WEDDING DAY…….

Finally, The happiest and most exciting day of my life has arrived, as we Nigerians likw to say, Today na Today.. Well, Today is my day.

Just like any other groom who’s about to be married to the woman of his life, I was excited but I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

For the first time in 6 years, I’ve haven’t felt this nervous like the days I was trying to confess my love to Angelina , The wedding was to commence at 10:00am and I was already dressed and suited up, but I hid myself in the room, just as we were about to leave, it was Salim and kevin who realized that I was missing and came into my room to look for me.

Salim Kai Peter! What are you doing in your room.

Kevin Come make we go.. The wedding is about to start o. Let’s get going.

Peter I’m sorry guys but I don’t think I can go. I’m nervous

Salim WHAT!? See this B-stard o.

Kevin Nervous!? Na woman you be? So you want to disappoint Angel because you’re nervous! Chineke will strike black thunder ? on you if you don’t get your a** up.

Salim Hold on Kevin.. Let’s reason with this sap! Kai Mallam Peter.. You love Angelina don’t you?

Peter Of course I do.

Salim And you don’t want to break her heart, right?

Peter Yes..

Salim Good.. Look, I’ve been in the situation you’re in right now.. Don’t think about anything else, just think about your beautiful foxy bride ?. All you have to do is smile, kiss her and make her feel that you’re the man she’s been waiting for her whole life. Don’t get any more cold feet.. Be a man.

Peter Wow, that’s a very good speech.. Thanks..

Salim You’re welcome.. Alright let’s go Mallam.. We’re wasting time.

Peter How do I look?

Salim Stunning! You look like a million bucks. The suit looks good on you.

Kevin Oya let’s go.. Una too dey talk.

After a boost of confidence from Salim, my nervousness disappeared completely, The three of us left my room and soon left the house, Salim had taken the responsibility of renting a small Limousine for the wedding.

We drove and headed straight to the road driving in small convoys. 15 minutes later, We arrived at the church where the wedding was holding, as soon as the car was parked, I went into the church and took my place on the altar waiting for Angelina’s entrance. Salim who is my best-man stood along me and Kevin giving me thumbs up.

The church was already full, Both family members of Christen and I were already seated waiting for the wedding to begin.

Peter (silently) Psst.. Salim.

Salim (silently) What!?

Peter (silently) Why isn’t Angelina here?

Salim (silently) Relax man.. We just got here.. Let her take her time.

Peter (silently) I’m getting worried!

Salim (silently) Don’t worry, she will come.

In that moment, There was a small blow of trumpet ? and everyone stood up staring at the direction of the door, I adjusted myself and looked at the direction of the door as well.

In an instant, The door slowly opened and Charlene’s kids walked into the church throwing flowers on the ground the walked on, in a blink of an eye, Angelina walked into the church as well with her father, They both walked slowly and majestically down the aisle.

I couldn’t help myself but gasp as I saw Angelina.. No words could describe how lovely she looked, she was more than beautiful. Everyone in the church looked at her as well wowing as they saw her.

The wedding gown she wore was definitely a work of great skill, It had no veil instead it came with a small tiara which was perfectly balanced on Angelina’s head, She didn’t do any fancy makeup, there was nothing artificial about her beauty except the grey contact lenses she inserted on her pupils But even still, it made her look very sexy.

Seconds later, she split ways with her father and joined me on the altar, She stared at me lovingly giving me a wink, I too gave her a wink as well using hand gestures to tell her she was beautiful.

In that moment, Everyone sat down and the Priest began to wedding rites, He made a brief speech and made lots of quotes from the bible about marriages, as soon as he was done, He asked the big terrifying questions.

Priest Peter Wright, Do you take this lovely woman, Angelina Felix to be your wife and do you promise to love and cherish her til the end of your days?

Peter Yes I do.

Priest And as for you Angelina Felix.. Do you take this dashing young man to be your husband and do you promise to love and cherish him til the end of your days?

Angelina Absolutely. I do.

Priest Hmm.. Well, if anyone has any objection why this two shouldn’t be together let them speak now..

Crowd Carry on!

Priest Well, to make this official and eternal.. I pronounce you both as husband and wife.. You may now.. Ahh slow down o… You may now kiss the bride.

Angelina threw herself at me even before the priest could even finish his sentence, I held her tightly as we kissed passionately in front of everyone, we got an ovation and a couple of cheers ?.

