She was all over you

I let out an annoyed, deep sigh as I entered another one of my father's parties. Like every other time, I'm not sure why I am here. Rylan explained to me something about a deal he had made, but I was too busy staring into her endless sea of blue eyes. I can't help it. She is just too beautiful to look at. Especially when she tends to bite her bottom lip when she gets confused about the information. It's amazing what I can notice about a person once they have my full attention.

I looked up at Rylan and smiled as her eyes scanned the chaotic affair in front of us. She is so focused once she is in her security guard mood. I wrapped my arm around hers and it took her a minute before she realized it. However, she didn't say anything and led me forward to the bar.

"Do you want anything?" She asked me kindly, but I shook my head. She watched me surprised and I bumped into her with a chuckle.

"I just want to go home as quickly as possible," I rolled my eyes.

"Rylan?" We were both interrupted by a woman who came through the crowd towards us. A woman, perhaps mid-thirties, grinned at the sight of Rylan next to me.

"Hi, Teresa," Rylan said, confused and surprised.

"I haven't seen you in a while," Teresa smiled as she tucked some of her red hair behind her ear. I looked in between them as there is obviously some kind of close familiarity between them.

"Not since," Teresa appears to think hard as she gazed out into the air.

"Since the accident," She now had a concerned look on her face, but Rylan turned to me.

"This is Teresa. We were on the same team back in the military," She explained and I nodded kindly as I reached out my hand to the beautiful woman with green eyes in front of me.

"I'm Hadley," I said and we both shook hands. As they both got into a discussion about each other now. I drifted off the conversation as I felt so out of place. I ended up going to the bathroom to blow out some air. However, once I got back out, I found them still chatting at the bar. A ball of something in my belly made my hands turn into fists as I can't deny that the only thing I wanted tonight was Rylan's attention.

"Hi, honey," I faced my father. His familiar dark hair and eyes appear the same, but the spots underneath his eyes are not hard to notice. Perhaps the business deal he went through has kept him awake at night.

"Are you okay?" He asked calmly, which isn't often. He is always all over the place talking to other people.

"Yes," I smiled and I think it was the first time I have ever said that and meant it. A thoughtful look came onto his face as he watched me for a moment.

"I'm amazed that Rylan has stuck around for four months now," I rolled my eyes as he had to mention that.

"I haven't heard you complain either, nor has she," He added and automatically, my eyes drifted over to Rylan. She is smiling in a way I have never seen her smile before and it makes me uneasy. I turned my attention back to my father as he waited on an answer.

"She is kind," I shrugged.

"And fair. Most of the time," I had to bite my lip to hide a smile. My father only nodded and an uncomfortable silence settled around us. There are so many things I could have told him that I adore about Rylan, but if I do, it will end badly. I can't lose her. She is the only good thing I have going in my life. The only one that has made me feel wanted and safe.

I gritted my teeth as I saw Teresa was about to place her hand on Rylan's shoulder, but she deflected it casually in time. However, Teresa keeps on moving closer to her and it's pissing me off.

"Are you okay?" Dad asked.

"What?" I shook my head.

"Yes, I'm fine," I didn't quite get what he had said or why, but then I found my hands turned into fists. I can understand why people would find Teresa attractive. Perfect skin, shape, long flamy hair and beautiful green eyes that are to die for. She is more of the range of Rylan's age and they have work in common.

"I'll just head home for tonight," I told my father and he didn't even frown at me.

"Good night, Hadley," He said and I honestly don't remember the last time he said that. Perhaps when I was a little girl, which is a long time ago. I walked towards the entrance but met eyes with Rylan quickly before I left for the door. Worry was written in those blue, but for now, I want to go home.

It took Rylan not long until she placed herself in the car next to me. Yet, quietness is hanging thickly in the air like a fog as we are on the way home. I bit my inner cheek as I leaned against the door and each street lamp that passed us by washed over me with their light. The thought of Teresa trying to touch Rylan came to mind and it felt as if everything in my belly wanted to come up. But, it was also that shimmer in her eyes when she saw Rylan that took me off guard.

I trailed after Rylan out of the elevator and through the hallway. As we reached our apartments, I unlocked my own and expected her to follow after me. But, instead, she went for her own apartment door. I blinked as she went inside. Then, with fury, I took off my high heels into my hand and rushed in after her and slammed the door shut. She didn't even flinch nor turn around to face me. I breathed deeply but couldn't control my anger as I threw one of my shoes at her back to get her attention. Slowly Rylan finally turned around to face me.

"Did you just throw your shoe at me?" She asked calmly as she tilted her head. I threw the other one and she caught it against her shoulder. She watched me dumbfounded. The complete strike of confusion only added wood to the fire that is already blazing within me.

"She was flirting with you!" I pointed out and now Rylan's shoulders sank as realization caught on.

"No, she wasn't," Rylan shook her head.

"I'm not blind, Ry. She was all over you with her eyes and she wanted to touch you," I argued.

"I don't blame her. I mean, you are so," I indicated with my hand at her as I couldn't find the words as my mind is all a blur.

"And I don't blame you for finding her attractive because she clearly is beautiful and," I took a deep breath as I forgot to breathe through my rambling.

"I can understand that you would prefer her company as she has more in common with you. Then there is the fact that I'm younger than you, and"

"Stop," Rylan interrupted me and stepped towards me. I stared right up at her as I breathed heavily.

"She was all over you," The thought made me shiver and hit her on the shoulders rapidly until she took hold of my wrists and as I tried to fight her grip, my back hit the door.

"Calm down," She said and I tried to get my hands out of hers but gave up in the end. She looked at me for a long moment and it gave me time to relax my nerves.

"Maybe she was all over me. I don't know. All we talked about was the things we did in the military and I'm not going to deny that I sometimes miss being there, but," She closed her eyes and then looked at me with all seriousness.

"You, Hadley, are the only one that I can't stop thinking about. I'm breaking the rules for you. I feel comfortable around you and I can't stop myself from wanting you. You honestly think I would switch you out with someone else just like that?" She asked firmly as she watched me with pain and frustration. She looked up at her hands and blinked in shock as she let my wrists go.

"I'm sorry," She took a few steps backward.

"I didn't mind," The words slipped out of me and I pressed my lips together as I realized what I had said. Rylan narrowed her eyes as she tilted her head and I avoided eye contact.

"What?" She asked as I didn't say anything. I swallowed the lump of embarrassment as she came back to stand right in front of me.

"I kinda like it," I mumbled.

"What?" She bent forward as she didn't hear me. I sucked in a deep breath as I closed my eyes.

"I like it," I repeated myself and her eyes widened as she leaned back. Rylan opened her mouth but closed it again. She seems to be in battle on what to say. I lifted myself up on my tip toes to place my hands on her cheeks to bring her lips down to my own. Her hands slid into my own as she took me a few steps backward until my back hit the door. I smiled at her mouth as she raised my hands against the door again.

"Oh god," I moaned as her lips trailed off to my neck. I can't deal with how this woman makes me feel. It's too overwhelming and still, I want more.

She let go of my hands and slipped them down to my hips and just like that she spun me around. I placed my hands on the door. The warmth of her hands reaches for the zipper at the back of my dress. She pulled it down and then slipped the straps down my arms as she planted soft, but intense kisses on my shoulder. While her lips moved up to the back of my neck, I clenched my hands into fists to contain myself. When the dress fell to my feet, I turned around to face her.

Rylan's eyes never left my own as she leaned herself on the palm of her hands on the door. She glanced down at my lips for a second, which uncovered her desire. However, once again, she slides her hands onto my hips and my breath hitched as she raised me. I laid my arms around her neck and wrapped my legs around her waist. I grinned so brightly as she made her way over to the kitchen island and placed me down. A shiver ran through my body because of the cold marble surface underneath my naked thighs.

Desperately I yanked her down to me and crashed my lips onto hers. The way she tastes, smells, and feels is so strong that I only wish for more and more. If a person could be a drug, then that is exactly what Rylan is. The problem is that Rylan doesn't come with a warning or a manual. I don't know if I take too much or too little, but in the end, I know I'll always come for more.

Rylan's hold on my hips tightened as she pulled me closer into her. The spark in between my legs lit up higher. I slid my hands underneath her suit jacket and slid it down her shoulders. She took the hint and brought it off herself. Throwing it over to the couch, I grabbed the belt and tugged her back to me. I unbuttoned her shirt and I let out an impatient sigh as it took its time.

