The Secret Room - S01 E03

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 3

I felt life leaving my body as the slap sent chills into my body. I saw stars for a second, felt like my head wasn’t on my neck anymore. Another slap came again, this time, with full force. I screamed as l couldn’t comprehend what was happening. Her last statement was still echoing in my head. I sprang up from where l had fallen off from the bed. She stood right there, the dead body l had seen in the room. It was Eliza.

My mouth went apart as my eyes stared unlinking at her. She stared right back at me, with eyes so cold that even her stare was enough to give me an heart attack. I shivered like someone who was thrown into in an ice tub and l was sweating profusely with tears in my eyes.

She was dead, I am alive, we are married to the same man. I felt helpless seeing who my husband was sleeping with, a dead woman. I stood my ground and l didn’t know where the energy came from and I went screaming at her,” Give me back my husband! You are dead, let him love me. You are also a woman, you should feel my pains. Go to your world, you don’t belong here”, I cried out loud as I said these words and l realized l sounded stupid.

I was going crazy, I was conversing with a dead woman. She smirked as she gave an evil smile. She walked towards the door as l could see through her body, she was actually a ghost. She halted at the entrance and gave a sudden look at me and thundered at me with a voice that seemed like hundreds of horses racing, “Bernard is mine”, the door came slamming hard behind her as she said those words.

l rushed out of the room in tears and headed towards the room downstairs. Luckily for me, the door wasn’t locked, Bernard was still making love with her. I screamed, ” Bernard!!” as hot tears came rolling down my cheeks, l shook profusely. He was shocked and he jumped up from the bed. “How could you do this to me Bernard, you sleeping with your dead wife”.

At my last statement, Bernard thundered as his body went vibrating, “My wife is not dead, she’s only sleeping” and he went back caressing Eliza’s face and kissed her on her forehead. I shook my head repeated as my whole body vibrated with tremor. He was out of his mind and there wasn’t any point in talking to him.

“See, I have everything on recording,you sleeping with a dead woman, everyone is going to know. I’m going to show the world that you are sleeping with corpse. You need pyschiatric help Bernard, I’m going to get help for you”. I swallowed hard as l turned to exit the room, the door slammed close on it’s own and the lights with blinking. I knew what was happening.

I forced the door opened as l ran into the living room to take my car keys from where l had dropped them. I went for the door, opened it with all the strength I had. Entering into the car, I honked rigorously for the gate man to get up from sleep and open the gate. He came rushing out of the room as confusion was written on his face.

l honked again this time around making him know l meant business. He opened the gate and l stepped on the pedal, firing out of the compound, l was heading to my pastor’s place. It was really dark and so was my world. Who would believe this? I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life. I was doomed. Thoughts cake running through my head as l kept shedding hot tears.

Sighting a forlon figure in the distance, it stood right there unshaking, fear gripped me. My car coming close to the figure, it was a woman. The headlamps of my car beamed fully into the dark right onto her face, it was Eliza. My heart raced as l swayed the wheels of the car in an attempt not to hit the woman that stared coldly at me. Losing control of the wheel, I went diving straight into the woods. Boooom!!! Everything went blank….