After that, We began to take pictures with everyone of our family and friends.. The good part was there wasn’t much crowd to bother ourselves with.

Amidst that commotion, I spotted Bianca and her friend, Dora. They both approached me and Angelina wishes us a happy union.

Peter Bianca! It’s good to see you.

Bianca It’s good to see you too.. Congratulations on the wedding.

Peter Thanks.. You look nice.

Bianca You too,… Your gown looks stunning Angelina.. You’ve turning heads since you showed up.

Angelina Thank you..

Bianca Alright then, we’ll be going now.

Angelina Aren’t you coming to the wedding ceremony?

Blanca No.. I have a plane to catch an hour from now.. I’ll be heading to America for some personal issues.

Angelina Alright.. Have a safe trip then.

Bianca Thanks.. Enjoy your wedding as well.

After that, Bianca and Dora left us both and went out of the church, it’s a shame that they can’t make it later to the wedding ceremony, as soon as they were gone, Angelina and I kept snapping pictures with our relatives.

Hours later, Everyone had converged at the wedding ceremony, Thanks to Francis, He had loaned us some exclusive resort where Nollywood celebrities hang out and chillax.

The event was quite a joyful one cause there was food and music, Angelina dominated the event by dancing seductively to the music that was being played, I’m even surprised how she can dance in this tight gown and a high heel ?. We later both danced together in gentle steps as the M.C played a softer music, I held her tightly in my arms staring at her beautiful eyes, I must admit I’m one lucky guy ? to have Angelina as my wife.

Peter (sighs)

Angelina What’s wrong? ?

Peter I can’t believe this is all happening.

Angelina Well, you better believe it. Husband.

Peter Let’s get out of here. It’s getting to cramped in here.

Angelina Where do you want us to go?

Peter There’s a balcony upstairs.. Let’s go there.

Angelina Okay. Let’s go then.

I grabbed her hand pulling her with me as we both headed to the balcony, as soon as we got there, I closed the door so that we wouldn’t be bothered.

In that moment, The sun was about to go down and the sky looked so beautiful, Angelina and I stayed close to ledge staring at the lovely sun.

Angelina What a lovely sight!

Peter Yes.. It’s not everyday you see something as beautiful as this.

Angelina So what now? We’re now married. Our lives won’t be the same as before.

Peter I know.. Life won’t be the same and we never know what the future holds for us but whatever our future may look like.. We’ll face it together.. Not just as childhood friends, or lovers or married couples.. We’ll face it together as one. I’ll never let you go or leave your side, I’ll stick you to through our journey together.

Angelina Oh Peter.. I love you.

Peter I love you too.

After that, Angelina and I shared a long romantic kiss ? just as the sun finally sunk down into the sky. Our union wasn’t just a future to look forward to, It’s a start for a new life for the both of us.

So that’s it Folks… That’s the story of my love journey with Angelina, It was a little bit rough but we finally made it in the end. It’s been a few years since our marriage but life has been good for the both of us and our love has gotten stronger than ever.

After the wedding, We both traveled to China to spend our honeymoon, China wasn’t the best place for a honeymoon, their food was too much for me to handle but their hotel resorts are magnificent.

After the honeymoon, we came back to Nigeria to start our lives as couples.. Months later, Angelina gave birth to baby boy, whom we named Chris, the next year Angelina and I another child but this time it was a girl, we named her after Angelina’s mother, the next year after that, we had another baby girl naming her after my mom.

As soon as we lined up all three kids, we decided to put a break on making more babies.. Angelina sure dedicated her time in restoring her body to its normal glory.

Marriage life wasn’t easy at all, in fact it was difficult and hard on both me and Angelina, sometimes we even had to quarrel and argue but just as always, We manage to solve our problems and issues.

We also found a way to keep our family together, we made sure we didn’t let our work keep us busy from spending time with each other.

Honestly, We had our parents to thank for showing us the ropes and telling us tips to a lasting marriage and a happy family. Sometimes I would sit down and think how my life would have turned out if they hadn’t relocated here to Abuja, I couldn’t have asked for a better future than this.

Married life isn’t easy but with a little patience, love, understanding, tolerance and prayer, everything would work out just fine. I would you tell you all about my life with Angelina as my wife, but I’m afraid that’s another story for another time. ?
