Mehek - S01 E01

Read Story: Mahek On ZeeOne, Saturday 16th April 2022 Update

We start the episode with PD says to Chachi Mansi that Balwant is not feeling well, serve him breakfast, Balwant asks her to make tea. Mansi goes to make tea and says what did Mahek put in tea? She makes it and brings it, Balwant says today its taste is not good, did you miss something to put in it? chachi goes to make it again. Mahek tastes it and says there is no salt in it, everything else is fine, Mansi says i tried to make like yours but you are magician, Mahek says spices are stubborn, they just need to in definite limit. Mansi brings tea for Balwant, he likes it and his gastric problem is solved as he farts, everyone laughs. Balwant says it was great, Mansi stealthily gives thumbs up to Mahek.

Chacha is working in saree shop, he is wearing saree and showing to buyer. Mohit and Chachi comes there. Mohit says why he doesnt keep salesman, he himself wear sarees to sell. Mohit sees girl in shop, girl says hi Mohit, Chacha asks if he knows her? girl says we go to same institute, Chacha says great, he is my son, he will show you sarees, i am going with wife, Mohit is embarrassed and asks him to leave.

Mahek gets message from her friend Sonal and says to Mansi that she is calling me to her house, but work here? Mansi says i will handle it, Mahek says i will take halwa for her mom, Mansi sees her sad and says dont feel bad about grand father Balwant’s words, he is stressed, Mahek says no, i understand, he holds me responsible for mother and father’s demise, i wish i had gone from here after getting married, i just bad for Chacha and Kanta Chachi.

Chacha and Kanta chachi are going to Pammi’s house, Kanta says i feel Mahek’s make up was not upto mark, these parlour people always spoil it, Chacha asks if parlour people did her make up at their wedding?

Mahek says to Mansi that because of me, Kanta has to request Pammi. Mansi says i dont like that ajay, he is mama’s boy, i feel like she takes care of his underwear too, Mahek laughs.

Pammi is giving Ajay’s underwear to servant and asks him to wash nicely. servant curses that she is witch and leaves. Kanta and Chacha comes there. Pammi says why did you come now? you had to leave your shop, Kanta says no, Mohit will handle it. They all come inside and meet Surindar. Chacha sees photos of Surindar with celebrities on wall, Surindar says everyone looks at this wall, Kanta says your standard is shown by these pictures with celebrities, Surindar says i dont bring Tiger Shroff to home, what if he likes Pammi then i would remain alone being old. Kanta says i will talk less. Ajay comes there and greets them. Chacha says Mahek is very nice girl, she will adjust here. Kanta says Mahek is orphan but she is loving girl, she will bind your house together, Ajay is hinting no to Pammi from behind, Kanta says we were worried when you people left our house yesterday without answering, Ajay interrupts and asks Pammi to give him tea, she asks him to ask servant.

Mahek comes to sonal’s house. She greets her mother, her mother’s face is covered with facepack, she smells Mahek’s halwa and takes it from her. her mother says your weight will increase if you make such good food, i told you a lot of times to take care of yourself, you should know how to seduce guys, girls should let their weight increase after wedding only, Sonal says you are eating her halwa and wont be able to wear sarees from now on, her mother says i was Miss Patiala, you know. Sonal says i know.

Ajay says to Pammi what they are doing here? they keep bragging that she cooks good food so should i marry her? Pammi says i am your mother, i will do everything for your happiness, she asks servant to bring tea in small cups so they leave fast.

Mahek checks herself in mirror and says aunty was right, i am getting fat. Sonal says nothing to worry, she asks why guy rejected you yesterday? Mahek says he said i am not ambitious, Sonal says i taught you to flirt with him, hold his hand, Mahek says are you mad? Sonal says all guys are non-veg, they like chubby girls, you couldnt get rejected, dont know what you did. Sonal says i got friend request from Chandan, Mahek sees his photo with no shirt on, Sonal says he is coming with proposal for me, Mahek says he seems open, why he is not wearing shirt? Sonal says i like bold and blunt, who wants mama’s boy? Mahek laughs.

Kanta says to Pammi that we were thinking about Mahek and Ajay’s proposal. Chacha says i am trying to get job for Mahek, Ajay’s problem will be solved then, think ahead now, Ajay points no to his mother, she nods, Kanta feels someone behind her.

Scene 2

People from old age comes and asks Mansi if this is Balwant’s house? she says yes. She asks who called them? they say PD. Mansi says what? she wants to go to ashram? She comes inside and tells this to Balwant, she asks Nehal to call Chacha.

