My girl Neighbour -S01 E26

We stopped and looked at each other, wondering is written in both our faces. Who could that be?

"Are you expecting someone?"

"Are you expecting someone?"

Both of us said in the same time.

"It's your house, Em. I don't expect anybody to look for me here." I told her with my eyes big.

"Ohh, right. But you don't have to be sarcastic about it." She sends me that glare again.

"I am no—"

"Hep - pep - pep!" Before I could contradict on what she said, she stopped me and put her hand on my mouth.

"Let's just see who is it, ok?" She looked at me, still her hand on my mouth.

God knows how much I'm fighting my insides not to bite her.

I nod my head before she removed her hand on my mouth.

Again, whoever was on the other side of the door knocked for the second time.

We looked at each other again and we both stood up.

We walked gently towards the door like we were in a scary movie.

Emma peeked on the peephole while I am at the waiting for her.

"It's a girl."

"It's a what?"

Before I could peek, Emma opens the door and it caused me to stumble behind it.

It made a loud sound and I looked like a kid fell on my feet.

"Shit! Ouchhhh!" I seriously hurt myself.

Emma didn't even bother to look at me and check what happened.

"Hi Miss. Can I help you?" I heard her speak to the girl.

"Dammit." I mumbled to myself.

I tried to stand up fast but I think something wrong in my ankle, damn it hurts so bad.

"Hi, Is Jen there? Though I already heard her curse behind the door." The girl giggled.

I went back to my senses when I heard the girl on the other side of the door.

Even with pain, I took the door knob from Emma and opens the door widely.

"K-Kate? What are you doing here?"

Emma suddenly looks at me, though I cannot read what she was thinking, I know it wasn't good.

"Sooo, it's for you after all." Emma flashed me a fake smile before she turns her head to Kate.

"Uhm, you left your phone in my car. Maybe it fell off when.., you know."

Oh my gawddd, it's not happening. I pinched myself couple of times hoping it was just a dream.

How on earth I didn't notice that my phone wasn't in my pocket?

I got so excited seeing Emma that none of the things matters to me?

Emma automatically looked at me when she heard what Kate said. Hey eyes were so big, I know she wanted to say something but she couldn't in front of Kate.

When suddenly I felt a pinching at the back of my hips.

I wanted to express the pain but I couldn't because Kate is still in front of us.

I looked at Emma smiling. I gave her a fake smile as well.

"Thanks .. Kate. But how did you know I was here?"

I took Emma's hand still at my back and dropped it.

"Well, your Mom said you'd be here so, I came here to give you this." She handed me my phone.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

I know that look, we're friends long enough for me to know if she was thinking something else.

"Nope, you're not. Anyways, thanks Kate. I'll see you tomorrow?"

I don't mean to be rude by I need it to be over. I need Kate to leave.

"Hey, that's rude. Why don't you come over for dinner? Jen made a quiche and fish fillet. I gathered you're friends. I'm Emma by the way." Emma reached for Kate's hand and she accepted it gladly.

"I'm Kate."

"So I heard. Come on in, Kate."

WTF is happening? Why did she invite her over? I'm screwed.

Both of them are already inside, Kate was telling her something but I couldn't understand it as my mind seems to be in a different world.

"Jenny? Are you coming?"

My head turns to Kate and then to Emma.

No! I'm not!

I hope one of these days I could read Emma's face and what she's thinking.

Like about now. It was a torture not knowing.

I walked back to the dining and sat on my chair while Emma was preparing a plate for Kate.

"We've met before already if you remember, in the grocery?"

"Oh yeah, I remember."

I was suddenly out of place. I lost my appetite as well.

I was just looking to both of them exchanging words like they've known each other for a long time.

"Right, Jen?" Kate said. Both of them are looking at me, waiting for me to answer.

What were they talking about? I'm here and I didn't hear a single word of what they've talked about.

"W-What?"

"Are you okay, Jenny? You don't look well." It was Kate again.

Emma was just eyeing me in distance.

Boy, what did I do in my past life to deservethis.
