I DO - S01 E273

Read Story: I DO Zeeworld, Monday 16th October 2022 Update

We start the episode with Begum collapsing in the middle of the road, as she gets out of the car, still stunned and aghast as to what she had to do to one of her sons in order to save the other two sons. she lets out a scream in disgust. she says that today she had to pay a price to be the mother, that no mother ever had to, and thats to choose between one of the sons. She says that she wont change, or grieve, and that she shall win at every cost, and shall attain, what destiny has denied, but now destiny shall have to lose.

Scene 2:

Location: Hospital

Azad lies on the bed, while the monitors flatline, indicating that he is nomore. the doctors say that azad’s heart shall be given to armaan and that they should start with the heart transplant. They perform the operation. mahira outside feels heavily restless, wopndering why is she having this sinking feeling, that azad is being wronged. fianlly the operation is over, and the doctor comes out, while mahira frantically rushes to him, asking if azad is okay. the doctor doesnt say anything. Mahira is boggled, as azad is drawn out on a stretcher from the ward, with begum behind him, totally aghast and apalled. she eyes him and asks him to wake up,

distraught at seeing him like this. She asks the doctor when shall he be conscious as she rubs his hand, while the doctor apologises to her. mahira is stunned while begum watches apalled. mahira lays back azad’s hand and it falls limp beside the bed. she is too dumbstruck to realise that he is actually dead, as her life with azad flashes before her eyes. just then, from the opposite end, she also eyes armaan being pulled out from the other ward, unconscious still, by the ward boys as finally both the stretchers lie parallel to each other, carrying both of begum’s sons. The ward boys take armaan away. begum thinks that now her first son shall give her what she needs, and he has to live on for his mother’s sake.

AFTER A MONTH:

Scene 3:

Location: Graveyard

mahira is in tears beside azad’s grave, as she holds a rose against the grave. She begs for apology as she is responsible for his death as she was insistent on coverting him to human, and made him wear the taveez. She says that she thought the blue moon would set everything straight but she had forgotten that humans are weak and he couldnt either be a full vampire nor a true human and begs for an apology again. she continuously tries to light a candle beside the grave, but the matchstick keep dousing off, instead of lighting the candle. she wonders that there is no wind. she wonders if this means azad hasnt forgiven him still. A peer baba comes and tells her that she is trying in vain. She asks why he said so. He says that candles alight only when the spirit is in heaven. He says that only the body remains, as the spirit is still alive, as the life ends when the heart stops beating, and azad’s heart is still beating.

she doesnt understand, but he says that she needs to know this, as the heart is alive, who is calling out to her, and asks her to listen to his heartbeat. She says that she understood what she means, as she had promised that azad’s heart would always beat for her. he says that the heart isnt in this body, as before burying, the heart was taken away from the body, as the heart is the same and the heartbeat too, but the body is different, and asks her to listen to it as its beating nearby calling out to her. He leaves, but his voice resonates in her mind. she keeps eyeing the grave boggled and confused. Just then, behind her, armaan passes by in his car, behind her. Armaan talks to his grandmother, that he is absplutely fine, as heart transplant is an easy thing these days and asks her not to overstress herself. He says that he remembers that he has to go for the haveli. he then cancels the call.

Scene 4:

Location: Begum’s residence

In the house, begum gets the whole haveli cleaned as she doesnt want the new owner to be disappointed at all that this is a deal in loss. She asks the servants to go up and clean too. they comply. she is about to turn, when mahira walks in and calls to her. she is surprised to find mahirs coming at her frantically. begum asks her whats the matter. mahira tells begum that the doctors took azad’s heart too. begum is shocked that she knows it and asks what she means. mahira tells everything that the peer baba told her. begum asks how can she trust a stranger. mahira says that even her own heart trusts her, and maybe something is wrong.

begum tells her that azad hs gone for a month now, and they are in shock at his tragic demise, but that doesnt mean that they are unnecessarily brooding over it, and that that have moved on with much difficulty, and she says that she has to go on. mahira says that azad is her destination, not her life partner. begum says that she too grieves equally that azad is dead, but wont bring him back. mahira says that for her satisfaction, she shall atleast find out what or who exactly caused his death. she says that she shall find his murderers and wherever they are, she shall get them punished and noone shall stop her. she walks out, while begum keeps calling out to her, in vain. begum wonders what she shall answer if mahira finds the truth.