Pammi says to Kanta that we have long list of proposals for Ajay but Surindar wants girl to from known circle, Kanta says i agree. Ajay is irritated that they are not leaving.

Mahek comes home and says to old age home people that you are at wrong house, we didnt call you. people tell them address of their house and says we have consignment from here, they ask Balwant his name, he tells them, he says you have to come with us, we will play together at old age home. Balwant holds wooden stick and ask people from old age home to leave, he says i am very violent person, he ask them to leave.

Pammi says to Kanta that i brought 10tola Gold when i got married, now boys want girls who can work alongside him and they can spend money together. Kanta says you are right, Chacha and Kanta gets call from family.

Old age home people say we got call from someone here who asked us to take problematic oldie Balwant from here, Balwant says i am not problematic and i am not old, i can beat you both, he asks who called them here? PD comes and says i called them here. Balwant is shocked, she ask them to take him away, old age home people start dragging him out of house, all are tensed.

Kanta says to Pammi that Mahek’s father left 7lacs for her, we will do everything in our power, we will add money to that for her marriage. They both get call from Nehal and Mohit, they tell them that PD is sending Balwant to old age home, they are shocked, Pammi asks what happened? Kanta says Balwant is ill, we have to go, they leave, Ajay happily dances.

Balwant sits on floor and says i will not go anywhere, old age people grab him and starts dragging him out of house. Sonal and her mother sees this from their terrace and laughs. Mahek says how can you forcefully drag him? Kanta and Chacha comes there and ask old age people to leave, Kanta asks who called you here? he says PD, PD says this is my house and he has no place here as he is mad, Kanta says dont do this drama today please, PD leaves. Chacha ask them to leave and ask neighbors to leave. Chachu comes and asks everything fine? Balwant says leave it.

Mahek brings tea for everyone, Chachu checks Balwant’s BP and says its high, Balwant says PD didnt leave any chance to throw me out, PD says instead of your bickering, its better to throw you out, Chacha says how can you throw our father out? PD says he is my son too but you people become dumb when he insults someone(Mahek), he should be punished, Balwant says i know who is filling your ears against me, he stares Mahek, Pd says talk to me, dont threaten her, its been 8years since that accident and you keep blaming her, you dont talk to her nicely, she made sweetdish for you with so much love but you threw it out of house, you didnt lose your son only, i lost my grand son too, Balwant says you can forget but i cant,

PD says when you go on walk next time, i will make sure that you get kidnapped, Balwant says see, nobody is stopping her, Kanta says enough, i went to beg Pammi for Mahek’s proposal but here oldies are fighting, i was there to talk about wedding but you people have dug well for me to die in it, what neighbors must be thinking? she leaves. chacha says now you people are happy? Balwant says shut up, Mahek looks at PD with disappointment.

PD comes to Mahek, Mahek says i am miffed with you, Pd says i did everything for you, he is my son but you are my life, i wont allow anyone to play with it, its been 8years, i wont allow him to hurt you more, Mahek says its my and his problem, you cant put damper on everyone’s mood, Pd says make good parathas for everyone, all will become happy, makes lemonade for me, Mahek says its for one who needs it most.

Kanta murmurs that Mahek and her PD are my only problem. Mahek comes there with lemonade, Kanta asks whats this for? Mahek says i am your problem not this lemonade, its for your temper, Kanta says my temper? did i make you wash clothes, sweep floor in childhood? did i keep you hungry? Mahek smiles and makes her sit, she sits on knees infront of her and says you know my friends use to talk about family in school, someone would say that their mothers beat them then i used to tell them my Kanta Chacha doesnt beat me but keep bickering whole day.. you know like God is there for human, mother is there for baby, even their scolding is out of love and you know for me my mother is only you Chachi, Kanta smiles and caresses her face, she says you have habit of your mother, you cant let anyone stay angry with you for much time, Mahek says drink lemonade and ajay.. Ramesh.. anyone you like, i will marry that person only, she smirks and leaves. Kanta drinks lemonade and calms down.

All family members are sitting in lounge. Mohit says to Nehal lets do commentary of situation. Nehal asks so what you think about match? Mohit says anything can happen, rivalry is old, weather is hot. Mahek brings pakoras there. Chacha asks if Kanta ate anything? she only drank tea, Chachu says she get angry and must have headache too. Chacha says what if inbetween fights of PD and Balwant, Kanta stops seeing proposals for Mahek. Kanta comes there and says i am her Chachi, not step mother, i never left any work without completing, she asks Mohit, Nehal and Mahek to leave, elders have to talk, they leave.

