Charles’s POV

Two weeks after I and Diana moved to California, on the morning of that day, Diana woke up and was very tired. After taking a shower I came out of the bathroom to find her still in bed. After I had rubbed lotion on my skin and had gotten dressed, I sprayed my perfume and I went to her on the bed and said good morning with a kiss. She stretched out on the bed and asked where are you going all dressed? I said to work and she yawned and asked what time is it? I said its past 9 am and when she perceived my perfume, she stood and ran to the toilet to vomit and I followed her there and asked are you okay? She said yes but that it looks like I caught a bug or something and I asked so it looks like you wouldn’t be able to go to work today? She said I should give her 30 minutes and she would be ready to go. So I waited for her to take a shower but after her shower, on her way out of the bathroom she fainted and luckily for us I was right there to catch her before she hit the ground. I said that’s it you aren’t okay and she tried to argue with me but I was having none of it. I grabbed my cell phone and called tony the head of our security team and told him to ask the driver to get the car ready and he asked me are you going to the office? I said no that my wife isn’t feeling too good and I’ll like to take her to the hospital. He said okay and minutes later I looked out the window and saw that the car was ready in front of the house. I got Diana dressed and we exited the house on our way to the hospital. On the ride to the hospital, Diana had a frown on her face and I asked her what’s wrong? She said that we were supposed to be meeting with the Japanese investors today and I said that can happen later and I added for now I am concerned about your health. Just then the driver pulled over in front of the hospital and we exited the car. I walked into the hospital holding my wife’s hand and when we walked in, one of the nurses on duty at the reception told us welcome and asked us what are you here for? I introduced us and said I’m Charles and this is my wife Diana. The nurse just smiled and said I know who you are Mr and Mrs Anderson and I asked how do you know us? She said that you both had a societal wedding about 3 months ago and you pointing to Diana got shot after you returned from your honeymoon and she said I’m a big fan of yours. I went to why we were there in the first place and I said that my wife woke up this morning really tired and she slept early last night and I added after she perceived my perfume, she ran to the toilet to throw up. I also said I could have forgotten all that and gone to work this morning but as she was getting out of the shower she fainted. The nurse wrote some things down and told us to have our seats at the reception and she walked into where I presumed was the doctor’s office. After about 5 minutes she walked out of the office and said the doctor would see you now and so we walked into the doctor’s office. Once in there the doctor welcomed us and told us to have our seats on the sofas in his office and he said I’d be with you in a minute and after a minute he came to us and asked us what was wrong. I started to explain again when he said I should stop and that he wanted to hear from the person who was ill. Diana went on to explain everything that went on that morning and after her explanation, the doctor picked up the phone on his desk and called someone and told them to come to his office right away. After about two minutes, a lady in a lab coat walked into the office and the doctor told her to take Diana’s blood and run a battery of tests on it. Diana stretched out her arm and the lab technician drew her blood with a needle and the doctor asked the technician when would those tests be done? She said in the next 15 minutes the first batch of them would be ready. So the lab technician left us in the doctor’s office and after about20 minutes she walked back into the office and handed the doctor Diana’s test results and after scanning through it the doctor said congratulations Mrs Anderson you are two weeks pregnant and he added I would like to recommend that you start antenatal immediately and he said that’s if you want to keep the baby? Diana said why wouldn’t I want to keep my baby? The doctor said I’m sorry if I offended you with my statement but you didn’t jump for joy when I told you that you were pregnant and Diana said I’m happy doctor just that this wasn’t the news I was expecting when I woke up this morning. Then she said to the doctor I’m a busy woman doctor hope this wouldn’t affect my work? The doctor said it wouldn’t affect your work but we like to recommend that when you get to your second trimester you take a maternity leave and Diana said so who would be helping my husband out at work? The doctor looked at me and said Mr Anderson I think you should be able to handle the business of your company while your wife is on maternity leave? I said yes I should and Diana shocked me by asking the doctor so can we have sex while I’m pregnant? I had my hand over my mouth at this question and the doctor said it’s recommended actually for a married couple to have sex when the woman is pregnant. We went on to discuss various other things before leaving the doctor’s office that day and on our way out of the hospital, we met Daniel and Nancy at the exit and it looked like they had just finished with a doctor’s appointment. I asked so what’s up friends? Daniel said you wouldn’t believe this and he continued I’m going to be a father and I said oh yeah me too. We both jumped for joy and I said this calls for a celebration and Daniel seconded. We all returned home to mine and Diana’s house for a celebration.
