Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 38

I'm crouching in the shadowy corner of a desolate warehouse, my heart pounding like a drum in my chest. The air is heavy with the scent of decay, and the only sounds are the distant hum of traffic and the soft drip-drip of water leaking from a rusty pipe overhead. I've been here for what feels like hours, waiting for the signal. It's a dangerous game I'm playing, one that could change everything.

I glance over at Marcus, Cassandra's ex-boyfriend, who's crouched beside me. He's a tall, rugged man with a face that's seen its fair share of trouble. His eyes are fixed on his phone, the glow of the screen casting eerie shadows on his face. We're both dressed in dark clothing, trying to blend into the shadows and stay hidden from prying eyes.

I can hear my own breathing, slow and deliberate, as I wait for the call. The plan is simple, but it hinges on Cassandra believing that I'm dead. Marcus and I have to make it convincing, or else everything falls apart. My palms are sweaty, and I clench my fists to stop them from trembling.

Finally, Marcus's phone buzzes softly, and he answers it with a grim expression. "It's time," he says, his voice low and full of tension. I can hear Cassandra's voice on the other end, muffled but anxious. She must be on her way.

I swallow hard, trying to keep my composure as Marcus speaks into the phone. "It's done," he says, his voice steady. "Meet me at the abandoned warehouse on Elm Street. Hurry." He hangs up without waiting for a response, and we both know that Cassandra will be here soon.

As we wait in the dimly lit warehouse, I can't help but think about the risk we're taking. Cassandra is not someone to be trifled with, and if she discovers that we've been playing her, there will be hell to pay. But I remind myself that this is the only way to bring her down, to put an end to the dangerous game she's been playing for far too long.

Minutes pass like hours, and then we hear the distant wail of sirens. The police are on their way, just as planned. Marcus and I exchange a glance, and I can see the fear in his eyes, matching my own. We've come too far to turn back now.

I lay down quickly as he pours fake blood on me. Now all i have to do is pretend to be dead long enough.

I lie still on the cold, concrete floor, every muscle in my body tense. My breathing is shallow, and my heart races as I hear the creaking of the warehouse door. Cassandra has arrived. It's the moment of truth, the culmination of our dangerous plan.

I keep my eyes shut, pretending to be dead, as Cassandra's footsteps draw nearer. I can almost feel the weight of her presence in the room. She stops, and I can sense her standing right above me. I can't see her, but I know she's looking down at what she believes is my lifeless body.

A wicked smile tugs at the corner of my lips as I hear Cassandra's voice, soft and triumphant. "Well, Katerina, it seems you've met your end," she purrs.

I resist the urge to open my eyes or react in any way. My acting must be flawless for this to work.

Cassandra's voice is joined by another, Marcus's. "Yes, it's finally over," he says, his voice filled with satisfaction.

I strain my ears to catch every word as they speak in hushed tones. Cassandra leans in closer, her words barely audible. "We'll have to be quick. We can't risk anyone finding out."

I feel Cassandra's presence moving away from me, and my heart sinks as I hear a soft, almost imperceptible sound—the sound of a kiss. My stomach churns, but I have to stay focused, stay in character.

Marcus's voice follows, just as hushed. "Don't worry, everything is set. We'll grab those items we need and plant them on Christian. He won't stand a chance."

My mind races as I try to make sense of their conversation. They plan to frame Christian for my murder, and it sounds like they've got everything meticulously planned.

Just as panic begins to bubble within me, I hear the unmistakable sound of sirens in the distance. My heart leaps in my chest. The police are coming! It's all happening according to our plan.

Cassandra's voice rises in urgency. "We have to go, Marcus. Now!"

I fight to keep my breathing steady as I hear their hurried footsteps approaching. They're so close, I can almost feel their presence beside me. My acting is put to the ultimate test as I lie there, unmoving.

Just as I hear the rustling of bags and the clinking of what must be the planted evidence, the warehouse door bursts open with a loud crash. The police have arrived, right on cue.

"Drop your weapons! You're under arrest!" a stern voice commands.

I open my eyes just a fraction, just enough to see the shock and fear on Cassandra face as she is surrounded by police officers with guns drawn. It's a satisfying sight, the culmination of days of planning and deception.

I slowly push myself up, a triumphant smile spreading across my face when Christian appears and Cassandra's mouth is on the ground. She turns and sees me alive. Then turn's to her ex boyfriend. "You..." She points at him as she is taken away.