Scene 2

Kanta says to family that Pammi gave hint, they are hoping. PD says Pammi is pregnant? Kanta says i mean she is giving hope for wedding, Mansi says means they want dowry? she nods, Chacha says if we want this proposal then we have to give money for wedding, Chachu says people who are thinking about money more than girl then they are not fine. Kanta says they live in neighborhood, we can go to their house anytime, Chacha says we should remain ready for wedding splurge, we have 8lacs whih Mahek’s father left. Lets make list of things we need to buy. Chacha starts writing, Kanta says Tv.. Ac.. car, he says which Tv? plasma? bacteria? there are so many, she says i dont know.

Mohit asks Mahek to eat snacks, she says i am already getting fat, he says eat, she eats, he asks what she is thinking? Mahek says Ajay is interested in me? he already rejected me? Nehal says you both are mismatch, he is MBA, lives in bungalow, Mohit says you have done PhD on Ajay? i forgot you didnt even go to college, you got fake 12th standard certificate, Nehal says i dont want to waste my age in college, i will become fashion designer and will walk with six pack abs guys and i feel Kanta should lose hope with Ajay’s proposal, she asks Mahek to bring more snacks, Mahek says elders are talking there, Nehal says please.

PD says its wedding or you are making house? Kanta says Pammi told me clearly that if we want wedding then we have to splurge money, PD says we can reject guy, Chacha says i can manage 2..3lacs. Kanta says its daughter’s wedding, all have to contribute, PD says this is not some business, i wont give any penny, Kanta says dowry decides how much respect girl will get in inlaws house, Chachu says to Chacha that your business is working fine, you can give money but i cant. Balwant says we dont have to fight, when wedding is in fate then it will happen.

Chachu says i didnt even like Ajay, Chacha says so Mahek is not some queen too, Chachu says what you mean? Chacha says i didnt mean it, Pd says he is not good guy, he is not comparable to Mahek. Mansi says why should we give dowry? People talk about physically impaired people’s wedding without dowry too then why we have to give dowry? Kanta says how will you arrange girl’s marriage without dowry? Mahek listens all this and feels bad,, Kanta says you people have gone mad, dowry is important.

Scene 3

Its night time. Mahek is standing on balcony, she recalls family’s words, how they fought for money. her laptop blinks. she checks that Karela kind has messaged her. She messages him “hello how are you?”, he writes “stressed about work”, Mahek writes ” i know that you are foodie like me”, he writes “how have you been?”, Mahek says he seems decent guy, she writes ” day was fine”, he writes ” you dont seem fine”. She writes ” it was bad day, very bad”, he writes “it has gone from fine to bad? what mid life crisis?”, she writes ” family issues?’, he writes “from when you start taking tension because of family? stopped drinking?”, Mahek writes “i dont drink, my family is worried about my wedding”,

he writes ” wedding is problem, wedding is perfect dish, if one spice is missing then whole life can be destroyed”, she smiles, he writes ” you didnt tell me earlier that family is finding boy for you, when you start taking interest in arrange marriage?”, Mahek writes ” everyone goes for arrange marriage in my family, they liked one boy for me too”. Mahek writes ” i dont know you but i feel like i know you somehow”. Guy is shocked and unfriends her, she is shocked.

Mahek says he unfriended me, he is weirs, she messages him again saying hi, are you there? Guy replies ” i dont talk to strangers, stop stalking me”, Mahek writes “you sent me friend request, not me”, he writes “i did mistake so get off my back, leave me, i didnt sleep for three night”. Mahek says i am not running behind him, let him rot, his name is right, Karela king. Mahek comes out of room. Chachu goes out of house stealthily at middle of night. Mahek feels someone going out but doesnt see Chachu. Chachu meets one man outside house and asks if he brought papers? Man shows him papers and asks him to sign papers, Chachu signs it and asks when work will be done? Man says today morning, congratulation to you, Chachu asks him to leave.

Its morning, Mahek is cooking in kitchen and says how much attitude that guy has? telling me to get off his back like i am sack of flour, and he cant breath because of me. She tastes her halwa says Mahek Sharma you are great cook. She sees Haldi and gets idea.

Mahek opens laptop. she posts picture of Haldi dhoodh(turmeric milk). Karela king sees it and reads caption which says that this is solution to get good sleep, it will make your mind relax. He thinks about it.

