Sadiq ➡ (laughs) Farhan you gullible dreamer… Don’t forget.. The rich and powerful own this city.. Tell me one poor fellow you know became rich here?

Farhan couldn’t say anything after that.. I couldn’t blame him.. People like us want a better life for ourselves and the ones we love but as long as the rich keep taking everything for themselves.. We just have to shut up and watch or just deal with it. But the good thing about this life is there is hope and miracle.

Sadiq ➡ Sorry farhan.. I didn’t mean to crush your dreams.. All we can do is pray to the gods that’s all… Okay.. I have to go now.. Night is approaching and I need to buy some bread for tonight’s meal.

Farhan and I parted ways and I hurried to the market.. As I got there, I immediately went to the bread shop before it closed, Fortunately for me.. There was one last bread left , so I quickly grabbed it before anyone else would, just as I was about to pay for the bread, a man grabbed me from behind commanding me to give him the bread.

Uthman ➡ Hey you.. Lad.. Give me the bread.

Sadiq ➡ Why?

Uthman ➡ Because I said so..

Sadiq ➡ No.. This bread is mine..

Uthman ➡ See this stinking pauper.. GIVE ME THE BREAD!!!

Sadiq ➡ I said.. NO!!!

Sadiq ➡ You’re a shameless fool arguing with a little boy over a loaf of bread..

Abeer ➡.. Uthman stop at once… This is a shop not a fighting arena.. If you want bread, you’ll have to come back tomorrow…

Uthman ➡ (growling) You!!! Little boy.. I’ll make you pay for your insolence.. You’ll see..

After that, The man left.. Abeer the shop owner called me aside and gave me a sound piece of advice.

Abeer ➡ Sadiq.. You. Should have given him the bread..

Sadiq ➡ But sir, it is all I could afford for tonight’s meal.. I won’t starve myself or my mom because of someone.

I ran out happily out of the shop and used the gold coins to buy a new robe for my mom since the one she has is tattered and worn out..

That night, My mom, Summaiyah and I sat in storage room, enjoying our dinner of bread, dates and fish.. Summaiyah only ate the dates and left the fish and bread for us.. My mom was happy about the robe I bought for her.
