The talk with Kate turned out to be good.

It felt like it was before.

We laughed and reminisce the old times, which is very refreshing.

Now I see the old Kate, my best friend.

Though I still didn't tell her anything about me and Emma, I preferred my relationship with her to be private, if there is any.

Soon enough we finished stacking books.

Thanks to her interests in it, it made our job much easier.

I used to call her bookworms. She always buried herself reading in the library which I find so boring but I respected it.

It is actually nice of her knowing lots of things.

She will read something and relay it to me after, which is good coz I am not into reading.

"See, we finished early. Come 'on, I'll take you home." She walked towards the door and didn't wait for me to answer.

I'm not gonna say no, though.

I don't want to walk now.

I stayed behind her which gives me the chance to watch her back. Don't get me wrong, there was no malice there.

I am actually happy that I have given her the chance.

I saw the jolly Kate I used to know.

The way she talked to me now, no flirting at all.

Though we didn't talk about the kiss, which I think is better. It's like a start over for both of us.

And I am liking it.

I just hope that Emma will see it that way as well.

She seems to hate Kate and act jealous of her sometimes.

Will explain it to her if given time.

"Do you still live in the same house?" I asked her after I climbed up her car.

"Nope, I actually live a little bit far, but it's fine. I'm used to it now." She busied herself reversing her car not even looking at me.

"Well, maybe I can visit sometime." I said nonchalantly.

That made her look.

"Really? I mean, that would be great. Mom would be happy to see you. She was actually asking about you yesterday."

She's so happy, I can see that. And excited, I guess.

"Ohh, I miss Aunt Lucy, can you please send my regards to her and tell her, I'll visit soon." It made me feels excited as well thinking about her Mom, she has the nicest Mom ever.

We are already in front of my building when she speaks.

"Will do, Jenny." She held my hand and smiled at me genuinely.

Yes, I feel her act was genuine. I know it was fast for me to trust her again or something.

But from the library up to here, I didn't see anything wrong, just the old Kate, the talkative and jolly Kate I know and I am actually relieved by that.

I'll go to school now without any hesitations and heaviness in my chest that I will be seeing her in my first period.

Thinking about that, I hugged her.

She was taken surprised by that but hugged me back after a while.

The hug took longer than expected but I didn't care, maybe I missed her, only the friendship, nothing more.
