tear stain here, it is because of the sadness that clouds my head. I haven't seen you in days, your cousin says that you got a job, unexpectedly elsewhere. I don't know if i will see you again as i am aware of the fleeting nature of my life. The fragility of life has become an unwelcome companion. In my weak state i have however accepted what is to come.

As you read this i hope life has treated you with equal kindness your soul bears. I hope the love you waited so long comes, and if not i hope you find it and embrace it with open heart, love fiercely, my dearest, like i did with my sweet Erick.

Oh, Erick! He will be crushed and can only hope he too finds love again and have the children i couldn't give him. Your cousin, Joy, she is a spitfire, a fox . What Erick needs. Don't be quick to judge me for even allowing such a thought. I will find a way that will bring them together. This is the only secret i want you keep for me, i don't want Erick to ever know i had a hand in it. All he wants is for me to be happy till my last breath and not to worry about anything. He will be heartbroken to know in my last days i was worried more about his joy than mine. He will feel like he failed to love me the way i deserved.

So, my dear as i come closer to my finishing line, i want to tell you that hold your head high and just live life, be involved in it and do whatever the hell you want. It goes by too fast.

In this box i have something for you. I want to be part of your dream as you were to mine. There is a key to a storage unit. In it you will find things you need and others you don't need. Next to there is a scarf that belong to my grandmother. It brought us luck everywhere we took it and i want you to have it too.

The doctor is here, i have to go.

I fold the letter and look outside as we arrive at our destination. I have read and reread it over and over. I sigh with new found strength. She has so much faith in while all I did is just sit with her have small meaningless small talks. I wish she knew she was the one that gave me reasons to see the good in living. I was done with high school and lost wondering what next? And everyday just felt flat and couldn't understand why I was still here.

I take my bags and inhale with a small smile.

Outside I find Fiona waiting. She is quick to see me and smiles waving.

She unexpectedly hugs me. "Look at how malnourished you are." She takes a step back to study me.

"I am perfectly okay," I take no offense in her words.

She shakes her head, "No, Some sweet thing and cheese will do." She takes my bags and hand pulling me to her car.

"And tell me what you did to my friend, Rome. He is miserable." She adds.
