Deal With The Devil - S01 E88

Holding the Christmas decorations in my lap as I wheel myself down the hallways, trying to find the perfect place for everything. Sebastian follows behind me but he doesn't a clue what I'm doing. I then stop as I look at Christmas lights and then back at the wall and an idea comes to mind. "Is it possible to hang these lights up down the hallways on either side?" I ask him and he nods his head. After breakfasts since he has been grumpy ever since because of Colt (that is obvious) but I'm not letting that ruin this moment. 4

These hallways are a bit dark and I think these lights are going to help brighten this up a bit. Besides, without lights then Christmas is sort of meaningless because light and happiness and joy is what this is about. He starts to hang them up and when he plugs them in, he hands me the remote. I feel the glee inside me so bright as I push the on bottom and we watch together as the hallway lights up. The smile on my face is just as bright as the lights themselves.

While we decorate the house, putting lights or fake trees somewhere, it sort of gives the illusion that we are the perfect couple when in reality we aren't, but I somehow wish we were. There are things that hang over us and makes sure that neither one of us can be truly happy. The deal that we made, the deal that is going to haunt me for a long time. Before I believed this to be easy but it doesn't work like that because when I started to fall for him, everything became more complicated to me. However, the year is soon ending and when it does, I can tell that I will not like the outcome.

"Do you want to see the tree?" He asks me. I nod my head as I let out a laugh. The tree I've not seen but I could tell that he has been waiting to show me this entire time as it must be something grand. "Where is it?" I ask him as I look up at him, he's wheeling me down a hallway that I've never been to before and I wonder where the tree is. Since, I've not seen this side of the house yet or all of the house. 1

"The ballroom" He answers and my eyes widen. I look at his face to see him amused by the fact that there is a ballroom here, a ballroom that I did not even know was here. My jaw nearly drops open. "How did I not know there was a ballroom?" I ask him. I sort of already had figured out that there were rooms in here that were grand and unlike anything I've ever seen but a ballroom, that's something else. There wasn't even a ballroom at my parent's mansion.

Then again that one is smaller compared to this one and it has nothing on this. Sebastian chuckles as he continues to wheel me. "You didn't ask" He tells me with a smirk on his face and I roll my eyes at him. The amusement in his face is one that I don't see very often but it is a look that I do enjoy. Then as we fall into silence I remember something. "What was the surprise that you wanted to show me before the accident?" I ask him as I can't we remember ever knowing what that was. 4

I don't know why I did not ask sooner but perhaps I was far too busy thinking about other things and then everything happened with Colt and our fake sleeping together and perhaps I got a little sidetracked. Sebastian stops right in his tracks and looks down at me and I look up at him. All amusement is gone from his eyes and it's hard for me to know what he's feeling right about now nor can I tell what is in his eyes. It's odd as I can almost always tell what lies in his eyes, but not now.

"You don't have to tell me, it's just that we never got to go there, that's all" I tell him. The more I think about it, the more curious I get about it and the more I do want to know what it was. He never told me what the surprise was and what he had planned as he also had another plan in mind. The accident. I notice that he just stares down at me and I wonder what is running through his mind. What he could be thinking and I also wonder what this surprise is that he had planned for me and us.

Sebastian does speak as he suddenly continues to wheel me forwards and I don't think I'm going to get the answer to my question now, even when I really want to know what it was. A small part of me thinks that there was never any surprise, that he just said that so he could take me out of the house to stage the accident. A pang forms in my heart when I think that he never truly had anything planned and that entire time, he only took me there so we would be in that accident that he caused.

Soon we are in front of double doors and he stops and walks over to them and opens the doors for me and when I look inside when he wheels me inside, I feel myself grow happy in awe. This place is even more than I had thought and my eyes do catch sight of the Christmas tree that stands in the middle of the ballroom. My jaw is literally on the floor as I watch this room that we're inside and I can't even believe that this has been here this entire time without me knowing.
