Lillian’s POV

The last two weeks of dating Nate were the best in my life. He was so romantic and he took me to places I didn’t even know existed. On that day, I returned from school and met my best friend Joan in the room she was trying to solve some problems in her chemistry textbook and I said hi best friend and she looked up at me and said hi. Then I said you know that you are doing that the wrong way don’t you? Referring to the topic in the chemistry textbook she was trying to solve and she said yeah please come and help me to solve it. I went and poured myself a plate of serial but I realised I didn’t have milk and I asked Joan do you have any milk? She said yes to check in the small tabletop fridge we had in the room. I did and found the milk. I proceeded to pour some milk into my bowl of cereal and I went on to find a spoon and dug into my food. While I was eating, I went to Joan and collected the textbook from her and showed her how to solve the topic. Just then my phone beeped to signify I had an incoming text message I checked it and smiled because the message was a romantic one from my boyfriend Nate. Joan called me but I didn’t answer her until she grabbed a pillow and threw it at me and she asked why are you smiling like that? I said if only you knew and she asked what do you mean? I said never mind and went back to solving the chemistry topic. While I was solving it, another message from Nate came in on my phone I picked up the phone and read the message and replied it still smiling and Joan asked let me guess it was from Nate wasn’t it? I said yes and continued solving the topic and when I was done I asked her if she had gotten it and she said let me try to solve one she did and got it and I said you’ve got it. I went on to finish my plate of serial and asked her so how are things going with Paul? She said to tell you the truth I don’t know and I asked what do you mean? I added he is your boyfriend isn’t he? She said yes but that the last she heard from him was about two weeks ago after we returned from New York and I said why didn’t you tell me? She said I didn’t want to bother you with my relationship problems and I said don’t tell me that and I added I was the one who brought you two together. I said if you are having problems with him next time you tell me. Just then, we heard a knock on the door and I said come in it isn’t locked and Paul walked in.

Joan’s POV

As Paul walked into our room Lillian said speak of the devil and he said hi ladies and he added can I talk to you? Referring to me and I said talk and he said in private. I said I have no secrets from Lillian the reason I did this was that I thought he wanted to break up with me. Lillian stood and said let me give you guys some privacy to settle your differences and she walked out of the room. Paul came and sat beside me and said I know you are wondering why I’ve been a little distant lately? I said you call this being distant? I added you haven’t called me for over two weeks now and when I call you busy my calls. I said I went by your apartment yesterday and couldn’t find you and I asked one of your neighbours and he said you haven’t been home in the last two weeks. I said now tell me where you’ve been? He apologised for not calling me and said that’s one of the qualities I love most about you. I said don’t butter me up and just tell me where you’ve been for the past two weeks? He said that he has been on an undercover mission for the FBI since two weeks ago after we returned from New York to see Diana. After he said this all my anger melted away because I understood why he didn’t call me and when I called he couldn’t answer. I asked him did you catch the bad guy? He said little girl that’s above your pay grade and I asked am I the little girl? He said I don’t see any other person here and I grabbed a pillow from the bed and hit it on his head and he grabbed another pillow and we started a pillow fight. While we were fighting, my pillow fell out of my hands and he threw his away and he caught me and pinned me on the bed and tickled my ribs with his fingers I started laughing uncontrollably and he asked do you give up? I said yes, yes I give up and he stopped. We went on to arrange the room and he said I should accompany him to his car. I did and he pulled out a bouquet of red roses and I asked him how did you know that these are my favourite? He said you must have mentioned it sometime ago and I said no I didn’t. He said you’ve caught me I’m psychic and I said really with a serious look on my face. He busted out laughing and said did you see the look on your face right now? He said I’m not psychic it was just a lucky guess. He also handed me a box of chocolate and my favourite perfume. I dropped all the gifts he got for me and hugged him and he asked am I forgiven? I said I’ve forgiven you since you mentioned you were on an undercover mission. We made up and there was no quarrel between us anymore.
