My friendship with Johnson lasted till after has graduated. Even when I felt inferior amongst him and his friends, Johnson always make me be myself.

After he graduated I was in ND2 and one of the days he called and asked what my plans were after school, I told him I will go look for a job as I wasn’t financially capable of furthering.

Johnson offered to help me only if I get married to him, he promised to send me to school and take care Of my family. I was happy since I was already having feelings for him, I informed my father about the proposal and he was reluctant at first but later agreed as he too wasn’t capable of training me in school.

John had started working even before his service year, he still maintained the place even during the service. I told him about my response and he was happy, within 6months we were married and I started seeing the other side of Johnson.

He never fulfilled the promise of sending me back to school, I became a full-time housewife with no freedom, he made me look worthless to my kids…to them, I was just the woman that gave birth to them.

He enrolled them in boarding schools paid caretakers to look after them, they spend their holidays mostly with their paternal grandparents and when they are home, they speak little to me.

I am lonely and depressed but I have to stay here for my family, my father, and younger ones. At least he do send them a monthly allowance, that way they wouldn’t know of his evil deeds.

So here I am sleeping next to my nightmare, the man that just beat me.

I cried all through the night and I couldn’t remember sleeping but was woken up by the 5 am Alarm. It was time to get his water heated and make the breakfast, we live in a mansion but Johnson never agreed to get a maid. I was a housewife so it was my duty.

“Hey woman, do you want to burn down my house? That was Johnson’s voice bringing me back from my thoughts.

” sorry” I rushed to where his water was and turned the heater off.

“Try this next time and you will see the other side of me” Johnson yelled.

I hurriedly mix his water and informed him it was ready. I went back to the kitchen to continue with his breakfast.

Johnson has a special food timetable, so I followed them religiously.

I served him his meal on the dining table and went on with other house chores.

“Hey, woman, what in your poor home did you cook” he cursed from the dining.
