I Need To Be Loved By You - S01 E02

l had a spare key to Anny’s apartment. On getting there, I didn’t even bother to knock. Unlocking the door, Anny sat quietly at her study table, deep into those sci-fi textbooks she was used to. A lot of textbooks were opened on the table, she was actually reading like she had told me. She stood up and came over to me at the door. She looked perplexed as she noticed l had been breathing uneasily.

She hugged me but l trembled at her hugs. “Come in”, she whispered into my ears. Her voice sent chills down my spine, I swallowed hard as sweats had gathered all over my face. She couldn’t play smart with me. Even though l hadn’t seen her do something evil before, but this, something told me she did it. “Have you heard the news?”, I forced myself to say as I settled on her bed.

“No”, she muttered as she went into the kitchen. Few minutes later, she came out with a cup of coffee in her hand. “Prof Jude is dead. He was beheaded last night”, as said under my breath as l watched her facial expressions. As a lady she was, l expected her to scream or at least show those girly fears but she stood with eyes broad opened and sighed, “Oh My! “.

I didn’t need more proof, she did it. This girl is crazy. She offered the cup of coffee to me as she moved closer to the bed, l knocked the cup off her hand and it went spilling all over the room. Holding her shoulders, ” Anny! Why did you kill him? I didn’t tell you to kill him. All l said last night to you were all out of anger, I didn’t wish him to die. Didn’t you think about his family, wife, children? How could you be so heartless”, I went yelling at the top of my shaky voice.

She stared with no emotions. I couldn’t believe I was dating a monster. She gently removed my hands from her shoulders and gave another sigh. “All l do is for you. And you have no evidence to prove that l killed him”. She turned and faced the wall. I looked at her and for the first time, l knew I had met my doom. “Anny, I’m done with this relationship. I’m going to do you a favor, I won’t tell anyone what you did. I’ll take it as an act out of ignorance.

She laughed hysterically and came hugging me. She looked into my eyes with those eyes of hers that always melted my heart. She kissed my forehead and she behaved as if she was out of her mind. She went for the door of the apartment and locked it. I was already sweating, thoughts of her harming me ran through my mind. She came to where I was again and went whispering into my ears, “I’ll be right back”.

She went into the kitchen, coming out of the kitchen she brought a knife with her , shock gripped me. She placed one of her fingers right across her lips and said, “Shhhhh, I ain’t going to hurt you, Chris. I wish I could change myself. It’s not enough, still your love I’m looking for”, she muttered. Placing the sharp edge of the knife on her left palm, she went slicing the skin and blood began to drop and in some minutes, it started gushing out.

She showed no signs of pain yet she smiled at me. She went to the bare wall of her room, using her thumb on the right finger, she rubbed her blood on it and wrote on her wall. I was thrown into confusion. What was happening? I asked the universe. After writing all she wanted to write, she passed out falling, I was swift enough, I grabbed her as she fell into my hands, we were both on the floor.

Screaming out her name, “Anny!! Wake up please. What have you done? I was in tears, tears of being accused of murder or tears of being doomed by a crazy girl, which it was, I went crying unceasingly. Taking a look at what Anny had wrote on the wall, my whole body shivered. The writings on the wall were bold and written with blood, they were my worst nightmare. The writings read:
