One month and four days. Salem Black has been part of my life for one month and four days. I've learned a lot about Miss Black. She has a dog named Beast and a cat named Binx, her father died when she was fourteen, and she doesn't speak to her mother that often.

Another thing I learned about Salem is that she's extremely selfless. She puts everyone above herself and while it's a positive trait of hers, it's also a negative one. She's too selfless.

I had off today and she didn't so I decided to surprise her with some of her favorite things. Today would be perfect because Halo's leaving early for a doctor's appointment. JJ had a game today which made this even better.

He's not the biggest fan of whatever Salem and I have going on but I reminded him that his opinion didn't matter to me; we aren't together.

I went to target to grab a basket and a couple of Salem's favorite things before going back home and putting the basket together. I took a shower, did my hair and makeup, and put on something nice.

I played some music during the drive and stopped to grab myself a quick drink from Dunkin' Donuts.

I don't like to talk and drive but whenever Lilian calls I answer immediately because it could be urgent. Most times it's not, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Incoming call from 'Silly Lilly'

Well hello to you too

Hi- are you driving?

I am. Make it quick I'm on my way to pick up Halo.

Call me when you're home. I'll tell you then.

Is it important?

Yes, but it can wait. I would prefer to tell you now but you're evidently busy.

Lilian...

Lilian, are you pregnant?

Lilian Jean! I told you to stop being a whore. Keep your fucking legs closed.

What's up with everyone getting pregnant? First one of the cooks at the diner and now Lilian? I pray to God I'm not next.

But anyways I parked the car and went to the front office, Salem's gift basket in hand.

"Good afternoon, Rosanna." I smiled.

"Good afternoon, Miss Hanes. What can I do for you?" She asked, a smile on her face.

"I'm here to pick up Halo for a doctor's appointment. I forgot to let you guys know." I answered.

"Sign her out," She said, holding a clipboard in my direction, "I'll call down for her while you do that."

"Would it be okay if I went up to get her? I want to give Miss Black something."
