“Are you sure she’s gonna wake up today…. Because it seems like she gonna sleep the whole day”..I heard Ronald voice…

“With time she will love wake up….the drugs are still taking effect. The moment she’s done with the drip,,,,she will be discharged… But remember, she still in her first trimester”.. another random voice spoke….

“Oh…ok… thanks doc”….Ronald uttered..before I heard closing of the door…..

Ronald took my right hand which was beside him and squeeze it softly…..

“Damn!!!….I should have use protections”…he cussed…

I squeeze my brow,,,,,what does he mean by protections….

Why is he suddenly becoming so soft and ….and … caring….

I should just open my eyes and ask him what I’m doing here in the hospital….

“Ro…. Ronny” I called out…

“You’re awake colla….I thought the doctor said that you will sleep the whole of today” he stuttered…..

I coughed and beckon for a glass of water that was placed beside my bed….

Ronald quickly hand the glass over to me….

And I gulped the whole water at a go, before handling it back to him….

Muttering the word “thank you”..

“How are you feeling now”…he managed to ask after much hesitation …..

“I’m fine now….I just wanna go home…I hate the smell of hospitals..it make me wanna puke”I stated….

“Ok….I Will inform the doctor for your discharge”.. he stood up and rush towards the door….

“ERM… Ronny…is their anything wrong with me???” I ask

He paused and stare at me briefly…

“Err.. just don’t stress yourself,,,I will be back in a jiffy”he muttered before rushing off….

Weird!!!…..

I sat up and stare around feeling so lazy….

I removed the drip from my hands and made to stand up,but failed….

“I’m pressed” I mumbled…

A groan left my mouth as I stagger to the bathroom…

Why peeing, I felt a slight pain struck my abdomen and I shrieked….

I rushed out of the toilet,,my hands on my tummy….

And I mistakenly bumped on a nurse…

“Ma’am…you shouldn’t have gone out of your bed,you aren’t stable yet…and you might also hurt your baby”the nurse bickered as she helped me to my bed….

“Baby????”…I asked unbelievable….

She stare at me like I have grown thorns of head.

“Your husband haven’t told you yet that you are pregnant”. She said and I gasp….

Hus….. Husband????….

Pre…pr…. pregnant????..

Oh my God….what have I gotten myself into….

I have a baby inside of me….

I…I…I…

My hands unconsciously rub on my tummy….

I’m just sixteen (16),,and I already have a life inside of me….

What would have been Ronald’s reaction….

My mama….she will surely be disappointed with me….

I rubbed on my tummy with a slight smile…

Maybe it’s how God destined it….

“Ma’am.. ma’am” the nurse broke me out of my trance….

“Are you alright??”….

“Yh”,,, I nodded my hand and wave at her dismissively…

“I need some privacy” I uttered dryly and she nod her head….

She walked out from my ward room after noting something in her jotter….

I leaned back on the headboard….

I’m gonna be a mama soon….

Who knows what’s going on in Ronald’s head…

At that moment,the doctor stepped in with a smile….

Ronald was not with him….

He helped me up and began leading me outside the ward …

“You’re discharged already…. after some weeks,,you have to come back for your antenatal…I have list out something’s that you will eat and those that you won’t eat because of the health of your baby….I know you’re too small for this,, but all I have to say is…early birth is the best… just be safe with your baby…and ,, your baby daddy is waiting outside for you…see you next time”. The doctor waved at me after he escorted me to the hospital park. And is their I met Ronald standing beside his Jeep (lexus 360) obviously waiting for me..

“Thanks doc” I greeted before walking up to Ronald….

I brought my head down a bit as I approach him…

To be frank,I was speechless….

I don’t even know how to express my self…

Ronald face was just expressionless….

He opened his car door for me,and I slid in next to the drivers seat….

He close the door and walk round his car before and entering the drivers seat….

The engine roared to live before it take off….

The drive to the house was a very silent one….

And you know,that type of silent do kill, emotionally…

I badly want to talk to him,,, but I can’t bring myself to say a word….

We both entered the apartment together,,,not after greeting some of his neighbors…

I became scared,,maybe Ronald is planning on something…

When I couldn’t hold it anymore,I decided to speak up…

“I’m sorry Ronald….if it’s because of the baby that made y….

He interrupted my word with a hug…

He hugged me as if he’d gonna loose me any moment from now..

I felt water touch my should and I gasp….

Ronald is crying….

“Ronny,are you alright” I asked feeling perplexed…

He sniffed before slowly disengaging the hug…

He face me with tears still stuck in his eye…

And my hands unconsciously wipe it off…

“I’m happy…I just happy colla…. I’m gonna become a father soon..I …I…I just don’t wanna talk about how happy I am” he stuttered in tears….

I don’t know when tears drop down my eye…

He accepted me..he accepted the baby…

My joy knew no bound as I stare at him with a smile….

“My ex fiance died with my baby,,in a car accident…” He shooked his head…”Just forget about it” he heaved a breath and peck my lips.. “I Will be out for some hours.. just don’t stress yourself”he said and I nod my head…

Then he left….

I stood daze at his confession… maybe it’s still in his memory…

Is that why he’s like that,,,,

He accepted my baby…and not me….

Maybe with time he will still accept me…

I don’t care about my age anymore.. I don’t care about the things people will say…

I’m just proud to be a young mama….

Maybe with time,, Ronny will accept me just like he accepted our baby” was what was lingering in my mind…
