As they were talking, Uthman walks into the room frowning, he doesn’t greet or talk to the men, he just walks in pouring himself a wine and then takes his seat as he drinks it.

Sufyan What’s wrong with him?

Faidh His oversized ego was deflated by a young boy at the bread shop… Let him be..

Uthman thought families looked after one another… You’re supposed to be helping me..

Faidh Help you? So I should use my influence and punish a young boy for a bread he so rightly deserved.. Don’t be a child Uthman.. You’re a man… Don’t always depend on people to settle your affairs…. Now if you have nothing important to say.. I’d like you to leave the room.. As you can see we’re having a very serious discussion.

Uthman stands up and walks out of the room in anger, muttering under his breath to handle the situation… As soon as he was gone.. The men continue from where they left off.

Faidh So What are we to do.. Abdul? This matter is precious to me and my daughter.

Abdul Just do as I tell you.. I’ll try to find out who Al-Mukhtar is bribing and I’ll see that the Sultan chooses Hamid as his next heir.

Faidh Good absolutely wonderful.. And as for you Sufyan for bringing us this news… Choose among my concubines which one you want… I’m in a generous mood.

Sufyan Thanks Faidh.. But I have quite a number of concubines all I want in return is your respect..

Faidh Very well.

Sufyan stands up and walks out of the room, as soon as he leaves the house.. He thinks over what Abdul said to Faidh.

Sufyan Rich swines… Everyone is after the throne… Even the vizier is conspiring with Faidh to make way for his daughter… Oh well… Let me go and see Karim.. I’m sure he’ll be pleased to hear this news.

While Sufyan goes straight to Karim’s place.. Abdul begins to get suspicious of Sufyan and warns Faidh about him.

Abdul Do you think it was wise to have Sufyan in our presence… I don’t trust that dog.

Faidh So do I but he brought us a valuable information…

Abdul It doesn’t matter… I hope he doesn’t go round and spread what we discussed here.. I’ll be going now… Good day.
