Synopsis

S Y N O P S I S

With senior year well underway, Cali's plan to get into Fenton University's elusive Masters of Nursing program is set into motion. The competition is stiff, but she has a sure-fire way to get her where she wants to go. That is, until Cali's success lies in the prized member of the boxing team—Lincoln Pierce. Now tasked with tutoring the brooding fighter to secure a letter of reference from her professor, Cali launches herself at the opportunity. But she soon realizes that Lincoln is a hell of a lot more than she bargained for.

Lincoln Pierce has no idea what he's doing or where he's going. One thing is for sure—he wants nothing to do with tutoring and even less to do with Cali, especially when her determination soon threatens to expose secrets he's purposefully left in the dark. But with his grades slipping, there's more than just Lincoln's full-ride scholarship on the line. Lincoln must accept Cali's help or lose everything he's fought for.

And as it turns out, she may end up getting more than a little extra credit.

"Do you know who you're tutoring yet?" Harper asked.

Dusting bread crumbs off my hands, I spun around to face my laptop. "Actually, I got an email about it earlier but I was too busy cross checking references to see what it said."

Harper and Ella were up in a flash, each of their heads over my shoulders. I scanned through my overflowing inbox before I came across the subject line: Supplemental Instruction Assignment.

The room was silent—the only noise came from the clicking of my mouse pad as I opened the email. I slid my finger along the laptop, scanning for any useful tidbits of information.

"Referral number. Professor. Course. Supplemental Instructor. Ah, there it is—student," I murmured to myself. With the cursor, I highlighted over the black text that read the name Lincoln Pierce.

"His name is—" I started, before I felt the shift in the room.

Behind me, I could feel my best friends tense before they simultaneously said the most unnerving thing they could have possibly said at that moment.

"Fuck."
