Ever since I could remember, I was always that I should be like this and that. Being myself was never good enough while I could be what the majority in society deemed acceptable. I shouldn't be too slim, too quiet, opinionated, or choosy. I was taught to please everyone but me.

I had to be strong enough to shoulder other people's burdens around me yet no one ever offered to relieve me of mine.

The problem with me is that in the heat of the moment, I get excited and disregard any little logic. Mason knew that as my weakness. Using emotions to manipulate mine and last night I feel like I let Rome do that. When I woke up I felt angered that yet again I had allowed to be reminded that I wasn't close enough for what was considered acceptable. I couldn't moan or scream like a woman should.

I was angered I let myself get caught up in his game. Did he make orgasm? He did. Did he rock my world? He did. Did he make me want to scream? He did. I could have called his name over and over but I had to restrain myself. I would not let him win. I wasn't going to change for anyone.

However, I did keep my word. I made him scream. I squeezed his balls a little harder. He may have thought I didn't know what I was doing, but it was intentional.

I smile at the thought.

Rome looks down at me, "You look happy." He says.

I look away, I don't know if I am happy or angry.

"Huh..." He stutters, "About last night..." He hesitates, "I feel like I pushed you hard." He says.

And I feel my anger ease, I am that easy to get through to.

"Are you saying that because you lost?" I tease him.

"Lose? It didn't seem that way." He smirks and I blush recalling last night.

"You are so full of yourself," I say lightly.

We walk inside the hospital and head to where Lia's parents said they will be. She is will be discharged today and I can't be happier.

"Morning Athena, I am so glad you are here." Lia's mother stands up to hug me.

Seems like they don't need an introduction with Rome since they all come from the same area and Rome schooled with Lia.

"I am going to kill that boy, how dare he hurt my girl." Lia's father laments. He is a huge guy gentle when needed but can be tough when provoked.

I look around hoping they got Jax, "Where is Jax?" I ask.

"Tyler took him to his parents before going into hiding and they are refusing to give him to us." Lia's mother announces.

"He thinks he can hide, he is too dumb to succeed in that." Lia's father consoles his wife.

"I am glad you managed to break free from that deranged family." Lia's mother says and I wonder if she is aware of the wife swap pact.

"Did you divorce that Mason?" Lia's father asks and I look at Rome who is watching me intently waiting for my reply.

I chuckle, "Not yet." I state.

"But you will? " He persists to know, his tone grave.

I try to act evasive but I know I have to answer him, he can be imposing. "It is complicated."

I see Rome raise his eyebrow.

I am glad when I see Lia walking towards us. I know I can't avoid the decision that is inevitable but I just need to figure out a way to confront the truth, no matter how difficult it may be.

She has a faint smile, "Hey, you made it." She says, her voice still weak from the trauma she endured.

I give her a gentle hug, "Of course I did."

Her parents faces are etched with worry and exhaustion. It is like they wish they can trade places with her.

When we are outside, her parents wait in their car as I say goodbye to Lia. Rome is few meters away but he has his eyes on us.

"I will come to visit, " I tell her and she squeezes my hand tightly.

She licks her lips and turns to Rome, "Don't be in hurry, just take your time to figure out whatever is going on between the two of you." She nods towards Rome.

"I don't know what you are implying." I feign surprise.

"I can smell the sex from here."

"Will be okay? I want to help you get Jax. If only I did not leave him with Tyler." I say filled with remorse.

"Stop. I should have never trusted Tyler to begin with." She states.

"Why did you bring him along?" I ask what has been on my mind.

She turns away to hide her shame, "He told me he wanted to change his life and help him get a job. I did, with my company." Her voice is low. "But he changed when he realized I was talking to another man and did not want him back as he thought." Her voice trembles her eyes with exhausted expression.

I lack words and just hug her. She sniff and share few last words before she leaves.

"Complicated?" Rome says once we are inside the car.

"Not in the mood." I resort to a childish reply.

"Where does that leave us?" He asks.

"Are you catching feelings?" I mock him even though my heart is pounding in my chest.

He sighs, "My feelings are under control. Just making sure we are on the same page." He states irritated.

"We are." my tone comes off rude.

"We can explore the area a bit more now that we are here since you did say you never had an opportunity to travel." He states.

He is right, the place is incredible, "We can go on a hike." I state. I was really picked in high school for such activities.

"Their food is great too." He adds his.