"From now on, you only wear clothes that won't take forever to take off," I said, annoyed as I finally reached the last button. Rylan chuckled as I slid the shirt off her. She threw it over to the suit jacket. Biting my lip, I took in the view of her beauty. The more I stare at the firm figure. The more my insecurities are bouncing around the walls. She is so perfect.

I was brought out of my thoughts as she pulled me so close to herself. She's standing tall and sort of proud.

"What?" I asked, very confused by the look in her eyes. Then she smiled crookedly.

"You get easily jealous," She mocked me. I frowned immediately and pushed her by the shoulders. She watched me with a satisfied grin on her lips.

"I do not," I looked the other way, annoyed with her accusation. This is not where I wanted this to go. I'm literally sitting in my underwear on top of her kitchen island. She leaned down to me slowly. Her lips are so near my own that I gulped to the point of giving in.

"I did not say I didn't like it," She whispered. I closed my eyes to the warmth of her breath as chills ran through my cool skin. I leaned forward as I gave in to desire, but Rylan moved away. My eyebrows furrowed as frustration bubbled inside of me.

"I want you. I want you now," I placed both my hands on her cheeks to pull her to me. Finally, she didn't back away. Rylan held me tighter against herself. I moaned as she slid her hand over my underwear at the very center. The soft touches leave me breathless, but also the need for more.

"Bedroom," She whispered and was on the way to pick me up again.

"No," I stopped her and she tilted her head in question.

"Here," I said out of breath and took her hand to place it over my center again. She watched me for a moment as if to consider my request.

"On the kitchen table?" She said as if that was needed to be spoken out loud.

"Yes," I responded and bit my lower lip. Then without warning, she raised me from the table. I wrapped my arms and legs around her tightly. Strong hands reached for my underwear and pulled them down my thighs. Back on the table again, she brought my underwear and bra off. When she looked me all over, she dragged in a deep breath. The look in her eyes is something I have never truly seen in anyone before. It's admiration, longing and affection. It takes my breath away. Three words almost slipped out of me, but I held them back at the tip of my tongue. I don't want to scare her away. I can't. She is the only one I have ever wanted.

She found my lips with hers and I let out a moan as her hand slid in between my legs. I gripped the back of her shoulders tightly as I need something to hold onto. She moves her hand slowly, sending pleasure in every direction that is needed. It feels so damn good. My hands held onto her tightly as fingertips dug into her bones.

"Faster," I breathed as greed took over every inch of my being.

"Ry," I cried out as it didn't take more than that to take me over the edge. Rylan held me as I collapsed against her. Then, out of breath, I pressed my lips to her naked shoulder. I gazed up into her shiny blue eyes and she smiled softly. She slides her hand from my back to place it on my cheek. Her soft skin radiates heat as she leans her forehead on mine. She opened her mouth but then closed it.

"What?" I chuckled.

"Nothing," She breathed out. I shook my head against hers.

"I don't believe that," I whispered, but she didn't answer me.

"What were you going to say?" I asked as curiosity made me bounce up and down. She smiled brightly at my childish act. Then she watched me in all seriousness which brought a lump of longing to my belly.

"You are truly the most beautiful, captivating women I have ever met," She said with such wonder that I froze in my seat. My lips parted, but I didn't know what to say. I felt a certain pressure in my eyes and a lump build up in the back of my throat. Rylan stood up straight in confusion as a tear sneaked itself out of my eye. She looked around then settled on picking up her white shirt. She laid it around my shoulders with worry in her eyes. In silence, she wiped away the tear that had fallen down to my chin. I tried to smile up at her as she let me cry with no judgment or questions asked. I closed my eyes hard and a waterfall of tears burst out my eyes. A pair of hands were placed onto the sides of my neck and thumbs brushed my tears away.

"I'm sorry," I finally managed to say. A kiss on my forehead made me take a deep breath to settle down.

"You have nothing to apologize for," She whispered and her breath is warm as it hit my skin.

"Come on," She brought my arms over her shoulders and picked me up. I held onto her tightly as if my life depends on her. Because in truth, it does.
