I was earnestly kneeling and begging.

His wife kept looking at me, she felt sympathetic. She was heart broken all of a sudden she started crying.

Her tears began to fall on my legs.

She cried, grabbed my two hands to raise me up and said.

“My daughter, I’m so sorry for what my husband has been doing to you, I’m , I’m so sorry for keeping a blind eye all this while. Please I want you to forgive me from the bottom of your heart. Chidinma my daughter please.”

I drew closer to where she was, we wiped each others tears and then I replied her “Ma it’s okay I know you felt that way cos you didn’t have enough evidence to support it. bin I understand you mummy. I can relate and I’m not mãd at you at all.”

“But this useless fõol needs to rot in jail or if possible life imprisonment. You have no reason to be in this world. Your sins cannot be forgiven. You don’t deserve to live. Stupid Mãn” I yelled in anger while ãiming squarely at him with my right hand as tears streamed down my cheeks.

“Honey, you don’t just understand. Just give me little time I can explain” He replied from where he was standing as he knelt down to beg his wife.

“Oh you want to pretend again just like you did the other time, thinking that I will still fall for it?.” She yelled in anger and sobbed continuously as she clutched his t shirt indignantly .

His wife gave him three strong slaps and stated, “You’re no longer my husband as of today. See I don’t really have what to say to you now. I’ll bring the divorce papers, and you’ll sign them.”

“Honey please don’t do this, you know I love you, you want to ruin our marriage just because of this little girl” he pleaded remorsefully.

“Are you out of your mind?,

Do you know what you just did?

I should forgive you???,

For goodness sake!!!, do you realize what you’ve been doing to this innocent girl?.”

“What kind of husband are you?

After marrying you, After paying my bride price, After giving you kids, you still have the heart to ràpe this innocent girl, Ebuka why are you this heartless?.. Why are men this heartless” My aunt moaned in agony as she sobbed uncontrollably.

My daughter I know you want to see your parents but it’s 3:20pm and the journey should elapse 6hrs. Please hold on till tomorrow morning.

I just quickly left the room, my aunt yelled my name countless times, crying immensely but I paid deaf ears.

I took my bag, wore another T-SHIRT took the little money I had with me and left the house for them.

Due my quest for meeting my parents, I began to solicit assistance in gathering the entire sum of money.

I stopped the first taxi and explained to the driver that he should please assist me to the nearest bus-stop but the driver and most of the passengers insulted me earnestly. Due to the shame and embarrassment I left there and sat near a local shop where I began to cry with my head resting on my laps.

The owner of the shop spotted me and she felt upset when she saw me crying. When she came, I briefed the whole story to her and she felt so devastated.

“Don’t worry my dear, the lord will guide you, take this little one I have, okay God will see you through” She responded in sympathy as she handed over the money to me.

I greeted her, thanked her, and then exited.

Then I flagged down another cab and paid for it with some of the cash the woman had given me. That was how I got to the park.
