One Sunday morning, as I was about to enter the church, I heard someone, calling my name.

I turned, only to see Bro Wale running towards my direction.

I greeted him.

“Sis Damilola, I’ve been calling your name since morning. Thank God you finally heard me. I will like to see you after church service, today” He said.

Many thoughts came to my mind.

“Why did he want to see me?” I asked no in particular.

“Bro Wale of all brothers wants to see me…?” I said to myself.

To be sincere with you, Bro Wale was someone I respect a lot. Cute, light in complexion, tall….

A fire brand. I mean spirikoko brother.

His zeal and passion for God can’t be overemphasized.

I waited after the service.

“Sis Damilola, I’m sorry for keeping you waiting for so long.” He said as he took his seat.

“I actually want to discuss something with you, Sis Damilola” He said.

I urged him to say whatever he wanted to say so that I could go home (My stomach was already crying for hunger so, I needed to go home immediately.)

“All right, sis Dami.

I’ve been praying to God for a life patner. God has been telling me you’re the one for me.

I dreamt some days ago and I saw the two of us happily married with our children.

This is not the first time I had such a dream. I had numerous dreams. I mean numerous.

I know you’re not married.

I want to marry you. I want you to be the mother of my children. I want to be your baby . I want to be your head.

Please, I want to marry you.

Will you marry me Sis Damilola?

I just need you to give me a yes.

Please don’t reject my proposal.

I really love you sis. I want you in my life. You have everything I need in a woman.

Please, marry me.” He said.

I was silent for minutes. I didn’t know what to say.

Something was bothering my mind.

He made mention of “children”.

“Has God finally given me a new womb?” I asked myself.

“Did God reveal anything about me to you?” I asked him.

He said yes.

I almost urinated on my body.

“What did you see?” I asked him.

“God told me you are my perfect rib. He told me you’ll be a good wife…” He said.

“Is that all?” I asked.

“Yes… So are you saying YES?” He asked.

I told him to give me time to pray about it.

I told my mentor about him. She only asked me to pray about it.

I prayed to God to reveal if he was the man to me.

I didn’t see anything.

I kept praying to God for clarity, yet I didn’t hear anything from God.

I actually loved him. He was my spec. I was ready to marry him.

After some months, my love for him waxed stronger.

We became intimate friends. We studied the Bible together. We did a lot of things together except se.x.

When I realized that I was getting too close to him, I cautioned myself. I didn’t want what happened to me in my past to occur.

I began to withdraw from him. Although, we were still communicating with each other.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was when he slapped me.

He actually asked me to do something for him. He said I was sluggish.

So, I received a very hot slap for being sluggish.

Immediately, my face changed.

“Bro Wale, you slapped me? ” I asked.

“Yes! I will do that over and over again if you don’t do whatever I ask you to do on time, next time.” He said.

“You slapped me.. ?” I asked again.

“Yes, I’m training you. I want you to be a very good wife material” He said.

It was as if I should slap him. I cautioned myself.

I took my bag, ready to leave his house.

He was very smart. He ran towards the door and locked it.

“I thought you are a fire brand brother?” I asked.

“Yes, I am” He said.

I was using my eyes to scan his house. I was desperately thinking of how to escape.

“Sis Damilola, I need to taste you before I legally marry you” He said.
