(At the eatery)

They both sat facing each other with a cup of alcoholic wine in front of Caleb and a cup of juice in front of Daniella who went on to narrate her ordeal to Caleb.

“….so my dear, that’s how bad things have gotten ever since I lost my pregnancy,” Daniella said.

“Hmmm!” Caleb sighed deeply.

Then folding his arms he said,

“I guess reality and the after effect of watching another man sleep with his wife, is suddenly settling in. No wonder he is beginning to keep me at arm’s length these days at work”

“What are you talking about?” Daniella asked.

“Never mind you won’t understand. Anyways, as I told you before if you ever need my help in anything or someone to talk to, then just feel free to let me know” Caleb said.

“But why?” Daniella asked.

“But why what?” Caleb asked.

“Why are you showing concern towards me?” Daniella asked.

“Because I feel like I’m partly responsible for what has been happening in your home” Caleb said.

“You know that’s not true Caleb. Nathan started all of these. And it breaks my heart to see him push the blames on us despite knowing full well that this whole thing was all his idea from the beginning” Daniella said.

“I can’t argue with that. But still, I can’t blame Nathan. Because he did what he thought was right. But what I don’t like, is him pushing the blames and guilt on you. All the same, I pray and believe that someday, all these will come to an end” Caleb said.

“I pray so,” Daniella said fighting back tears.

Seeing tears drop from her eyes, Caleb immediately stretched his hand towards her face and slowly wiped off the tears from her eyes.

This got Daniella staring curiously at him.

Then unexpectedly leaning in, Caleb reached for her lips and pressed his on hers.

When his lips touched that of Daniella, she immediately froze in shock.