Mahek is mixing spices in dish, PD says what magic you have, you are making me remember my childhood, you know my mother used to make these kind of parathas and i used to eat prickle with it, God should keep magic in your hands. Mahek says you are most important to me, you know i have to go, its Sonal’s roka today, PD says i sympathize with the guy, Mahek says shh.. Sonal is good girl, Pd says she is like bullet of gun, Kanta comes and says we need to make prickle mahek. Pd asks Mahek to not tell her about Sonal, her mother has animosity with Kanta. Kanta gives money to Mahek and asks her to give it to Sonal, dont stay there till late, its just because they are neighbors, dont stay longer, Mahek nods.

Mahek comes to Sonal’s house, she gives money envelope to her and says Kanta Chachi sent it, she asks why she didnt come? i made special refreshment for her, Mahek smiles and goes to Sonal. sonal’s mother says to one guest that Kanta challenged me that she will make Mahek marry before Sonal and now she is hiding her face in her house, she must be irritated thinking about my Sonal.

Mahek comes to Sonal’s room and sees her dressed nicely, sonal asks if she is not looking amazing? Mahek says wow but there is time for wedding, this is just Roka, Sonal says Roka means Rok(stop), i will become babe infront of her that he will stop looking at other girls. They listen groom’s family coming. They see groom in house, sonal says he is hot, when you become friends with him then i will show you his six pack abs, Mahek says eww, you are crazy. Sonal says why they brought all relatives. Groom’s father says to Sonal’s father that i am sorry, we told relative its Vicky’s(Groom) roka so they all came. Father asks him to not worry and relax, he leaves. Sonal’s mother asks father why he is tensed? he says i will do arrangements. Sonal says to Mahek that we made food for 15people, what we will do now? its my Roka.

Sonal’s mother says to father that i told you to make food for more people. Father says i didnt know that they will bring so many people. Sonal and Mahek comes there, mother asks Sonal to not take tension and go to her room, Mahek asks her to go. Sonal’s brother Sonu comes there and asks what this witch’s roka is not happening? Father gives credit card to Sonu and asks him to bring food from restaurant, Sonu says i will take commission, Father scolds him.

Scene 2

Father calls Sonu and asks where is he? Sonu is still on road and says i am still stuck in traffic. Sonal looks at vicky and passes flying kiss, he is stunned. Sonal’s mother asks father if he bought food? father says he is stuck in traffic, handle guests, she nods, Mahek have listened all this.

Mahek comes in kitchen and looks around to find something to cook. She thinks about it.

Sonu calls father and says there are so many people in line, it will take time to bring food, he ends call. vicky’s father comes to Sonal’s father and says guests are hungry, can you arrange for lunch? father says just give me time, he nods and leaves. Father says we should bring refreshment, she says it must Kanta’s evil eye that must have done it. Mahek comes and asks can she help? mother says are you superman to bring food? Mahek says i can try to cook, mother says this is not about making pizza, Mahek says let me try for Sonal, father says go and do anything in kitchen.

Mahek comes in kitchen, mother says this is stale food, Mahek says i will mix it with fresh food, so it will be sufficient for all. Mahek tells her that she is making pumpkin’s dish, mother is stunned and starts helping her in cooking, Mahek says i will make kheer of peas, mother says what? peas are less too, Mahek says i will put wrapping of peas in it too, she asks if she is sure? Mahek says yes, you just go and see guests, mother nods helplessly and prays to God, she leaves.

Mother says to Sonal’s father that dont know if she can cook nice or not, father says i even asked Sonu to not bring food, let her do what she is doing.

Mahek is cooking kheer, she recalls how her mother told her that peas wrapper are not trash, they can be put in use too, God has made everything to be used by us and the one who is able to make use of everything in kitchen is queen.

Sonal and Vicky exchange rings, all clap for them.

Mahek is working in kitchen, she makes kebabs. She tastes kheer and says its exact same taste.

food is served to guests, Sonal’s parents are tensed. Mahek smiles at food. Guests starts eating food. vicky’s father eats it and asks Sonal’s father Ashok from where did order this food? this is delicious, vicky’s mother agrees, Mahek smiles that all are enjoying her food, Sonal makes vicky eat it, he likes food. Ashok calls Mahek and says she will tell how she cooked it, he introduces that she is Sonal’s best friend, Sonal’s mother says Sonal and she cooked it together, Sonal gave idea of these kebabs.

Sonal always liked cooking, vicky asks Sonal if she cooked it? sonal sadly looks at Mahek, one guest asks Sonal how she cooked it? Ashok says Mahek cooked it, tell them Mahek, Mahek says these kebabs are of pumpkins, all guests start asking Mehak questions, how she cooked it, Mahek gets anxious.