Scene 5:

Location: Hospital

Mahira creates a commotion in the corridor of the hospital, wherein she fights with the nurse to allow her to meet the doctor, while they ask her to wait outside,. she says that its utterly important and urgent. The doctor comes and asks whats this drama. she says that drama will be when she shall file a case for misconduct.

he asks her to clarify. she says that he took her husband’s life. the doctors are accused by mahira, who reprimands them for stealing her husband, Azad’s heart and causing his death. he asks her not to accuse them like this, as they have protocols and they do exactly right things and that even for a small operation, they take the consent of the family. she says that when they dont do a big operation without the consent of the family, then why they did it, without asking his own wife. the doctor says that they have to check the records. The nurse gets the files. mahira surfs through the files, and finds khan begum as the witness and is shocked. mahira is shocked as begum comes from behind and says that she gave the permission for operation. Mahira is shocked and shattered. She comes to her, while begum herself is apalled. the screen freezes on her face.

Mahira tells her that she has no clue how many more colours she has to see of hers. she says that she did all sacrifices for her, then how could she do this to her after all of their deals. begum asks her to calm down. She asks why did she kill her own son, as she had always heard, that a mother can do anything, but not take her child’s life. begum says that ahil wanted this. mahira asks if he wanted to die, then why did he want to turn human so that he could live on with her for eternity. begum is apalled. she narrates his last words to mahira, who is shocked. She asks why didnt she tell her, as she could have spent those dying minutes with him, as she was his wife. begum asks if she would have been able to take the decision, had she seen azad like that. mahira asks if she is right,

and thinks that she did right. begum tells her he wanted to do this desperately, for her and her happiness only. She says that when he became a human like this, by sacrificing his life. mahira is apalled. begum tells that she too lost her son and grieves and asks her to believe that whatever azad did is right, as wherever he is, he smiles on them. mahira asks who got azad’s heart. begum is stunned. the doctor says that they cant divulge this info, as there’s protocol. she continues to argue, bue begum asks her to be calm, as those are fortunate who give someone life with their death and wherever azad is through his heart, that person must be happy and asks her to calm down now. mahira hugs begum and she caresses her and then asks her to come home. begum takes mahira and then they proceed to leave.

Armaan comes in just then, saying that he has an appointment with the doctor. the receptionist tells him the way to the doctor’s cabin saying that he shall meet him now. he goes out towards it, oblivious that in his way, begum is coming with mahira from the opposite end. their paths meet but their eyes dont, as they walk past each other. afetr that, mahira suddenly hears the heartbeat of azad and stops instinctively and turns around. begum is boggled and asks whats the matter. mahira tells her that she needs some answers, and she shall take them and then come home. she asks begum to go. begum leaves, while mahira turns and walks. Mahira finds the record room, and thinks that the details about the heart transplant must be here too. She goes in and finds many files, wondering where to start from. She starts looking for files with the name A, and finally finds Azaad’s file. hearing a sudden knock just then, she keeps the file back and hides. the nurse comes and records and files some stuff, while mahirs watches from hiding.

The doctor assures armaan that all is fine, and then asks the wardboy to get the file for armaan. he goes to the record room, and then asks the nurse to give the file. Mahira hears that the same file is being called for. She gives out armaan’s file to the wardboy, and he sees it. then he leaves with it. Mahira is tensed. The doctor see the file and reports and finds that everything is normal, and asks armaan to go home comfortably. Meanwhile, mahira rushes out ofthe room, while the nurse is surprised to see her. The nurse rushes after her, but mahira continues to run and then hides under the stretcher to avoid being caught. she hopes that the nurse doesnt see her.

Outside, the doctor comes out with armaan, and tells him that the donor’s wife came and asked about the recipient but he refused since they dont divulge such info. through the drapes, she barely manages to see the shoes. The doctor also adds that he wont tell him too who is the donor. Armaan walks past and she only manages to see the shoes.

After the nurse is gone, mahira comes out and rushes after armnaa, but loses him in the corridor. she rushes for him, till the outside, where Armaan passes by her, in the car. Mahira runs after the car to stop, but in vain. she stands dejected.

