“Where’s that useless ayo of a girl!!how dare she accused me” ebuka’s voice could be heard outside as he stomps his buffalo feet inside the kitchen

I was so unmoved by his actions that I really concentrated on my grinding,he kicked my grinding stone and the pepper away while shouting

“Are you mad?!!what did you tell the elders” I wasn’t prepared for this but he really pushed me,I rubbed my hand on the pepper mixed with the sand and gave him a resetting slap on both cheeks

“You are mad for pouring my pepper away…if you aren’t the one that poison the the food,why are you bothered?why are you scared? You didn’t poison the food,fine! Wait till the elders arrive and explain yourself” he raised his hands to hit me but emeka barged in and pushed him away from my sight

“I will tolerate anything but you dare not lay your hands on my fiancee,I don’t care if you’re my elder brother or not….I will beat you to stupor”

“You ingrate,so you will let a woman come in between your family…what sort of man are you??”

“Im a man of truth and i stand for what’s right and rebuke what’s wrong and whatever you and mama did will soon be brought to light…you both will have to explain why you planned to poison me,oh!

You think I don’t know,you people actually thought she was preparing the food for me and went over to poison the food,kudos to all of you” emeka clapped and i stood there in shock

He dragged my hands and took me inside

“Dress up to something nice,the meeting has already started”he sounded really hurt and wounded

“Is papa okay?”i ask

“Yes ,he’s back and he’s with he elders”he said and i heave a sigh if relief

I want to talk to him so bad,I want to ask him how he got to know about the poison stuff but I shove it at the back of my mind…I will ask him when all this is over

I removed the polo and baggy shorts I was wearing into an armless long gown,I opened the door but was stunned to see Chiamanda. She almost fell down cause the position I caught her was so funny…so she was eaves dropping,I smiled sweetly at her and told her to come inside ,she resisted and wanted to go back but I dragged her inside with force

“Emy…you can go,I want to have a tete a tete discussion with Chi,we won’t take up to 15 minutes” i tell him and just went out without saying a word

” Who sent you!! And why were you eavesdropping?” I asked her and she stammered

I have her a thunder slap that sent her crashing to the ground

She screamed screamed in terror,crying and pleading

“Wó tin gba fó óju è(look if I break your eyes) you will get madder than the mad people on the streets

“Pepper oo!!my eyes oo,chimoo…hei..don’t be angry NNE pls water Biko oo”

“Biko kó,becombion ní…if you don’t start talking,the way I’ll beat you ehn,you will be the first person to enter hell fire with wheel chair”

“Biko it’s mama oo,she was the master planner of everything to poison emeka but she didn’t know that the food was for papa….she was trying to set you up ooo”she kept rubbing her eyes crying

“Ah!!! Óri é ti bajè,and you even had the mind to hit me with me with a plank…Chi Fanta,you’re dead

“That’s all ok,I just wanted to hear what you people are saying”she said and i kicked her out ofy room to join the meeting,I will deal with her later

The meeting was already hot as I saw ebuka kneeling and pleading for forgiveness,the poison was presented before him and he could no longer deny it

He was given a heavy fine to pay and he was to spend 6months in their community prison for attempted murder

He was given this light punishment because his father is one of the prominent elder of that community,so they couldn’t kill him

Mama was the main culprit here and she didn’t show any atom of remorse

Everything they did was out of pure jealousy,but I just wanted to know why she would want to poison her a son

So I curiously asked and she shouted

” EMEKA’S NOT MY SON!!! HE’S NOT MY SON!!!!
