Forbidden desire - S01 E10

Hearing Daniella agree to his idea for the first time, Nathan’s heart dropped. And at that moment, he didn’t know if he should be happy or sad.

“Are you sure you will be okay with that?” Nathan asked casting a curious look at her.

“As long as it will help restore peace and happiness in my home. Then I have no problem with it” Daniella responded clenching her fist.

Nathan then slowly reached for her clenched fist and began rubbing it.

“Thank you so much, sweetheart. For agreeing to do this for us” Nathan said.

In response, Daniella gave him a sad smile.

After getting Daniella’s consent, Nathan went ahead to speak with Caleb the next morning at work.

(Inside his office the next morning)

They both sat facing each other in utter silence. Then after a while of sitting in awkward silence, Nathan finally summoned the courage to speak.

“So, regarding what we discussed, I would like to hear your final answer,” Nathan said placing his clasped hands on his office desk.

Hearing this, Caleb took a deep breath before finally getting the composure to ask.

“Nathan, are you sure you really want me to do this?” He asked staring steadily at Nathan who quickly wore a reluctant smile to hide his true feelings about what he had requested of Caleb.

“I have never been so sure of anything than I am now” Nathan responded with a reluctant smile.

“What about your wife? Does she know about this?” Caleb asked.

“Yeah. We already discussed it” Nathan responded.

“And…..? What was her response?” Caleb asked.

“After giving it a thought, she finally agreed to go with the idea” Nathan responded relaxing back in his seat.

“Oh! I see…….” Caleb said with fear in his heart.

“So, Caleb, it’s now left for you to make the final decision. Will you help pull a long-time friend out of his miseries?” Nathan asked fixing a steady gaze on Caleb who began rubbing his palms on his thighs with fear and confusion in his heart.

“Before I give my answer, I would like to know what will happen after I do this” Caleb said.

“And, what do you mean?” Nathan asked with his brows narrowed in confusion.

“How will you see me after this? I hope this won’t affect our long-term friendship?” Caleb asked.

Then shaking his head, Nathan said,

“Trust me, Caleb. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. This will have nothing on our friendship. Rather, I will forever be indebted to you” Nathan said.

Hearing this, Caleb heaved out a sigh of relief and said,

“I hate to say this. But I will do it for you” He said agreeing to Nathan’s request.

Hearing this, Nathan suppressed a tear. Then standing to his feet, he walked up to Caleb and warmly embraced him.

“Thank you so much, Caleb. I will never take this for granted” Nathan said.

(A few days later at Nathan’s house)

That night at 10 pm, Nathan kept pacing from one corner of his living room to the other while impatiently waiting for Caleb’s arrival.

Shortly after, he heard a knock on his door. And with haste, he rushed to the door and grabbed the handle pulling it open.

“Hi, Nathan” Caleb greeted with a reluctant smile.

“Welcome, Caleb. Please come in” Nathan said stepping aside while motioning him to come in.

And with his heart pounding restlessly, Caleb walked in.

Then gesturing towards the staircase, Nathan said,

“Please this way,” Nathan said leading the way.

Then with anxiety in his heart, Caleb followed him from behind.