Scene 2:

Location: Begum’s residence

In the haveli, mahira tells begum that she couldnt see his face, and begum is relieved. mahira says that she wont lose hope, as she has the number of his car and would track him down. begum asks her to forget and move on, but mahira says that she cant do it, and would pursue it. begum asks her to take it out of her mind, but mahria says that she needs to go and find out. She however accidentally stumbles and falls in just then. She notices a man coming in and recognises the same shoes that she had seen in the hospital. She is shocked, as she looks up. mahira sees armaan and tells begum that this is the man who carries azad’s heart. She is shocked herself as she remembers their last encounter. begum however is too shocked and stunned to respond. She tells armaan that he is a person who get all the worse and evil in the world, and that her blue moon ritual couldnt complete due to him, and then took her husband’s heart too,

as azad would be rolling in his grave to find that he donated the heart to this person. begum asks her to stop, while she continues that she wont as this man is guilty to azad, her and begum herself too. Armaan says that he isnt in the habit to listen to nonsense. Mahira says that she isnt talking nonsense and repeats that the accident wouldnt have happened, and now he snatched away everything from them, and they dont want any compensation from him in return. she is disgusted and pushes armaan away, asking him to get out of the house straightaway. Armaan tells her to beware, as he wrenches her hands and twists her around, as where she is speaking like this right now, is his house. she is shocked, as he asks who is she to get him out of the house,

and if she has a problem, she can surely leave. An anbgry yet intimate confrontation follows. mahira is shocked to know that the house belongs to him. mahira asks begum how can she do this, as this isnt just a cement and brick structure, and she is getting rid of the memories of azad too. begum says that it sounds better than it actually is, as they are terribly udner debt, and he has paid a handsome price for it. mahira asks if she is drowned so much that she doesnt care for her son’s memories. She says that this is the person who took azad’s heart. she says that she tampered with azad but she wont let her tamper with his memories. begum asks her to calm down and let go of time, and move on in her life. she says that she has to live in the present and live on.

Armaan interrupts. he clarifies that first of all, he didnt take azad’s life, and hence she should stop this nonsense of a murderer, and secondly the deal for this house is done and there’s nothing that can be done now and he doesnt like this kind of drama in the house and hence they both need to get out. begum and mahira are shocked. Mahira asks him to go ahead and do whatever he wishes to, but she shall not move out. he says that he doesnt have time for nonsense, and asks if she shall go herself, or should he call the police. She is adamant and asks him to do whatever he wishes. he then calls for the police, but before that, begum holds his hand and then retreats when he looks at her. She tells him that she needs to speak to him in private. he is tensed so she pleads. he complies. they both leave. mahira stands tensed.

Inside, begum asks him to try and understand the plight and incredible sorrow that she is going through due to the loss of her husband and asks him to be patient with her. He says that its noone of his business, as his deal is a business one, and not a personal one. she says that she is just asking for sometime, after which they shall leave themselves. When she addresses him as a son, she remembers everything right from their first meeting. the screen freezes on their faces.

Armaan eyes her angrily. He says that he has seen people making a joke of relations, and asks her to never again address him as son. he asks her to pack her stuff and be out of his hair, by the evening, with her egoist bahu. she pleads but he doesnt listen. Mahira comes and says that he cant throw them out, as legally he doesnt have registration to this house, and that shall take seven days, for which all offices are closed owing to diwali holidays. he says that he shall wait for seven days, after which he shall have them thrown out. they eye each other angrily. he leaves. mahira tells begum that she took a very wrong decision and she shall not let this house go at any cost, and particularly not to him. She storms out. begum thinks that hatred soon blossoms into love, as she too wants that none of them leaves the house, and start a new life together, so that her life’s motive is fulfilled.

In the garden, Armaan meanwhile talks to his mother, and says that he just took the haveli, but wanst driven by any motive. She teases him about the motive being his alliance to a girl. but he says that love isnt for him, and he isnt cut out for it. She says that she he shall fall in love and not even know it. he asks her to come home soon. She says that she misses him and shall come soon. He cancels the call.

Meanwhile, Mahira finds stuff being taken out of the house, and finds azad’s pic in one of them, and hollers at the servants for doing so without anyone’s permission. she is told that armaan ordered that. She finds that armaan is shifting into azad’s room. Mahira enters azad’s room and then orders the servants not to keep armaan’s stuff in this room and asks them to take it away. she is hersaelf about to take it out, when she finds armaan confronting her. He wrangles her by the hand, while she asks him to stop holding her hand. he asks her to stop interfering and he shall stop holding her hand. she says that he cant stay here, and he says that she shall not stay in the house, and that for a week, she should only stay as a guest. He tells her that god made her beautiful, but dumb, or else she wouldnt have crossed his path. She asks him to let go of her hand. he throws her out of the room, and asks her to get lost.

