Bed Base

Evan's POV

After work, I went to a local pub to meet up with Zack. I desperately needed a drink to digest the unforeseen feelings and situations popping up in my life and in my mind-- Jessica Hills' return and an unexplained lustful feeling for my personal assistant.

"Well you look like hell," Zack greeted as I walked over to him.

"You have no idea man." I snatched the extra beer he held in his hand.

"What's going on?"

"Remember Jessica from high school?"

"Yeah, umm, her sister is Regina, right?"

"Right."

"Well what about her? Isn't she in Canada?"

"No. She's back and wants us to reconnect."

"Dude. No."

"And that's not the half of it," I went on.

"What else?"

I knew Zack and the way he can get when told new information about my personal life and affairs so I let it go.

I heavily exhaled a breath and raked my hand through my hair. A beer wasn't cutting it so I ordered a very strong drink and downed the first glass before pouring myself another one.

As Zack and I began another conversation my eyes traveled around the bar, taking in the sights and atmosphere and that was when my eyes glimpsed on a very familiar face across from us. I wondered what she was doing here. She was speaking with another young lady who strongly resembled her.

I brushed aside her presence. I wanted that thing I felt for her to be faded and over with. I continued drinking and watched as the younger lady stormed out of the bar and left Jasmine standing there alone. She then flopped down on a stool and ordered a beer.

There's a saying that goes like if a working woman drinks a beer that indicates she's having hell of a day... or something like that.

She had another then another then another and another one after the other before.

I couldn't comprehend what I was seeing. She wasn't the drinking type, I was absolutely certain of that. I had a few drinks too, but I couldn't keep up to her.

"What are you looking at?" Zack asked me.

"One of my employees. I'll be right back," I responded and hobbled my way over to Jasmine.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as I got up to her.

She was crying and it hurt me as I saw the tears run from her eyes. She wiped them away quickly and looked at me.

"Mr. Hollen?" she said, as if she couldn't believe I was standing in front of her.

"Miss Blackman, you're at your eighth beer already. What's going on with you?"

"I..." she began. "I'm...."

"It's okay, take your time. I'm listening." I sat down next to her when she began crying again.

The tears were just coming and coming.

Before I knew it, she had opened up to me and told me a lot about herself and her life, and I did the same. I was under the influence, but I didn't care. I was enjoying her company as she was enjoying mine. We were going on and on about our childhood, high school times, my lifestyle, and Hollen Tower.

Zack had already left when he saw he was longer needed.

Eventually, I called my personal driver to take us home.

The next day I woke up in my bed as usual. I had a screaming headache and my throat was parched. I rolled out of bed and went downstairs to the kitchen for a glass of water. I took two Advil for the awful headache then got back into my bedroom and climbed back into bed.

Something brushed against my leg.

I threw off the covers and saw a face. Her face.

What the fu**!

"Jasmine!" I shouted, getting out of bed and wrapping myself with the bed sheets.

Her eyes opened slowly and she looked up at me.

"Boss?" she asked and flung up as well, wrapping her half naked body with a bed sheet too. "Oh my God! What happened here?"

She was asking me like I had the answers to that.

"I don't know! I can't remember shit! What happened last night, what did we do?"

"I can't remember either!"

"Oh God!" I snarled.

"Oh my God!"

We scurried in all the directions of the room like wild ants.

She gathered her clothes off the floor. "Where is your bathroom?" she asked, holding her forehead.

"Straight ahead, first door on the right."

"Okay. Would you mind if I take a shower?"

"Go right ahead."

She left and I flopped back down on the bed. I looked at the wall clock, it was 9:00 in the morning.

After half an hour she came back out and stood there, looking at me.

"I'm sorry. I can't remember what happened," she said.

"Let's just forget this ever happened."

I shook it off. I picked myself up from the bed and went to my bathroom. I needed a long and steaming shower.

When I was finished, she was still there.

"Umm, are you not leaving?" I asked.

"Yeah."

She got up and walked for the door. She turned the knob and walked out.

I heard her heels on the stairs and it took everything in me not to go after her and bring her back in my bed and do something to her I would definitely remember.

I just couldn't remember what happened last night and I had so many questions. How did we get here, in my bedroom? Why were we naked? Did we have sex?

Ughhh!
