Lora woke up the next morning on a strange bed , in a strange room, it took her some time to recollect what had happened with her the previous day, the guy had picked up her clothes and undies from where she had dumped them, and arrange them on the bed . He dropped a stack of one thousand naira notes , Lora counted it and found out he paid her three times of the agreed amount, and tears rolled down her eyes as she read a note he dropped for her .

“Hey girl, I could almost swear that you are a virgin, your walls are so tight , I felt sorry for you yesterday, I didn’t know why you got into this business, but you are not a prostitute, I’ve been into this game for a long time now, I just hope you can retrace your footsteps, it’s the first time I felt guilty for sleeping with a runs girl , pardon me , I dropped a hundred and fifty thousand for you, I saw you were in a deep sleep , so I decided to leave without waking you up,I’m a married man , I wouldn’t want to be emotionally attached to you, so I didn’t ask for your number, have a great time, Adekunle kuti”

,Tears swam down het brown skin ,she got up to wear her clothes , she checked time on her phone, she was Almost twenty minutes late for morning class.She rushed into the bathroom took her bath, She was sore in her private parts , walking was difficult.

So She took an Uber home , only to meet the doors to the flat locked , and Lara had gone with the keys .

“Lara where are the keys to the house? Why would you take the key to school ? You know I’ve a class this morning, how would you take the key to school.”

Lora was angry at her sister.

” I told mum, that you didn’t sleep at home yesterday, that you went clubbing with Sharon, she asked me to lock the door and take the key to school ! So if you have an issues with that call mum .”

Lora began to cry .

“Lara you’re wicked ! Lara you’re just pure evil .”

Lora went to a nearby boutique to get a gown , she dressed and took a cab that took her to school.

She kept running to the lecture room , she knew Prof Hedong was a time keeper, and hated truancy and lateness .

“Lora why are you just coming to class now ?”

“Am sorry sir, somethings came up.”

Lora said Professor Hedong was not satisfied, she was one of his best students in the department, punctuality and being studious was what he knew her for .

“Lora come and see me in my class this morning, after this class , I can’t take any lackadaisical attitude from you.”

He continued with his lecture. Lora could see Bidemi starring at her with a burning eyes, she looked away . After the class Bidemi gathered her bags and left the class before Lora would come to her . Lora tried to catch up with her, but she disappeared into the crowd of students.

Lora went to the professor’s office . The wall was lined up with picture of Prof Dong with dignitaries, he even had a picture he was smiling and shaking hands with former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

His desk , his office space was covered with dark brown executive tables and chairs , he had BooK shelves behind his sit.

“Lora tell me what is going on with you? You’ve been dropping points , imagine you scoring 65 in Biochemistry? Are you progressing or retrogressing ? How can you jump from hundred to sixty five, and see when you came I class , thirty minutes after start or class ?”

Lora sat still like a mute picture.

“Lora! I’m talking to you!”

Lora looked up at the angry lecturer, it was the first time, she had ever seen the lecturer angry .

“Are you having some family issues? You’re my finest student , I think you’ll break the deadlock of no medical student, getting a first class since 1985, I don’t want you to mess your opportunities.”

Lol feigned a superficial smile.

“Sir I’m fine, no issuess, I’ll sit up and get my grades up.”

The Prof returned to a journal he was reading .

” You can leave my office now ”

Lora quietly left and returned to the next hall where there had a class on Pharmacology, the lecturer had not come , she saw Japheth the course rep .

“Hello Japheth please can I see you? ”

Japheth held held Lora’s hand, and led her aside .

“Yeah what is it ? ”

He asked.

“Please how much am I owing? ”

Japheth laughed .

“You mean cumulatively? ”

He continued laughing.

“Stop laughing at me jore it’s not funny.”

Japheth got serious.

“Okay Lora for this semester you’re owing about fifty thousand naira , I gave you two test books on Pharmacology and Physiotherapy…”

Lora cut him up, Japheth was her friend, Lora was a lively person who everyone who comes across her loved.

” Okay fifty five thousand naira.”

Lora brought out a crisp bundle of new naira bills she counted fifty five thousand and paid to Japheth.

“Lora where did you get all those money? I hope you didn’t go to steal .”

Lora continued counting not minding Japheth’s remark.

” I’m grateful Japheth for how you’ve been covering up for me , if not for you , I don’t know how I would escape these hungry lecturers .’

Japheth laughed exposing his white teeth .

“And I’ve been begging you to date me for three years and you refused, now you saying you appreciate me ?”

Lord rolled her eyes and walked away , why Japheth laughed and followed behind her to join the lecture.

Lora was going home from school, when a young man was screaming and running after her .

“Lara Lara! Please wait up Lara!”

Lora ignored him and continued making her way to the on campus taxi park . He cuaght up with her and pulled her back by her shoulder .

“Lara when did this began ? That I’ll call you and you ignore me ?

Lora had no time for Idle conversation, she wanted to get home, to massage her private parts with hot water.

“Please what do you want? I’m in a hurry to get home !”

The young man was puzzled.

“Lara why are you being do rude to me ?”

He asked “Please my name isnt Lara I’m Lora, Lara is my twin sister, please can I be on my way ?”

The young man was dumbfounded.

“My name is Macaulay, I am in law department, I’m a course mate of Lara, I’m so surprised that she never mentioned having a twin sister an identical one for that . You guys can’t be differentiated.”

Lora was used to people sayubg that, apart from character and mannerism Lora and Lara were the same person.

“Okay Mr Macaulay I should be on my way, I had a very tiring day .”

Macaulay kept running after Lora.

“Please can I get your number ?”

He pleaded .

“Nope! You can’t get my number, I don’t know you.”

Macaulay kept following and begging Lora as she hopped on a cab and it drove away . Lora stopped at a pharmacy, to get ibuprofen , the pain on her private parts regions was just unbearable.

She had a hot water bath , and massaged her body , she Ignored Lara who was cooking in the kitchen , she had bought take out meal from a restaurant on her way back . She had slept after eating . She was so tired. She was only wokem up by the quarrelsome noise coming from the living room .

“Get out of this house now Bidemi!”

Lara yelled

“Tolotolo if you don’t leave my way I’ll break you like a crayfish!”

Bidemi screamed ,she had a thunderous voice.

“You think I’m Lora? I’m not gentle ! I’ll give you the beating of your life, if you don’t step aside .”

Lara insisted that Bidemi must leave . Bidemi wrestled Lara out of the way , she fell on a sofa.

“Guys just stop this Madness !”

Lora screamed, Bidemi made her way for Lora’s room.

” Why were you fighting her? I thought you were keeping malice with me?”

Lora asked her .

“Lora you’re a good person, prostituting your body to get money for school is the wrong thing to do .”

Lora was not ready for a sermon.

“Please please Bidemi, I don’t have time for your sermon. For three years and six months, I’ve been suffering in this school, my mum won’t buy my books , my mum won’t buy pad for me, my mum won’t buy my clothes, I’m ridiculed in the class. You think I don’t know you’re keeping malice with Gloria and Chinwe in the department, because they called me church Ra ? What have done wrong ? My mum turned her face on me , my dad turned her face from me , even God.”

She stopped talking to wipe tears from her eyes.

“Whatever I’ve to do to make something out of my life I’ll do , I’m sorry if it hurts you.”

She was sobbing, Bidemi didn’t know what else to say .

“Please just be careful, there are a lot of sexually transmitted diseases out there. You could easily contract it and it would make your life worst . ”

Bidemi said .

“Bidemi I don’t need to be told , I’m careful, I’m using protection.”

Lora and Bidemi talked till late night when Bidemi dozed off on Lora’s bed .