Begum sees this from a distance. afreen comes beside her, and laments evilly, that her plight is always miserable as she fails in all attempts, as they have become enemies, from the first meeting, and that they are hating each other, and she shall take full advantage of it. Begum stands tensed, while afreen says that her loss means afreen’s victory, as the minute mahira goes away, she shall sneak in armaan’s heart. begum asks her to stay away from him and the house. She reminds that begum only got her back in, and noone shall even know of it, and shall stay here and captivate armaan, as he is that intelligent, to choose her over an egoist widow. She leaves. begum is tensed. She thinks that hatred cant win over love, and maybe they are enemies today, but they shall meet, as armaan has azad’s heart which shall call her out soon.

Meanwhile, Mahira tells him that just because he is living here that doesnt mean she shall let him live and keep his stuff anywhere. he says that he doesnt need anyone’s permission to choose where he wants to keep what of his stuff, in his own house. He says that within some time of seven days, he shall have her thrown out of the house. mahira says that time will tell who throws whom out. he slams the door shut on her face, and she turns around, but feels a pull behind. meanwhile armaan too finds that her dupatta is stuck to his handcuff, through the door. Both are boggled and tensed, on the opposite ends of the closed doors.

she remembers hearing to azad’s heart beating and getting relief out of it, and her moments with azad, and gets emotional and teary eyed, and the irony of the situation now. She turns around and tugs at the dupatta and he too wrenches it free right then, and throws it callously outside. She tells him that he may have taken azad’s heart but she wont let him have his room too. he shuts her up. he is furious that noone has talked to him like this, and that he shall not stand her for even seven days. She says that she shall not let him stay in that room and this houswe too, as azad even gave his heart to him, while she only got memories, and noone can take it from her.

The next morning, armaan talks to his employees, about converting this haveli into the world’s best indian heritage hotel. the employee asks that he had planned to stay here. He asks him to stick to his business, or else shut up. She is shocked to hear this idea, and says that azad’s heart is beating in the wrong chest and that she shall not let him do this to the haveli and shall ruin armaan’s plans. As the meeting and presentation is going on, armaan declares the press about his decision for a heritage hotel in this haveli, and talks about it. he refuses to divulge much info about his personal life, talking only fondly about his granny, the one person he loves the most. Afreen and mahira hear intently, from hiding. He dedicates everything to his granny.

the reporters question him about his troubled childhood. he is traumatised by its memories and steers from personal questions. But they keep prodding him into those areas. He is stern and asks them to ask professional questions. He then signals the employee to start with the presentation, as armaan talks about the project detailing about the features of the hotel. but the presentation is that of villages and kachcha houses, completely unrelated to armaan’s description. mahira is amused. the reporters get angry and taunt him for having wasted their time. people start questioning, and then leave. armaan is furious at the debacle of the presentation and is boggled too, completely frustrated. he then eyes mahira in hiding, and understand that she was behind this, and gets into a rage. afreen watches tensedly, as he comes to mahira, and then asks how dare she do this. she says that this is merely a trailor, as if he tries to do anything wrong, she shall show her full strength. They confront each other. She leaves.

Outside, armaan gets a bulldozer to mow down the house. begum sees this and is shocked. she rushes to him and asks why. he asks her to go and ask mahira. inside, mahira is sad and lost in azad’s thoughts, when begum comes and asks her what has she done, that armaan got a bulldozer to mow down the house. mahira is shocked to hear this. she says that in this house, her love for azad resides. she goes out to teach him a lesson. begum then asks her to calm down, saying that hatred wont solve anything, instead she should try and make him understand. She asks her to lower down if she has to save this house.

mahira tells her that she doesnt need to, as she knows she is doing the right thing. begum says that this house isnt as strong as her, and that she knows he is wrong, but right now, their focus should be to save the house. she makes her swear on the lord. mahira says that she has left it all on the lord only. she comes out and while armaan watches, she moves past him, and then sits down in front of the bulldozer, while the people and afreen are shocked. they all ask her to move. but she doesnt. she prays that those who help themselves and are firm willed, are also helped by the lord. she says that her memories are in danger and begs for it to be saved. the people are shocked and scream at her to move but she continues praying. the screen freezes on armaan, mahira’s faces and the bulldozer.
